Can someone explain this please?

From what I've seen and read both on half chan and cripple chan /d/ for the last 3 years, mods have a distain for these threads. For what purpose?

I get they can have a tendency to turn into badly written fanfiction with someone elses work slapped on, but I don't see that as a reason to prune the threads.

Writefagging has apparently been given the go ahead, and obviously normal artwork is fine too, what's the issue with the middleground?

Not only are they fine threads to have, but banning them has sent people like Elzi away to cripplechan just to do their thing.

I find all of them work well, you just find the style that looks right to you and what fits the image. If I see a prompt that gives me a lot of ideas then it often becomes a dual panel, otherwise I stick to single. Wrapping and laid on are good for quickies where you don't have as much to say but still like the image.

Honestly it really depends on how you want to write the caption. Single panel is pretty general purpose and be used for almost anything of any length. Laid on, wrap around are only good for short captions. Double panel or any wacky format has almost no use and usually makes the caption look like crap, except for a few niche captions.

Example of an on image caption I wrote a while back, this is already pushing it in terms of text. I wouldn't write much more than this for that style of caption.

It's not that there's a narrative, it's that it's forced in. Even on sad panda, rewrites get lower scores in general with fewer reviewers. Generally, people just don't like rewrites.

Bad writing in porn flies because 99% of the effort went into the visuals, whether it's actors fucking themselves arthritic or artists slaving for weeks or even months over drawings.

Captions and rewrites don't do that. When you make the bad part and only the bad part, but it comes off as delivered with the smugness of improving the picture, you get all the hate.

Was contemplating capping this one, but don't have the inspiration at the moment. The jist of the idea:

Random white nerd boy starts playing Pokemon Go, complains about it taking so much walking to hatch eggs, wishes there was a faster way to incubate them. Then, one day, a special incubator drops or something (I haven't played the game, so I don't know the details of how that might happen) and it says it works at double speed! So naturally, he uses it. If someone makes a claim, and someone denies it, it falls on the claimant to prove their words, not the denier, especially when the denier does, in fact, have evidence to the contrary. If you're in court, and you're accusing someone of crashing into your car, is it up to the defendant to prove, beyond reasonable doubt, that yes, he definitely did do that?

We're on 4chan, not tumblr. If you want to claim something, you'd better be damn ready to back it up. You and the other anon cannot back it up beyond your own insistent words, while I've posted archive links that prove that the picture that started the shitstorm was not, in fact, CP, which was the original claim.
