Honestly, I think the main challenge of learning image editing is just realizing what kind of tools would make your job easier. Once you know that, you can google around to see if those tools exist (they probably do), and find dozens of easy to follow tutorials from all the people trying to make a buck off the e-education fad.

/tg/'s CYOA general also has tons of guides on how to make a CYOA look pretty.

Update on Monster Girl Survival Allies 4.0:

1) Several of the monstergirls haven't yet been translated; they have a wiki page, but it's blank. So I have to leave holes in the image to add them in when they get translated.

2) I don't know where the creator of 3.0 got the height and weight stats, since they're not actually given in the encyclopedia.

3) The image filesize is too large to upload to 4chan. I might end up making the images narrower after all, since that was requested, and it seems I have to make them smaller in some way.

If you download the image or open it in a new tab so you can zoom in on it, you should be able to read it clearly. I can fiddle around with different fonts and maybe bump it up one or two points, but I'm already having trouble fitting descriptions into the framework I set up for some of the monsters that require more explanation.

Another thing I just realized is that, if I do a gradient (or any kind of background other than white), then my images have white boxes around them, because I just have the images off the MGE wiki and I don't know how to make the image around the actual monstergirls transparent.

Just opened up the hellhound to futz around with it.
When it opens up, go to Layers -> Transparency -> Add alpha channel. Then use the magic wand tool ot select the white space and delete it. You should get a grey/black checkered board; that's transparency.

There's some white space (Between her hair, her thighs/hand) that you'll have to magic wand there, too, but if all the monster girls are as high quality as her, then it should be quick and easy.

Make sure to feather edges, maybe mess with the threshold settings.

Shouldn't take more than 30 seconds for each picture.

My recommendation for making a CYOA is to put it all into a word document first, then plan out your document using rulers before committing to everything. It's a pain when you realize you've ran out of space and there's no good place to stop.

Throw in an 'heirloom' option. You, and your contract, will last forever. Default, when your partner kicks the bucket, the Queen will partner you with another, random, succubus. Add options where you can pick the sucessor yourself, make your partner immortal too, or, (most expensive) get out of the succubus business for good, and you've got a point sink option which will give players a very tempting option to budget in.

This is a really good point. You're making a CYOA inspired by Slut Life, since you like the concept... but just copying all the stuff Slut Life has is probably the wrong way to go. Instead, try and put your own unique spin on things.

Slut Life has a lot of everything, with magic and tech both sort of floating around with minimal explanation. You'd probably be better off picking a narrower theme and developing it more deeply. For instance, maybe you're developing the tech thing, and the player has agreed to some kind of contractual indenture as the pleasure servant of some rich fuck, and is getting all kinds of kinky bio/cyber-mods as part of the deal. Alternatively, you can play up the magic angle, and go into detail about some kind of magical contract with a lewd magical entity, and the various sorts of carnal magics they can offer the player, in exchange for their submission to sexual 'training'. Either way, you'll get a better result from a narrower focus.

It isn't going to be a straight copy, since that's not what I want. Slutlife had a very strong creation, but was a bit weak on the companions. I want to fix on that.

The jist of it is that you're a familiar, summoned to the world, and end up getting an owner. Owners run the gammut from doms to subs, from humans to monsters, but rather than just being static things, I want the focus to be on change. Rare CYOA's have 'events' that help with the post-creation process, so I wanted to see if I couldn't use that to make a 'post-game'. Quick example:

Hesai; a succubus going to one of the schools, has summoned you up. Unlike other succubii, she has little interest in sex, instead turning her interest over to magic. However, she still needs sex to survive, so you expect nights of plowing her while she does other things, like reading a book or writing her papers. Due to her focus on learning, she doesn't have any friends, but isn't disliked

Hesai would have the traits of:

Forced Trait: Penis
Low lust, low love, medium respect.

Tags will cause issues, or help resolve events. Forced Trait is just that: You'll get a penis. If you already have one, your points will be refunded. Lust/Love/Respect is how she views you, and can change due to events, and cause events of their own. A Yandere that ends up achieving high love or lust with you will cause her own events.

There's a lot of moving parts right now, so I'd just like to focus on what's simple: Making that body, as well as any 'complications' with the rituals (Missing limbs, Required rituals like having to be fed by another, or requiring cum daily).

The basic idea is for the player to be a kind of hegemonizing, self-replicating evil unleashed on the world that distorts the morality and behavior of people to grow. Each magnitude of followers grants a certain amount of power, capping out around a billion people (unless you have some way to cause explosive population growth, maybe), allowing you to do bigger and more grandiose effects capping off with the total transformation of the world to your liking. But there are forces at play that will fight back if you're too overt, and a passive resistance from the world's established systems of morality if you're too subtle or weak. Sort of like Pandemic, if you were sexy futanari Sauron turning everyone into dickgirls who love giving and getting meat (or whatever else the player wants).

Game starts would probably be a) a sealed ancient evil al a Sauron or Cronus, where you're extremely weak to start but have the highest maximum power. b) a forgotten deity who has middling power who went dormant to preserve themselves, with average stats. c) an upstart human or lesser immortal who's stealing divine power, with strong stats to start but limited growth unless you cannibalize other cosmic beings, which cause their concepts to bleed into you unless you're already very powerful and self-willed.

You'd be able to give various bonuses to your followers, some of which will be more obvious and dangerous to you than others. Options to take over can range between open war, starting a new religion, to corporate expansion and putting chemicals in the water. A major theme will be that people are your followers simply by resembling or reacting the image you create for them- i.e.: you don't have to turn every single person into dickgirls, but if dickgirls become the foundation for all discourse about gender and sexuality, you've basically won because you've made the way everyone thinks into a reflection of yourself.
