I generaly associate 'soft'-vore under being both swallowed whole and not being digested... Though I suppose that would fall under 'safe' vore instead, if that's even a term that is.

Soft vore, the the act of swallowing one whole. With no dismemberment, Guro, or any form of death involved. While Digestion can be impediment, its more shown in a way of the stomach shrinking with no internal view of the prey; which most just label as absorption. Thats my labeling of it at least.

Graphic digestion is kind of on the edge of what could be considered soft, depending a lot on the place and subjective beliefs. Here it's rather off-limits, Eka's doesn't care as much - they do have an "extra soft" section though.

These terms have generally-agreed-upon definitions that are used in things like tagging art on Eka's, so it's probably best not to come up with your own meanings. Soft means the prey is swallowed whole and alive. Non-fatal means there's no digestion. They're not interchangeable, but now that I think about it, I can't really think of any examples of hard, non-fatal vore.

Anyone else prefer monster vore where the victim is kept alive indefinitely rather than digested?

Vore isin't really my thing but XX of the dead was hot as fuck.

On Eka's, at least, digestion art is often denoted with a "Graphic digestion" tag or similar. Most soft vore doesn't actually depict such scenes visually, and will instead just have an external view with sound effects. I suppose, really, digestion is it's own entity. Related, but separate. Soft vore, then, would apply only to the initial eating. Non-fatal vore that lacks digestion at all is certainly a thing.
