Because the only difference is that shortstacks have big butts and wide hips. Those stats do provide a small value bonus but it's negligible maybe +3-4 if both maxed. I don't mind petite slave that are also shortstack but they can't be disproportionate.

No. Just no. That implies the majority of those "games" are actually reccommendable and you can basically pick any of the games on that site at random and it will be reasonably good.
The thing about TFGamessite though is that 80% of the site is riddled with stuff that never got past alpha stage and the admins never bother to delete.
Some of that unfinished stuff is worth playing despite this but searching for a game at random will most likely result in a game that didn't get past the early concept phase.

Do not blanket mention it to someone asking for reccommendations from a sub perspective. That's like if someone asked for dom games I told them to just go to nyaa and asked them to grab a hentai game at random as most of them will be from a dom perspective (and it's as frustrating to then find out you'll have to fiddle around with PC settings to get them to run just like RAGS games, inform7 games, etc).
Sure, they will find a ton of things there but the noise-to-signal ratio is insane.

Quick question of the day /d/, what do you prefer in regards to Transformation content: Slow changes that occur as little tidbits throughout a game, or single dedicated scenes to the transformations. Some mix of both?

Heading off to work and I wanted to get some ideas and opinions to think over while I'm stuck there.

In a horror theme I like slow change against the protagonist's will.

I posted this two threads ago for a new "dev" who was asking for feedback/ideas/wanted to get started and it also holds true for updates from any /d/ev as far as most people in this thread goes:
We mostly just care if you happen to have a working game/update that we can test.

Sure, we can provide ideas and "feedback" on potential things you'd want to include but in general we just care about new builds.
And similarly, setting yourself public artificial deadlines doesn't do you any favours, both because you might feel disappointed in yourself for not meeting them and because we end up not taking them seriously (and not caring) or criticizing the game too harshly because of the delay.
Just don't set them up in public, have them for yourself in private if you want but only inform us if you have a new build or if you are asking for help from other devs or using the thread as quick way to gauge interest in what new features might be worth prioritizing (if you are undecided between two or three).

Just my $0.02 for what they are worth.

Slow or fast are relative concepts. You cannot pose them as a binary question but rather have to put them on a scale.

How slow or how fast are we talking about here from 1 to 10 if 10 is instantly and 1 is "over a couple of years" (to put both extremes)?

Also, are we talking about permanent or temporary transformations?

Maybe I'm overthinking it but I feel not everyone might agree on what they mean by "slow" when they reply to you

I'm not super big into actual TF stuff but I usually prefer it on the slower side. My very favorite part of anything is when the character reacts to the way their body is changing and a slower transformation gets you more of that kind of dialogue. Like I go really far out of my way tracking down all these shitty japanese h-games just for single lines of dialogue about characters embarassed by their huge boobs or feeling restricted by how tight their clothes are becomming.
If you're making it an actual game it can be really neat to unlock new abilities over time as your character's body changes. Like in Boobjitsu Matriarch if you get super long nipples you unlock like a spear attack, if you have spectacular nipples and aereola you get a self sucking attack that makes enemies dicks explode with envy, and when you're absolutely tremendous you get a full body breast tackle that crushes enemies so strongly that it drains all their stats.

And just to help sort the confusion over "fast" or "slow". From my stand point I thought of fast as:

While slow was

For the sake of my game, my plan for TF's is to try a soft mix of slow with a bit of fast. It'll work much like weight gain does in the game, where in the character shouldn't just get curvy or fat all of a sudden (unless its relevant to an encounter or in some limited fashion), it should be something that has to be acquired and built up over time.

The TFs will be triggered when one's mutagen bar fills, and a short scene will display the new transformation part that's been acquired (getting taller, larger breasts, changing skin color, horns, scales etc.) but what I'm debating is whether I should add more "transition" to that.

For example. does the transformation just make you taller in a sudden, sweaty, painful growth spurt or do I make it an over time effect where the player gets that same growth spurt but over a few in game hours with little intermittent messages about how it feels.

The issue with that is, what if one gets stuck in the transition of a mutation they don't like. Say, the mutation is forcing body weight away from one's ass and into ones breasts (or whatever the player doesn't like). Should it be something that can be canceled?

Definitely this. I was about to head on KAT to download it and see if it's legit but when I saw the patch notes I didn't even bother. New feature is a weekend event where you can hang it friends (who still probably want to bone you like everyone in the goddamn game) and only notable "fix" is character description now lists who you lost your virginity to.

