The easiest way is to install ExHentai Easy plugin, availible for both Firefox and Chrome.
Exhentai lets you search by image, so you can try checking which ones are already uploaded there by feeding it sample images from Dlsite, but to be sure just sweep through the amputee tag, there's a lot of nice stuff there.

Low-level amputations are not enough, above joint at least.
Just legs makes the body seem wide and bulky, only really works with prosthetics.

I actually got into guro (not really into it, but I'm not as disgusted with it as I probably should be) because there's lots of amputation involved into that. For me, liking amputees has both a physical and non physical reason.
An amputee is really helpless so it makes you want to care for them and help them. Speaking from personal experience, I haven't heard of Caterpillar come up much, probably because I stuck with porn of women. I've seen that real life guy who lost his limbs in a motorcycle accident came up more, but he didn't get fetishized so much as be seen as a cautionary tale.
