If you have a fetish, is it common to be aroused by just the fetish in non-sexual or teasing but non-explicit contexts?
I realized that this is what's happened to me and wanted peoples' opinions on whether it's a regular thing or not.
>is it common to be aroused by the fetish [...]
Yes.
>[...] in non-sexual or teasing but non-explicit contexts?
Yes.
That's part of the deal with a fetish. It's almost a sexual hangup. Whether or not you can or cannot be excited by anything else is a part of it, but not necessarily so. The fetish is a sexual fixation.
In my case, the closest thing I have to a fetish is about pregnancies. I can happily wank to other things, but pregnancies always are easier to get off to.

I am of the habit of being generous with food, money and other such things: giving it to those around me without much care.
I also have a huge fetish for weight gain and all that shit.
God help me, every time someone says that I am going to make them fat, talks about when they were younger / chubby or talks about them having gained weight along any other such thing. Doesn't help that I hang around mostly with women.
Essentially this is what a fetish is, a psychological concept, phrase or "trigger" that results in sexual arousal. In the same way as certain stimulus can cause flashbacks for trauma victims or other such reactions. Entirely unwilling and uncontrollable.

Being turned off by regular sex means you need to step away from porn and masturbating for a while. That aversion is not healthy, and a sexual fixation that causes that needs to be worked through

XD I've never been able to respond to porn in my life! Just the fetish.

Find someone with the same kink, then :O

That's why I'm here.
I would think most do, but I know for sure mine is so. Most of the stuff in my folder isn't sexual at all, but is very arousing

fetishism is a meme here; every other poster and their mother has some 'fetish' that's based more in exposure to weird shit than actual arousal. cut out the stimuli in the long term and the feelings curiously go away or attach themselves to a new stimuli. ain't that something
