I think part of the problem is that a lot of the anal vore is either giantess or kinda low quality. LordVIP3R, The Saint Of Ravens, to a lesser extent Starcrossing, it just seems to attract mostly artists who aren't really pleasing enough for people to post on /d/. I've found a lot more good stuff in the writing section of Eka's than art.

It's not a bad sketch, it's got a cute little aesthetic to it goin' on. I wouldn't worry about perspective or anything that advanced for a simple request sketch.

If you want some tips on improving, obviously you gotta make sure your tech is up to snuff. I.e. Tablet, art programs, etc. To add to it, there're quite a few youtube channels that'll just give you free art information. Some of the bigger ones are Sycra and Proko, and they cover many different topics.


Now, I'd give you a request but, typically my interests and picture ideas are better as personal practice to try new, different stuff.

Speaking of, at your level a less-realistic or, more stylized/cartoony aesthetic works much better. So long as you stick to that, and get some more experience, practice, and knowledge, later on you can really decide whether and when to make the jump to realistic. And I'd love to see you do a picture on SAI, as the more big-name friends of mine all use that. Even if it were a picture that wasn't amazing, you learn far more from making mistakes and examining them closely.

Just a quick heads up, just directly tracing will always result in an uncanny feeling to the image. If you do so you have to alter the image so that there's a sense of ingenuity to it. And if you can't do it on your own, references are always a good thing to have and will help you draw better. It's just recommended you don't trace the reference or copy it completely since that won't help you improve

If you're curious, look at some of their recent uploads like the GoT, Sodachi, and Nurse ones. Atleast he acknowledged he messed up, kinda. As for Metalforever and Ecchipanda, Metal is a great person but when they cut corners it's really severe. Also I find their OC Ember kinda boring. They've certainly improved their art but only in the past year or so. And Ecchipanda makes stomachs look like they're tumour-shaped, along with a few questionable poses. Shading on skin could use a bit of work too I guess.

This is how I feel too. I appreciate good art and I abhor artists who don't even try to improve, but I have popped boners to MS Paint tier shit and felt nothing for images that were pretty fantastically drawn. The scenario often matters more than the execution.

While we're on the topic of art critique, what do people here think of artists using the same few poses over and over? I guess the most obvious example would be the 3/4 profile, just standing around with a big belly, which seems to make up 90% of all same size vore art.

I personally don't mind it. I acknowledge that it's kinda lazy, but I also think there are very few poses that are well suited for vore due to the huge belly and it's better to repeat poses that look hot than make it less hot in an attempt to mix things up. It's primarily fap material after all.

I think it's because they tend to draw characters with long limbs and torsos, but relatively small heads, exaggerated a bit beyond "realistic" proportions. Compared to the more compact/cartoonish builds most artists use that gives them a lot of room to make the butt/breasts/thighs/belly look big without just being flabby rolls like an obese person would have.

On the contrary, I fit somewhere in the middle for preds. I obviously prefer thinn-er preds because it means post-digestion weight gain is more obvious, as opposed to some fat person staying fat. Not that it can't work, but eventually too much of something eventually turns to grotesque, and this is no exception. Chubbier preds risk going over that line more than thin ones, you can't play with it as much thus making it samey, and of course it's harder to do tighter stomachs, which I have a clear bias towards.

I'm not super into internals myself, I neither hate nor seek em out. But this was a good point I'd forgotten about. Their internals just seem so poorly detailed that it's on the level of Starcrossing. Coloring is really desaturated too, which for internals I would say doesn't work well. Same for Metal, I can really only recall seeing em do that once or twice. And combined with how rarely they upload actual vore these days on anything not DeviantArt, that isn't likely to change soon.

