Well there is a good amount of art with burps out there, but A LOT of it is not really worth while. A lot of single images with the word burp written on it with no real good expression on the character's face.

The general build up of gases in a sequence and the pay off is what gets me into this. Anyone agree or is it the overall burp itself?

Absolutely! Comics and stories that talk about gasses building or the stuff leading up to a burp is fantastic!
A picture of a burp is good, but seeing what caused that burp is better.
This applies for me in stories too. I single sentence that says, "she burped" without any supplemental stuff does nothing for me.
However, stories and sequences are just perfect when they go into detail about how the burp is building, how the girl feels before and after, and the overall description of the burp.

There was this pastebin story I found of a knight sent to stop a sphinx who'd been robbing various merchants passing through a pass, only to find that all of the merchants she'd robbed had been carrying food, so she'd ended up chubby and very, very gassy. It culminated in him tricking her into eating more and getting stuck, whereupon he proceeded to fuck her as she belched and moaned with each thrust. Anyone else seen this? I don't have it anymore.

For sure. The tummy noises and discomfort are A+++, the burps are basically inconsequential, though it's nice seeing how much gas was in there.