I went hard on that game for like a month. I loved making custom NPC's and try out different playstyles (Sultry or shy, professional or total slut, etc.) but damn the dev is one of the slowest that I know of. Takes a month just to add a few events that don't change the game in no significant way. He needs to figure out how to bring multiple guys back home or cave in and add actual rough content.

I agree, I certainly don't want to punish experimentation, but I also really enjoy the risk of RNG and I want there to be more interesting "player character questioning whats happening to there body over time moments".

Along side the normal "get TF in piece-meal, stop when you want" effects, there will be some that work over time like a poison. The poison will act for x number of ingame minutes and will continuous do y to the players body.

Using the item is the players choice, sure, but the continuous effect might not be. Again, meaning someone can be stuck with something they don't like. Not great.

Obviously I can just put in "antidote" type things that stop transitional transformations, but that doesn't feel like a perfect solution.

I suppose it could be something simple in the options: Choose your TF type, Piecemeal, Transitional, or Both.

That way if you get off on semi-player derived body horror, ill gambling effects and leaving your fapping up to RNGs, you can still enjoy them without players being punished if they don't like getting stuck in a time based TF.

Luckily its not a actually a whole lot more work. I already have a lot of toggle systems set up in the game options, so it'd just be a few more on the list.

The tedious part would just be double checking any transitional TF effects with the toggle flag and making sure there's a piecemeal version to replace it. Reversals, while certainly more intuitive are also a lot more work. I'd have to set up some sort of TF tracking log that can figure out how far back it needs to push the player by remembering all the previous stats prior to each TF. Some sort of autosave system I guess.

In the game lore, transformations aren't an easy thing to overcome, its more about mitigating exposure and reducing mutagen levels when effected or using more desired mutagens to suppress the less desirable. The people seek a cure but most "cures" don't work well, have side effects or are very expensive.

Either way I do plan on having in game "cures" for sure. Whether its use for "plot" purposes or just becomes a general player item I'm not sure yet. Maybe it'll depend on a sort of "difficulty level" like >>6842982 suggested. I still fail to see how the dating sim and the dungeon crawling parts are connected in your game. It really sounds like they are two separate parts of the game, connected only by story, and if that is the case, it's bound to feel like you slapped one on top of the other.
Simply grabbing some elements from this game and others from a second and again others from a third, does not guarantee a good game, even if those elements themselves were good. You need a proper concept for making it feel like they actually belong together and form one consistent game.
There have been plenty of games mixing genres successfully, so it can be done, but dating sim and dungeon crawler sound too different to properly work together to me. But maybe you'll have the one genius idea making this mix possible.

Why address the language part in the first place?
In LOQO 1 they went from Egypt to Greece and nobody ever wondered about languages.
Also bringing up Satan is just utterly unnecessary. You already have magical time travel, so you can easily have magical understanding.

Just using time travel isn't exactly using the actual story either. Time travel isn't the plot, it's merely one element of the plot. It's like saying Arlo & Spot uses the story of Jurassic Park because both have dinosaurs.

So far I have to agree with it being a pretty big mess, as I don't see the connections of anything. It reads like you just threw a bunch of unrelated elements together, gameplay and character wise, without any sort of story or plot or any idea on how it would actually work together in the end.

I don't understand. I like LoQO but dislike the story Gabe has started in the second one about the An'Terra and how origins is turning out and the overall grind for content. Taimanin translation bores me at the first few sentences but I love the art in the games and the animation and have a strong interest in the actual story.

The dating sim part will basically cover consensual vanilla shit while the dungeon crawling will cover the rape and other stuff lilith is known for.They won't have any direct effect on each other.Dating sim will let you romance one or more of the heroines while Dungeon crawling will let you see rape and other shit and will progress the story. You are going to help Asagi try to stop Oboro and Osira. The dungeon is their lair and you are trying to reach them on the last level.
There will be corruption that goes up when the heroines are raped or engage in h-stuff not with the protag. Once their Corruption levels up they will be more active and willing in getting fucked and other stuff. Corruption won't we reversible but you will be able to reset the progess of the current level of it.
I feel they can be mixed and done well it is just how it is executed. Like in persona in how you go with your daily life with no shit coming from the dungeon and in the dungeon there is no mention or aspect of your daily life in play. While the daily life unlocks crafting options and bonuses you can go without it and how no consequence comes about if you don't choose someone to join the party or let them die.

