Remember, it isn't literal. Treating the kanji for 背伸び as literal is how the translation fucked up in the first place. FF7 had one of the worst translations in the series while 6 had one of the best because Woolsey knew what a figure of speech was and adapted things accordingly. Which sadly got tossed out as fans demanded things "closer to the original" and they ended up sounding like stock scanlation phrases.
