actually not surprising that theres a lot of masking in alien shows. Like in some detective/spy shows (mission impossible, detective conan, lupin III).

Im surprised there isnt more of this. When you think of aliens living on earth they gotta disguise themselves somehow -> masking or skinsuit.

In my mind, the suits wouldn't be able to do much on their own except wiggle around a bit and mouth off at their owner. They'd be pretty docile overall.

Maybe one of the suits begs the main character to take her with him to work/school/college. He carries her in a bag, but then loses it / it gets stolen. Some random guy now has the suit and wears it constantly in public adopting its identity. MC can't just confront her in public if they both look identical in the suits. He has to put on a wig or talk to her as his male self. Talks to her all like "Hey, sis/friend! I've been looking all over for you!" The thief naively assumes that that person actually is an acquaintance of the suit he's wearing and plays along. Shenanigans ensue.