I can see his anatomical mistakes, but his emphasis on bulges, internal work, and the overall polish lets me gloss over them. He could stand to improve, but he's already in a decently competent place. He's still in my top tier of the vore art world (maybe behind Boogie, Karbo, Kveis, Bigbig, or 1ZUMY, and alongside Ecchipanda, Kiyoa, Aesir, Jorabora etc)

NAC isn't really on my radar, it's not terrible work, but his presentation does nothing for me artistically or sexually

Then you're a fortunate person in that regard if you can have it that way, anon. They have a good picture here and there in my opinion, but their technical prowess actually sometimes gets in the way of the erotica to me. Granted atleast one other anon shared my belief of good art doesn't auto equal good erotica, but I digress. On a technical level, good. On an erotic level, up in the air, like I said.

Regarding Tsavo, this free pass of sorts is why, along with him outright trying to cover up his evidence of fucking up in that nurse picture, I have a neutral opinion about the guy's work. The bulges is debatable since it's personal preference, and the guy leans towards balloon stomach more, I'm not for nor against internals so that doesn't factor in for me, and "overall polish" tells me absolutely nothing about the the guy's aesthetic or style. While it's one thing to have a different preference, it's another to have something really non-specific as a reason. I'm not trying to throw the guy under the bus here nor criticize you for liking his work, as God-forbid I hate on someone for liking other stuff than what I like, but people either demonize someone with no reason whatsoever and resort to insults and name-calling/insanely personal preferences and reasons (as we've seen in this thread), OR put someone on a pedestal like it's the second coming of Jesus himself.

Speaking of NAC, again, that's a very generic, non-specific thing you're saying. What do you mean by 'artistically', for instance? Tells me nothing about the 'what' or 'why. I wanna know what you mean by these terms.

NAC's work lacks line variation, which reenforces the extremely stiff poses and flat head-on angles that he uses.

He doesn't have an understanding of underlying structure or masses of the body, so his characters are blocky and lack form. His work might be stylized, but look at artists like Metalforever or Bronzebanana with a similarish style, they both are able to make cartoonish anime characters look like they exist in 3d space and have anatomy that makes sense.

His faces are approaching "okayish" as far as a basic anime style goes, but they're very samey. I'd say the biggest problem with his faces are the eyes, the eyes are very dead and glassy, they like they were drawn with a shape tool and then pasted on the face. It's hard to describe but his expressions are really weak as well, he doesn't "push them"

His colouring and shading is very pillowy, and his values are shallow, it doesn't help define the characters well.

If one wanted to support Ata for doujinshi like that last one, how would you do it? Would I have to pay for the physical thing?

It'd be nice to have some opportunity to toss money in without a paper trail. Bitcoin donation or some shit.

As far as NAC's line variation goes, honestly this sorta thing, for any artist, I don't really care about or notice really. I won't deny it likely doesn't help with pose flow, but it seems like a somewhat mum issue compared to a lotta other possible ones other artists, even ones that are considered top-tier relevant to NAC, suffer from.

I can't pass judgement on the body form and such. Again, just something that went under my radar really. As for being compared to people like Metalforever and Bronzebanana, i.e. people who've not only been at it far longer than NAC and actually seem to use commissions as, more of a source of income than pure livelihood, yeah. No kidding those artists are gonna be better at artwork 9 times outta 10. Metal's been at it for nearly x2 as long, and Bronzebanana, I gotta be honest seems just 'pretty good' tier overall. Not saying you're incorrect, you are right that these two do a bit better of a job than NAC at body shapes and such. But it's also not fair to the guy with all external factors considered like time spent with art overall and so on.

Can't say the same-face issue is a good thing, but it's also hypocritical and dishonest when people like Moga are praised as gods, while still having a flaw exactly like this one, if not more severely. No opinion on the eyes, I don't see it that way myself but I can't exactly disagree either since, I don't know the actual creation process myself either. Neither of us do. Same for expressions, though something like "push them" again doesn't tell me much.

Aaaand as for shading and such, more opinion than fact so, I can't prove or disprove that one this or that way anyway. Some people like soft shading, others like myself prefer saturation and harsh/strong shading.

