Because it's generic. The shapeshifting itself itself isn't generic, but literally anything you can do with it ends up being something else. You could start a thread with one picture, say she's a shapeshifter, then post a completely different picture and say she shapeshifted into that.

Case in point: I have posted a shapeshifter. She is being inconvenienced by another shapeshifter. Note her non-standard horns and the abundance of prehensile dicks.

Well, you've got a few issues. As was said, it often ends up crossing over into another fetish, like multi-tits/limbs, giants, furry/werewolf, cosplay,etc. And a lot of people want to stay focused on their fetish, not be able to play around with a lot of them.

Also, shapeshifter is kind of a broad term. You could easily include generic werewolves, kitsune, Mystique, goo girls, elastic girls, Miss Martian, Baby 5 from One Piece, and Transformers under that heading, I think a lot of people try to be more specific in their fetishes. :)

But a more fundamental problem I think you run into is that it's not nearly submissive enough. For whatever reason, unwilling transformation seems to be a more popular topic. Voluntary shapeshifting, giving her agency to choose the change, does not seem to be as popular. I don't entirely understand it myself. Nor can I figure out how much of it is due to what artists want to draw, versus what is actually comissioned. Heck, even your shapeshifter girl from lemonfont, in chapter 4, pg 19, talk about being "your submissive little shapeshifter pet". Letting her choose i apparently not sexy.

Having said that, shapeshifters are cool. I'd love to see more, even if I'm more centered on elastic girls.
