Check out the part about punishment, the idea is that you get a "base punishment" (e.g a blindfold) and then add modifiers. If the implanted blindfold was permanent it would get a x4 modifier as specified within the "Time" section.

Also, perhaps a punishment that temporarily upgrades a drawback you link it to. Ex: catheter plugged-> no plug.

Oh, I hadn't considered that! Would you mind trying to rewrite it to something that makes more sense? I mean just putting 1 hour this, 4 hours looks like bad writing. While using something approximate like "an afternoon" or "a little while" might not be too specific but looks better. After all, players only need to know that it's more than an hour but less than a day, the rest is up for imagination! That's how these games work I think.

Also the idea is for that conditioning to lead to pain and misery, if you think it would be that bad you could try giving it twice as many points as a regular blindfold as to account for that! I just wanted to make a painful blindfold and I sure did!

Could be. But writing backstories for owners isn't my thing. Still it'd be nice if someone volunteered for that! I'm very good with the excel file and can fend my own with some writing stuff. The excel is important because I can't make a CYOA any more complex than the enchanted rings one without providing some number-crunching aids.

Well since the player might have to choose dozens of drawbacks at a time, a punishment boosting just one doesn't seem to be a big deal. Now a combo punishment so that say, if the player is naughty, he loses total control over his body, that'd be great!

I had a spreadsheet that'd do the rolls for me and then convert that into the name of the drawback- naturally made it much easier to find things. Still had to convert it to prereqs or other things on the tree if it didn't fit. Then it'd total everything up in the end. Also made sure I didn't have duplicates.

In the lactofork, theres an amputation tree where the first perk is losing the use of an arm for half a day (a rather crippling effect) that gave only +1 points. Since the amputation tree had the one of, if not THE highest chance of rolling it out of all drawback trees, and the "decline drawback" part of full random costs you three times more for 1 point drawbacks than for 3 point drawbacks, I decided to just pretend that drawback was a +3. I'd usually have to decline it 5 to 10 times per random playthrough, so thats a lot of points.

As for the link, no idea but you can just google "lactofork rings", and I bet its also on the /tg/ cyoa google drive.

BTW, the old cyoa thrad has saged, Nows your time to shine (or make a new cyoa thread and promote that one)

You say namefagging is encouraged, but nobody else is using a name (exception being two posts by a "filthy mcnasty"). You've never heard of a mystery box before, which is a really common feature, especially in things that are NOT plot-heavy. You also screwed up the OP pretty bad (which takes talent since all you had to do was copy and paste from previous threads). You can have a post at the start about what you're working on, but it should be the second post. Not the first. Otherwise it gives off the impression that the thread is specifically about you/your stuff, instead of cyoas in general. You can actually make them in excel pretty easily. Background image is easy, the grid makes organizing simple, it handles layers and lets you do basic photomanip with cropping and sizing etc.
Then you can save it as a pdf or just select everything and copy it into paste to make it an png/jpg.

Actually the CYOA is a google docs file telling the story and describing every single sexy thingy, and then the excel is for crunching the numbers for you. However the excel is supposed to be just an application for those who want a game rather than a sandbox like most CYOA's are. So the images can only go either in the word file or maybe in a separate google slides document.

I think I got an idea, what if I made it so players opened the google docs file, then as they make choices they wrote those down in the google sheets file, and whenever they wanted to take a look at an image they could simply Ctrl+F the item in the google slides file? I mean, sure, three tabs open, but it'd be perfect and would require no messing up with google slides!

I dunno, what do you think?

The problem here is that most CYOAs are high in images, medium in words and small in gameplay. While my CYOA is rather niche as it is big in gameplay, medium in words and small in images. And my plan is to attract the casual crowd through the text and maybe some images and the hardcore crowd through the excel mostly.

I mean, one thing is to read about putting a buttplug in a girl's ass. Another very different one is having some visual aids to deliver the point. And ANOTHER is to combine it into a sexy fetish regime where you can decide what kind of buttplug she's wearing, for how long, as part of which punishment, for what reason and THEN watch your point count up as you make life harder for her.

Also, the hardcore ones are the ones who share and occasionally volunteer, so there's that.

