I debug-spawned them in groups of ~100 from 1 gene pool each:

The lolis themselves don't do any racial segregation, it's just the positions I spawned them in for debug purposes.

Correct. F5 will revert everything you've done on that page. As long as a new page has not been displayed, nothing's been committed. I'm sure there's some horrible exception to this, but I can't think of it right now.

I haven't played a lot of those type of games lately beside FC, but I prefer the more micro scale that I vaguely remember games like Slave Trainer having, though I don't really care for the focus on cycling slaves through your training for the purpose of fulfilling orders. Need some help, /dgg/.
I'm making a game in Twine, just a learning project before I make the game I'm properly interested in, but I've run into a stumbling block in the planning. In the game, you'll be fighting and kidnapping people for nefarious purposes, and I'm all good on the start of that, but when it comes to the whole "saving the result as a slave" thing I'm kinda lost.

For a simplified example, if you click [Go Find a Fight], I can generate an array of stats pretty easily, and some basic logic for the game to run to make a turn-based fight is quite simple. I've actually got this bit working already through trial and error. Where I'm struggling with is taking the array $enemy and all its stats, and working out how to keep that as a ... whatever the fuck you'd call it. All I can think of is setting some variable like $slavesowned = 0, and then transferring everything from $enemy to $slave_n each combat you win, where n is however many slaves you will own, and then incrementing $slavesowned afterwards, but that sounds really clunky and weird.

I tried looking through FC to find a solution, since that seems to be pretty damn similar to what I want to do, but I got totally lost. Can't even work out what half of this stuff does (no offence FCDev, it's probably at least as much my noobishness as it is your code)

You'll learn as you go man, classes or objects are like containers that can hold shit for you, locations, properties, sprites, a ton of stuff.

Arrays are for just one data type, like an empty shelf.

You can make an object [ ] array just like an integer array [ ].

I'm personally just getting familiar with list, and they seem to be array like with more functionality. I guess a list is kinda of like an array with a spring at the bottem, If I list.remove [3], the ones after bump up.

I tried that. They were slaves from a few versions ago, it really seemed to start when you changed the way sex drive works. Although it might have happened the version before that when I NGPd them over. They've been with me about 5 versions now. Perhaps there's some hidden kraken with keeping slaves that long?

If you want to write thousands of words of narration the medium for you is not that of a game, it's not merely that it offers you nothing that the good old fashioned story format would offer you, but that it actively hinders you since you must shoehorn elements of interactivity in a story which doesn't need them. Doing and experiencing can both be immersing, of course, but in different ways, and one tends to not mesh very well with the other.

A long engaging story, on the other hand, can be done in an h-game, but here as with movies, the same thing goes. Your issue is that your long and very interesting story must be adapted to your medium, such that its exposition can be done right. You don't like films or series where the characters break off and actively narrate their setting or repeat back to you what they know and think. You want to know what they think and you want to know the setting of the story, but you want to understand these things organically, not through hamfisted soliloquys.

In a game the means of exposition are all the text that has to do with the description of the objects and areas you find and all the information you can get through conversation trees. Beyond this, what you are doing and what other NPCs (friendly or hostile, scripted or otherwise) are doing is part of the exposition of the story. This is part of the narrative without being a narration and therefore not hindering the player from navigating the world of exposition at their own pace and on their own terms.

tl;dr: Good exposition in games does not exclude either strong characters or an engaging story. But it requires them to be woven into its world instead of being narrated to you. Hence, small but cumulative descriptions are best.

...Why would you do that? It's all palettes. There's 1 sprite for all 9*10*20 = 1800 hair/eye/skin colour combinations. And then I load a JSON file like pic related and parse it into stuff my engine understands (so an artist could change them without compiling the game). So 1 sprite (per animation - well more than 1, since there's like 5 layers, 2 layers for hair, 1 for body (includes eyes, etc), then 2 for clothes), many palette-swaps. I do the same thing for cars and buildings.

So I guess the answer is the 3rd option. 1 sprite, and any arbitrary palette that I want, although the genetics system only specifies those 1800 possible combinations. I guess there could be more with hair dye or something.

I've never tried to run or participate in a multiplayer erp game. /tg/ would set them up back in the day, when the weekly lewd threads were a thing. They would paste the chat logs from the sessions, and they were full of fantastically gross lewd.

Right now I'm working on a setting that is ideal for both fun adventure and lewd. What I have so far, is that there is a god of sex, debauchery, and orgies. I've almost finished all the in game cultures. They each have different attitudes, customs, and rituals surrounding sex. So far I have the standard fantasy races, plus catboys/girls and centaurs.

To do this, you need to enter the Arcology Management menu and purchase the next upgrade. The first upgrade costs 5.000 credits and its security drones.
The last upgrade for reference is the Spire which costs 250.000 credits.

Well, look at Katawa Shoujo. It's a VN, so there is no management or simulation or open endness that you find in some /d games, and still it needed a ton of people to take it off the ground.
To have a similar result with a /d game, you'd need a comparable amount of people, THEN you'd have to get them to stick together long enough without any egos getting in the way, THEN you'd have to get them to agree on the different fetishes and stuff.

Bullshit. If you picked male, the CHA requirements to unlock the H-scenes are obscene. The only way around it is to grind STR for a few years, or cough up money for that paywall.

The female CHA requirements are a lot lower though, so it's not as bad on that side.

This means that if you don't access the same data structure frequently, access non-sequential addresses, or access and delete conditionally (as you would in a game), then the data you're using won't be cached. And in those cases a linked list would be better for deletion.

Which is a moot point. You should be using array lists, not only because you gain the benefits of both arrays and linked lists, you also get dynamic memory management and search algorithms built in (depending on the language). The only alternative worth considering is a hash map / dictionary for ease of use.

This definitely appeals to me.

I'd been wondering about the mindbroken slaves a while back; that there might be room for a more detailed implementation of such damage. That perhaps before breaking, a slave might develop phobias - perhaps one equal and opposite phobia for each fetish? - and then persistent exposure to the object of their dread might sometimes drive them into the familiar catatonia of mindbreak. If you cared then you might put a slave on domestic servant duty when she developed a terror of dick, until she'd had time to recover psychologically.

For me it's less about the H scenes at this point and more about the cruel emotional damage I can do to these people if I choose. The Stockholm-syndrome worshippers in the master suite, the whores in their world of endless hate for each other and terror of their mistress and their users, the broken meat-things in the holes or the dairy... it's all good.
