it's a trope. You can check it out on tvtropes, but the guy who coined it was an internet reviewer called SFdebris who referenced it in regards to certain plot holes found within the Star Trek universe.
It refers to a specific instance in the novelization of Jaws: The Revenge where the author needed to have some sort of explanation for how the shark was able to follow the family to the bahamas from the original location. Since that WAS actually a plot hole in the original film, and no explanation was ever given there, the author pulled the explanation of a voodoo curse out of his ass just to have SOMETHING to explain the plot.
Thus, a voodoo shark comes to exist when any sort of actual information just creates more questions than it answers.

That's an issue with post corruption pics of existing characters. If you want a drastic transformation involved in the corruption (which I usually do), oftentimes the result leaves the character almost unrecognisable.

Look at Chunners in the pic there. It's reference to her ending in the original SFII, where she lets her hair down. But dressed as a Shadaloo doll, without her hair buns, only people that get the references would realise who she was without the name in the corner.

BTW starting this year is a prequel story for Danganronpa 2 (which is marketed as a sequel called "Danganronpa 3: Zetsubou-hen". Go figure). Which will likely have HEAVY corruption-based elements.
The basic concept is that the big bad from the first game has corrupted a group of people (including the one pictured) to embracing "despair" and...well basically killing people in "special" ways.
The mere premise of the two new sequels (Zetsubou-hen and Mirai-hen) actually spoils a major plot twist of the second game, which is kind of a shame.

But, if you played the second game, it's an opportunity to see the character after they get influenced by "Ultimate Despair."
And given how the one whose personality reverts to her "Ultimate Despair" version during the game (pictured) acts...it might be a good watch.
I know the games are good at least.

Not intentionally. The artist just happened to like slutty rock groupie style corruption, and seeing as Wiked Lady is one of the iconic anime corruption victims...

Corruption is just a blessing with bad PR.

Any decent artists that take corruption-themed commissions? It's more of a /co/-themed thing, but the Gentry from the Multiversity comics would be a great theme for corrupted looks/outfits.

Happened to me too. Corruption/mind control/transformation of either sex was of equal interest to me. I remember being four years old and watching Ulysses 31's crew being transformed into pigs and not knowing why it was my favourite episode.

Probably held true until turned around ten when it became focused on only female characters and male MC and tfs felt like missed opportunities to have done it to the female characters.

On another note, I almost have a fully translated first draft of a script of pic related. I am not great at Japanese so its 100 % accuracy is not going to guaranteed, but it should be much more than good enough. I have never translated stuff like this before, so I have a few opinion questions I was wondering what you guys thought of:

1) The title as listed on exhentai is a mistranslation. I am pretty sure the team is supposed be called Tri Brighter, not Tribe Writer. That is really Japanese though, should I call it "Tri Rangers" or the "Light Trio" or should I just keep it as "Tri Brighter"?

2) I have zero photoshop experience, so the best I can do without a substantial delay is add the words at the bottom of each image in paint. Is that a huge dealbreaker for people? What do you guys think I should do?

Thanks for the feedback.

I think what I will do is review my draft and make some changes, making the dialogue more natural and such, and then post that as well as the original Japanese script which I transcribed.

That way if someone wants to improve on it in some way it is a lot easier for them. The number one time waster in doing this was kanji so small it was hard to identify.

If nobody volunteers to edit the script on the textless pages, I will eventually do a functional but unimpressive version myself.

And yeah, balancing a full time job and doing this in basically one week was not something I recommend, considering my Japanese is so basic it took me way longer than it would for a real translator. I only had patience because I have wanted to see this translated for years and it seemed like if I did not do it myself or pay to have it done, it never would be.

Also: If anybody has a better grasp on the language and would not mind clarifying a few sentences I had trouble with, please post a throwaway email or something where I could contact you. It would be appreciated.

Absolutely not. Something is better than nothing. As long as you have a translation, you can easily make a bounty on g.e-hentai to scrub the text (if there already isn't a clean version available).

Ditto. Interesting to note, in the original script, she is successfully corrupted into a bestial creature (Tim Curry's character would have sent most of the movie as a werewolf and only revealed himself as Satan at the end). Tom Cruise's character would have broken into their bedchamber as Lily and Darkness were consummating their relationship, and she would have tried to kill him. He KILLS her in the original draft. (Though she came back to life at the end.)

Another scene that gave babby-me a proto boner was the two girl in Big Trouble In Little China being mind-controlled by Lo Pan's lieutenant.

Some tropes are a little non-indicative, but the ones with weird names tend to have pop culture explanations or there's not really a way to explain them easily in one title.
"That just raises further questions!" is the alternate way of explaining "Voodoo shark" in my mind, since that's basically what it is.
I'll always explain the concept with the short 30 second scene in the Futurama episode "The Deep South" where Zoidberg's undersea house is burned down.
"Jumping the Shark" is probably a harder one to fully explain, since "the point when a series starts to suck" is remarkably subjective, yet it's one of the classic tropes.
As an example, I always believed the Naruto anime jumped the shark when they had the stupid Shinobi Race. But that was about ten YEARS ago, and the series continued on strong with other people for a long while after.