That's my idea, niche appeal. I mean, as long as I got at least a few people appreciating my work and maybe one or two who volunteer, why should I need anything else? So while with videogames I can always say "fuck it gotta play whatever", with this CYOA there's no other good alternative (how many good hentai games are there anyway?). Those sex mods are the best thing you can get in term of actually interactive lewd gameplay, with several dozens hours of new gameplay, from regular gameplay with added lewdness to full-on sex game. INTRODUCTION

Do everything in order. You will fuck it up once or twice or thrice cause everyone does, but thanks to Mod Organizer, you won't have to start from scratch when it happens, about everything can be undone. Just use google and your brain and you can do it. Don't forget to always check the date in search results, some are obsolete. There is a date filter in google, one or two years is usually new enough, sometimes even more, unless there was a major version recently. I assume you have a PC that's not too shitty, I run everything quite smoothly on a three years old laptop and a six years old desktop. All in all, this will take at least the better part of a day, but then you're ready for a few months of daily faps. So bear with me, you will see it's well worth it.

SKYRIM
Buy Skyrim, Legendary edition. That means all DLC for regular 32bit 2011 edition. Do not buy that recent ripoff Special Edition 64bit, most mods are not compatible and there's no telling when the script extender they use is going to work, so stick with the regular Legendary.

MOD ORGANIZER
To install mods use Mod Organizer (MO). Do not, DO NOT ever use the Nexus Mod Manager. It will not be able to manage those unstable mods. That's because with NMM, every time you install a mod, it moves some files into the actual game directory, deleting existing files from vanilla or other mods. You can't always uninstall properly, unless you DL the whole game again. On the other hand, MO sort of builds the game directory every time you launch Skyrim, so your files are safe from unstable mods. It's not slower at all and you can't break your game. Now you will see Nexus Mod Manager everywhere, because it's provided by the one skyrim mod repository and is easy to use, just like the three little pigs and their straw/wood/brick houses. Using NMM will make Skyrim crash just like the straw house. also You don't need NMM to use the nexus repo.
So, download Mod organizer, launch it and read the provided tutorial. Shit ain't easy, but here you have a guide.

Then create a Nexus account (on nexusmods). You will need it to download mods with the Mod Organizer, that "download with manager" button works with MO too. Really, anytime you read "with Nexus Mod Manager", Mod Organizer will do the same. Except the bad things, of course.

By now you have Skyrim+DLCs and a nexusmods account, and you've downloaded Mod Organizer.

First thing you will download is SKSE (SKyrim Script Extender). It's a prerequisite for most mods and it's not updated for Special Edition yet. It's an exe you launch instead of skyrim.exe. That's about the hardest part of this guide. There are a lot of tutorials on google and youtube, but since I'm spoonfeeding :

Since MO builds the game every time you launch it, it needs to know what to launch, so you will give the path of the new exe to MO. Don't use the installer, use the 7z archive and follow the readme. Then, give the path of the game to MO as in pic related. Launch the game once, make a new game just to check everything works. As this point, you have a mod-ready vanilla skyrim. Don't play test it yet as the intro is fucking long and you will have to do it all again, just make sure you can see that racist nazi Che Guevara wannabe Ulfric in that faggot cart and close the game.

GENERAL PURPOSE INSTALL GUIDE using MO

First thing is always "Read the installation instruction". Sometimes it's a readme, so readit. It usually won't include instruction for MO specifically, just use the instructions for Nexus Mod Manager. If it tells you of a NMM limitation, don't worry about that, you're above them peasants.

Then, depending on whether you found your mod on the nexus repository or otherwise:

DON'T click that big green Download button at the top, instead go the "Files" tab, then the big green button here. That way, you know what you get. You can usually take the first link.
Choose "open with Mod Organizer". (Mod Organizer opens and brings the mod in the downloaded tab)

THEN

If there is an installer provided in the mod, MO detects it and runs it. DON'T EVER RUN A MOD INSTALLER OUTSIDE OF MOD ORGANIZER, because your modded skyrim doesn't exist outside of MO. That way, you keep everything clean even when you fuck up. Let MO do it itself.
If there is no installer, MO detects the folder structure and just copy everything accordingly. Thank the modding community for that. Said structure is a single folder named "data" or just the archive, which contains data folders (meshes, scripts, sounds...), esp/esm (the mod "active part") and any readme. Sometimes, MO will not find this standard structure (cause mod author fucked up). Just read the prompt and tell him where the data folder is in the archive. You will see when it happens.

Sometimes, mods come as a main file and an update. That make to mods with the same name. MO will ask "do you want do replace or merge". Replace to delete the old one, merge to update.

THEN

The installed mod appears in the left tab. Check the box.

Under the plugin tab on the right panel, there is a list of plugins. Those are .esp or .esm, the active parts of your mods. MO always activate those upon activation, but some bad mods have several incompatible esp, so check the ones you want. Don't worry though, most mods use an installer to choose which esp to install, so you don't have to.

Right panel, plugin tab, there is a button named "order" or something. Use it anytime you touch the left panel (that means install, uninstall, activate, deactivate). It knows best how to load the mods.
Notice also the warning triangle at the top of the MO window. Sometimes it tells you to change the order on the left panel. Just say yes. That one alert about files in your overwrite mod can be safely ignored.

