You can't glue something to a popcorn ceiling. You'll need to use bolts into the concrete.

It's not rocket sugery but if the owner wouldn't like OP to put bolts in the ceiling then he sure as hell won't like OP gluing a big mirror to the ceiling. That shit gets stuck good and the only way to remove it is to brake the mirror, scrape off whatever adhesive is still attached to the drywall and either replace the drywall or do one hell of a patch job. I hope Dirk Diggler here understands why it isn't popular anymore.
