They can, but more often than not people buy a pill and overdose with god knows what in it. With regard to drinking an assload of Spearmint Tea, that can affect your testosterone. It's similar to getting vitamins from the foods you eat, except it's a different reaction.

Do not actually get on HRT unless you've consulted many doctors and would rather commit suicide than go on any longer without it. Most people regret their choices and become more suicidal since there's no easy way to reverse it. With foods, it's relatively easy to reverse: Get off the diet. The catch is it's not as strong and will take longer. You also need to check your health frequently, which would be done on HRT to make sure that you don't form clots or something equally dangerous. Some people tried taking a bunch of hormone supplements and reported embolisms forming because they didn't do proper health research.

That should be the last guide for that series. Not a whole lot to change in it, the diet stuff is somewhat accurate but it's very miniscule unless you purposefully up every dose of intake, which can be dangerous if not done appropriately.

Lose weight. Go down 5-10 pounds below your goal weight (safely). Go on hormones (herbal or otherwise) for a couple of months, then start to gain weight back up to your goal weight. Because gendered fat distribution is influenced by hormone levels, the shape you will wind up in will be more feminine than had you simply lost the weight.