Well, this about sums up all the stuff I've noticed wrong about my own art. I still resort to a lot of symbol drawing in situations, even when my faces starting reaching those okay-ish levels it's not because I had any better understanding of forms, it's just more symbols I have access to. Definitely had that issue with the eyes, keep slapping myself over not thinking of them as forms enough.
Bodies being stiff has definitely been a huge issue apparent to myself, along with faces they were my top 2 to fix.
You'll notice I've never done a complicated cast shadow before either, I can play this off as laziness but it's really me just hiding from the fact that I really am that bad at understanding forms.

Really, it's embarrassing I've spent this much time doing art, and I didn't develop my fundamentals at all, I wish I could be a cautionary tale to new budding artists. Get your shit together before you start uploading.

If you want to draw better, than the solution is time and practice, and there are no shortcuts. However you can use online resources and tutorials to find out what you need to practice and how. Personally, I found Modeseven's mini tutorials http://superamiuniverse.tumblr.com/tagged/tutorial particularly helpful, especially for erotica, but you should fine something that covers an area you feel lacking in, starting with the most basic things.

One personal tip I can give you is to remember that you are trying to portray 3d objects in a 2d plane. Try to understand a shape, why it looks the way it does, and show that in your drawing. If you wanna draw a hand good, understand the anatomy of a hand, how it bends, how it looks from different angles - why a hand looks like a hand. Try to aim for this, even if you wish to draw in a basic or cartoony style, because if you understand a shape and can more or less draw it realistically, it is trivial to simplify and stylize it, boil it down to its fundamentals in various different ways. If you don't, you fall in the trap of symbol drawing, even if its with symbols of your own making.

So the way I figured it was 3 major principles:

(~20% of the world)
The Fodder is everyone else. They live quick lives of low expectations. Eat Fuck Sleep Get eaten. Just like everyone else, when they are born, they are implanted with a small chip that will essentially track their life span. When they are flushed, the chip will register with a device in the sewers, and their responsibilities to the world are erased. They fill all the menial work (~80% of the world)

I think what anon is complaining about is when a pred feels justified in eating somebody who insulted her or did some other minor thing that is not at all proportional to the punishment of being. This can be done to play up how terrible of a person the pred is, but usually the art or story portrays the pred as still good and their murder of an innocent person as actually justified. A good example would be most of those Gabi and Emily comics that get commissioned. Gabi feels bad about eating people until one of them insults her sister, and then somehow murder becomes okay.

The only time I've seen it done really well is in Jacksomm Trifker's Aekallia setting, although that's as much a result of the quality of the writing as it is the details of the world.

Aekallia is a non-fatal setting, so you don't have to deal with societal collapse from people dying all the time, or some kind of horrible caste-based dystopia. But it also doesn't make the mistake most non-fatal settings make, where vore is just something everybody does for fun or sex. It's still done mostly for eating purposes, so the culture that's built around it feels more natural and not as much like some contrived fetish fun land.

I think that the thing that absolutely kills it for me is self-inserts. Like I've just come across way too much art of people drawing... I don't know, Rosalina eating them or something and then they say shit like "Oh (name), you were the best meal I've ever had," and then the kid replies with some bullshit like "H-heheh... W-well anything for you, Rosalina!~ ^////^" It just makes me roll my eyes every time I see it. Especially when it's that guy who commissions like every damn vore artist to draw them eating him.

I think the only thing that's worse than the willing version of that shit, is the unwilling. Because it's like they're acting like they don't want to be eaten or whatever, but they're the one who's drawing/commissioning the damn thing.

But that whole "vore is a known and popular thing in this universe" scenario is also pretty bad. Just takes the fun out of the idea that it's a rare thing that a select group of people can do.

To be fair, Kattu - the other person that sells commissioned art, makes his intentions perfectly clear. Loosely speaking, he works like a publisher, he pays a guaranteed amount to the artist, a wage, but takes the sales money (or most of the cut, I don't know the specifics), which may turn a profit or not. He offers this exchange, and the artist can accept if they want, or decline if they don't. While I personally don't like such arrangements, he doesn't actually do anything wrong.

These people harrasing MF are just thieves and liars with half a brain.