Now those two mod order, the order in the left panel and the order in the right panel under plugin, they are very different.
The left panel is the install order. If you used NMM or just dragged and dropped files into the skyrim folder (which nmm really does), then that would be order in which you'd do that. Top of the panel is overwritten by bottom. Change the order of the mods to reverse the overwrite. That's what MO the best. Try to follow install instructions and just let the warning triangle alerts sort it, and you should have no problem.
The right panel under plugin, that's the load order. Those esp are loaded when you launch skyrim. Use the auto-order button, it works incredibly well.

Here are the first mods you should have. Those are either a prerequisites for everything or just make the game playable. They are all found on the nexusmods repository.

That's the nude mod for girls. There are two nude mods out there, CBBE and UNP. I use CBBE as there is more content for it, new armors, clothes and accessories.

Remember how you installed SKSE? There are two utilities you need to install the same way. They are required for other mods to work.

>Wrye Bash
Fixes major incompatibility case:
When you install "Cloak of Skyrim", cloaks appear in the world. The mod takes every random item list and adds cloaks. When a barbarian spawn, he wears armor and stuff, and now he can wear a cloak. You open a chest, you can find randomly potions, weapons, and now there's a possibility for a cloak.
Then you install "Devious Devices". It will add soul gem magic vibrators. The mod takes every random item list and add dildos. And now there are no cloaks, because there is only one list and the last mod to replace it wins.
Wrye bash is a mod manager, just like NMM and MO, and it's better than NMM but not nearly as good as MO (too old and complex). But! Wrye Bash includes a tool to create "bashed patch". It reads all your installed mod, record their modifications to item lists, and create a new list including everything. Now you can have dildos AND cloaks.
Follow pic related : DL wrye bash, install it where it tells you to (you can use a provided installer if any, cause this is not a mod). Add the newly created exe to MO, launch it (from MO), find the bashed patch esp. If there is no bashed patch esp, right click in the white part under the mods, file>bashed patch. Then right click "Rebuild bashed patch".

You will need to rebuild a bashed patch any time you install, uninstall, activate or deactivate a mod that changes the leveled list. If you delete a mod and forget to build it, MO will tell you in the warning triangle alerts.

I play with very few graphic mods. I included the important ones above. Other mods exist, but they have a performance cost. Keep in mind that you're playing a game: if your character doesn't respond quickly, you lose your immersion, then your boner. A 40 frames per second game with a regular look is easy to get into. A photorealistic slideshow less so. That said, if you've got a warmachine with a titan and stuff, please use tesgeneral.com for suggestions.

Usually involve a continuous treatment on top of everything else, like computing light effects or managing particles. Always has a performance cost, you choose what you can afford.

ENB:
You will read about those everywhere. They make everything look better or worse. Usually both, depending on where you are. They're not useless, but hard to install (harder than anything else on this guide) and hard to choose cause there are so many of them. They're also quite performance heavy. Use only on a warmachine.

Happens a lot to me, like every 10 hours of play. You have to:
-load a previous save that did not have the problem.
-make a new save
-open console (key between escape and tab, left of the numbers on whatever keyboard you use) and type "player.kill"
-you die and the game load the save you just made.
-from here, load the save that CTD. It should be able to load this time.
-again, "player.kill"
-you die and the game loads the previously bugged save.
-Now make a new save, this one should work.

You can play as a male, though there is less content. Check out lover's lab and others. With the mods I included, it mostly involves raping girls you see in the game, or playing normally until you're attacked by bandits or guards or whatever, which happens all the time. I don't use any myself, but I've read about some devious devices for men, including male chastity belts and the like. Devices like blindfold and collars and yokes can be worn by men too.
In the base SexLab mod, all animations except vaginal can be performed by and on both male and female, with a strap-on if needed. The death penalty one is a bit extreme I'd say. Also I think it would make sense if the prisoner "owed" a number of points, whereas tougher prisons and rules gave him more points so he'd break even much faster! Otherwise, as a prisoner it makes the most sense to choose almost no rules and be a pussy about it so it's as relaxed of an experience as it can be. Would this be easier on javascript? Can they just take a large database with like 50 fetishes with multiple settings each and come up with how much points are they worth, how much do some modify others and such? With a spreadsheet that takes some workarounds but it's otherwise trivial, wouldn't it be a total horrifying mess in javascript?

Though I can imagine it not being such a huge fuss if done right. Such as, instead of a huge table with a row for the equipment, another for each kind of points it awards and such, instead having some kind of variable and them going up and down.
