Has anyone played Onee-san wa majo? I can't even seem to get the trial to work, probably because I have Windows 7 and this was made for 2000/XP/Vista. And the fact I don't understand anime-speak isn't very helpful.

Would I need an emulator here or should I just try clicking random buttons until something good happens?

I saw the gallery before, but isn't it incomplete? It has some good stuff no doubt, but it looks so fragmented. Not to mention some images are better drawn than others, which begs the question were they uploaded from different versions? Pic related for example is noticeably better drawn than most in the gallery and it's not included there (it's a preview pic for some sites where you can buy it).

The noticeable gap in quality between some pics is what I'm mostly interested in. If most of the game looks like the image on the left then I'll be keeping my hard earned shekels and getting off on what little the gallery provides. There are three different artists, and three different routes/branching storylines. One artists for each route. Two of the artists are pretty good, one is terribad. Unfortunately, because kitaraf/I-Raf-You is a biased motherfucker and caters to his own fetishes more often then his fanbase, the shittiest, least fun route which is by far the longest gets the shit artist too.

It wouldn't have been so bad if the advertising/hype back at the time had been truthful, but he pulled a big bait and switch by portraying the best route as the main one and not even mentioning the actual route that dominates 3/4 of the material or more, which is the worse one, at least in my opinion.

Likewise, despite technically being a 'choose your own adventure' like most VNs, where the only thing ostensibly different is your choices, each of the three routes has a different author, with each their own part of the size fetish. This means that each of three routes have WILDLY different tones, interactions, and cater to vastly differemt crowds. Worse (in my mind) the three main woman of interests act TOTALLY different and have VASTLY different mindsets and treatment towards the MC in each route.

There's Rulina's route which I like the best, which is fun and sexy and actually has SOME giantess/growth content for once. It plays out like an ecchi animu romcom with silliness and essentially harmless characters.

There's Nagi's very short route, which itself is split into vastly different latter bits resulting in Nagi herself being basically two entirely different people within her own route (IE, i have two personalitis, sweetest person you ever met and total psycho), and in which the other two, despite being harmless and silly in the prior route are evil, all-powerful, world dominating psychos.

And then the main route is Yuzu's, which is full on, 24/7, 100% suffering, physical and emotional abuse and torture porn, and focuses of the darkest elements of the shrunken man fetish.

If you're at all familiar with Tsukihime (a classic VN that takes place in the same fictional universe as Fate/Stay Night) Yuzu is an expy of Akiha (they even hired her same voice actress) and her situational is a complete mirror of the main character ans his NBR sister in that story, with her going full on murder-goddess yandere.

This was written by the same person who wrote Shrink High Gaiden, so if you played that, she's essentially very similar to Clone Narue, with the same kinds of scenes and interactions. Naturally, the other two main woman don't even show up in Yuzu's route for no reason at all, because if they did the story couldn't happen.

I did play it a long time ago using a text hooker and auto translator, and the ingame art on the left is noticeably worse than the art during cutscenes on the right. If I remember correctly, the policewoman actually tries to protect the guy, but she doesn't get a whole lot of screentime. The only part I liked was when the silver-haired girl grows into a giantess. I remember it had a lot of pissing, which I'm not a fan of. Personally, I'd save your shekels.

Like I said, the Japanese version really isn't that much better to read when compared to the treatment the first game received. Either the translator had a chance of heart or figured it's impossible to do whatever he wanted to the source text when there's so much voice acting, I don't know. But it's still at the point where I wouldn't compare the original Japanese writer's works to each other based on the translation alone. (Though this applies to a lot of translations that are actually good, too, because it's hard to get a meaningful point of reference without reading the author's own words, and even two good translations of the same source material can end up looking pretty different from each other).

If Nagi's storyline wasn't as short as you imply I might actually get it. Her having different personalities in different routes isn't an issue for me since I like both sweet and gentle and evil and domineering.

I'm not really familiar with other VNs, me having money to spare is a rare occurrence and this one just seemed interesting + fairly cheap.
