Not everybody is content with the same things. Some artists want their art to be objectively good, some artists are content with simply sharing their ideas, some artists just enjoy the attention they're getting from a niche crowd, etc.
Being recognized as a decent artist in the vore community is akin to placing in the special olympics, the standards of quality are extremely low because the fetish is that niche. So the artist being showered with positive attention may in the end have no effect, if they realize this.

I feel like that it is almost an inevitability that at some point every niche fetish artist goes through a "crisis of self".

While I agree that many of them are definitely being way too dramatic and looking for attention some of them are very real.

I can imagine it very easy for someone (particularly if they are a legit talented artist) to suddenly look up after 5+ years of creating hundreds if not thousands of pictures that they could never really show anyone without the veil of internet anonymity. And not ask; "what the hell have I done with my life?"


And while I think by and large most artists in their given niche have that moment and then keep creating without much fanfare you do get those ones that go scorched earth drama time and try to nuke their entire presence online.

You're right. It's pretty sad that in hindsight, criticism & praise is a finiky double-edged sword. It can easily motivate you/keep you going as well as tear you apart completly, and that's assuming you're even receiving anything at all. There's also the whole "I can't let my followers/boss discover the kind of stuff I draw when I'm bored" situation that people like Sorry has mentioned before, which complicates thing ever futher.

I disagree. I feel that once an artist freely releases a work out into the public sphere then it is everyones. And trying to remove it is a disservice and insult in the same way as if a director/screen writer tried to suddenly say "oh no! I know it been a few years but now I regret my early stuff. Everyone destroy your video tapes and movie collections of my stuff."

Also there have been countless artists that have suddenly fallen off the map and failed to complete commissions after collecting said money.

So much this. Once you've learned more about how to do stuff better, checking your old content hurts you so much it's not even funny. From the few pics I've drawed till now, I'll say around 30-40% of them are actually decent-good (and most of those also happen to be new pics). I'm still somewhat hesitant to delete everything else only because back when I first started drawing vore and all my stuff was trash, there was people that somehow still liked it, so I assume that, for better or for worse, there's people who have a soft spot fo that sort of art.

It's mostly a matter of inconsistent proportions. Loomis' book 'Drawing the Head and Hands' could probably help him a lot with just a few hours of study.
Well, this is coming from personal experience, because I needed that and a lot of time dedicated to understanding basic shapes before the two clicked together in any meaningful way.

I like his art style, it's not perfect since he suffers from a severe case of same-face and he's stagnant in style, but it's better than 90% of vore artists.

Actual content from him is boring. You can only draw the same-y looking girl eating the same-y looking guy with the same art style so many times before i'm just bored.
He doesn't try to experiment with anything in his scenarios, which is weird, because he's the type of person to regularly have gas and implied disposal. Usually people who go that far is willing to experiment a little.

Biggest problem with him though is his patreon shit. He constantly shoves it in your face and uses ekas as his personal advertisement channel, and he's one of those artists that have those confusing patreon models where you have to request certain packs, you only get a limited amount of stuff, and stuff like that.
I'm already hesitant to patreon artists for fetish shit, don't make it even worse for me.

Just practicing drawing things that you want to draw will be very unproductive if you don't know how to learn properly, so start from the beginning.
You should look online for free lessons or buy a book that teaches you the absolute basics. The book 'Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain' is popular, however, I couldn't keep focused with it, sometimes too much fluff. This book also requires you buy a slew of different art supplies.
I've instead turned to drawabox.com, which I've so far found very satisfactory for being free. This one breaks ideas down into simple problems to tackle which can appeal to certain people.

I'm by no means an expert. I'm not even experienced to be honest, but I do know a couple tricks.

First of all, if you haven't already, understand that you are not supposed to draw objects, or diagrams. You are drawing what you see, the lines exist only to transmit the idea of an object. Don't be afraid to explore what lines to add and what lines to omit. There's a hundred ways to draw a nose, for example.

Use whatever means you deem necessary to maintain proportions. Guide lines, paralel lines, horizon lines, a compass, whatever, as long as the proper proportions can be maintained. Related to this, keep an big picture in mind from time to time. Just following the details can severely distort the dimensions and angles, stepping back from time to time and making sketches before going in help avoid those aberrations.

Use reference material. Nobody said you had to know everything by memory. If you want to draw something you don't draw very often, search for references. You can even make your own references. (Do remember that just copying an image [and adding a few token bits] can result in copyright issues.)

Following the tip about references, the closest to the source the more powerful the blood. Copying art styles is like grabbing the end of a telephone game, not all that useful. Drawing books offer you techniques, those are useful but not the main course. If you want to draw people, anatomy books can be of help. But ultimately, real life is where all that stuff comes from. Study the face proportions, the body proportions, the way the articulations flex and bend, the way the clothes fold, the different pieces a machine can have or the ways a trunk bends. As long as you don't fall in the trap of drawing shapes, the real world is your purest source. The book techniques just streamline the process and offer scaffolding, you can develop those on your own.

Practice makes the hand dexterous, and the mind creative. Whatching others paint helps too.

I've practiced a lot from reference but a lot of that was wasted time because of my weak ability to think in forms. So practicing the correct things can still be bad if you're missing pieces of understanding.

That is of coursr still necessary, but the 2 pitfalls I most often notice in artists are trying to create a drawing out of pieces (fast road to the uncanny valley), and practicing technique without trying to understand the principles behind it (samefaces and no evolution steem from this issue).

That was my main focus in those tips, knowing that you are not obligued to draw every object and shape is so liberating. Of course those are important, but they must be tools, not the final product.

Oh, and you are not forced to think in forms from the get go. Take for example the hands. The form at its basic is a "standby" to be replaced by the real deal later. You can always first draw circles instead of hands, and then with practice you will get what is the right size of those circles, and wether squares, triangles or ovals are more useful to you.

While I normally don't mind when some artist does paid content, I do dislike when the $$$ convinces them that, from now on, they'll hide all of their new art behind a paywall and leave their public accounts outdated deliberately so it can work as a "preview" of sorts for potential buyers.

They've improved in some areas, and deteriorated in others. You can see them attempting to break out of their same face commonly now, though they don't understand enough about the face to do it without looking weird. This is especially apparent when they try to draw "realistic" faces.

Man, sure does happen to a lot of solid artists, feels like it's more than average for this community though that could just feel that way because of how niche it is. I guess it's no surprise when you have only toxic positivity or toxic negativity to see. You're either the pinnacle of achievement, or you're scum not even worth making pennies off your art. There's no in between, nobody dares to build up these artists that are stuck half way or are already good but still have so much more potential.
TL;DR: Community needs to be more balanced and constructive.

Who knows if that would help Nyxon though, for all I know they just managed to load too much work on to themselves and burned the fuck out.