That's only because TrapQuest is the entirely wrong genre for that type of command input.

Text prompts were created for retro adventure games where they would describe a room and you'd have to interact with the description of the room. This makes the game feel MUCH more immersive because you can interact with virtually anything described in the game and players can be clever about what and how they interact with the game world.
e.g.:
>You stand in what appears to be an average living-room... which strikes you as odd since you just stepped out of an elevator going to the 34th floor of your office building. A long, brown leather couch faces a wide-screen TV. A similar leather loveseat hugs the adjacent wall, angled slightly towards the TV. Please help guys: looking for a game that I have played in the past but can't remember the name.

It was played in a browser and it was basically a management-style game; you were a demon summoned into a modern... motel I think... and you overpower the summoner and make her your slave. you then enslave the manger and anyone else staying there, then branch out renovating rooms and training the slaves to generate more mana for you, and more success at kidnapping passers-by.

Was a fun game with a modern-fantasy setting that has completely disappeared from my radar entirely.

In your notes, you describe it as,

Which is a shame because I love how NPC's can take control of the sex scenes. I wish NPC's were more forceful, making us pick choices that wouldn't go for to save face (say, offer ass to keep virginity) or just be fully used in the bathroom at the club. Off-topic, but actually what happened (in the original civ) was that his aggression level was set to 1, the lowest possible aggression score in Civ. But when you adopt certain governments -- in this case, democracy -- it's supposed to reduce a leader's aggression level.

But since Gandhi is already at the lowest value possible on the scale, it caused an integer overflow (think about how if you roll back an analogue clock set at 1:00, by an hour, it becomes 12:00. Or a car's odometer set at 00000 rolled back by one step becomes 99999). Though in the game's case Gandhi would go from 1 aggression to 255. And the staff thought it was so funny something of that nature was intentionally added to every civ game afterwards.

The nuke willingness was something from Civ 5 added intentionally, and not the original bug.

There's a ton of ways to split up with your "main" boyfriend. The easiest one is probably to repeatedly hang up on him when he calls. Been working on this game for a few weeks now.

Wanted something like Trap Quest, but where everything is point and click only so you can play with only one hand. ;)

It's browser based so you don't have to download some special player, and I built a system so you can mod the images, levels, and scripts.

Got a fair amount of the groundwork laid down. Can view the character, equip clothes in an inventory menu, activate objects in the room, move from room to room, view your stats, and save and load the game state.

Still got a lot to go though. Gotta generate a whole map from rooms, fill containers with loot, add npcs who can fuck you and stuff, and I should probably figure out what I'm gonna do with the plot eventually.

Any thoughts?

The simple difference between dom and sub games is agency. The gaming medium thrives because it allows the players to actively impact the world and make choices, but that has drastically different relationships with dom and sub intimacy.

It's fairly easy to make an elaborate dominant game because the player has all the choice upfront. You decide to be cruel or caring towards your sub, to push them or let them rest, to use them for your own pleasure or tease them to no end. The dominant has all the agency from the start, which makes it easy to design management games, training games, and conquest games.

Likewise, it's really easy to write fairly linear sub games by focusing on what the master does to you. That's why places like TFGamesSite are full of fairly linear "become girl, get dicked" games, because it's easy to chain a few scenes together and call it a sub game. Unfortunately, they tend to lack player agency, which makes them less appealing from a gaming perspective.

If someone wants to make a good, complex, compelling sub game, they need to focus on how subs have agency. For lack of a better term, they need the Way of the Power Bottom, someone focusing on manipulating their partners and using sex to achieve their goals. For a dom game, sex is often the reward. For a sub game, it's better to have sex as a means to an end, a way to gain money, power, blackmail, or status.

1) Give the player underhanded goals. Espionage is the perfect example, infiltrating an event and using seduction as a weapon to bypass security, get close to assassination targets, or acquire blackmail.

2) Give the player rivals. An entertainment idol might juggle their fame, artistic skill, and relationship with fellow idols in a world where managers and producers have malicious expectations towards the young women they employ. The player must balance the outward appearance of purity with the knowledge that their various rivals are selling themselves to climb higher up the social ladder.

3) Balance multiple motivations. A handmaiden of the queen might navigate a world of nobility and decadence, with many different characters competing for their own social goals. Despite their role as a servant, the player can use guile, trickery, seduction, blackmail, and other underhanded means to support, foil, or destroy the various rival factions in court.

4) Find a compelling motivation. Your business is about to go under. You need a hundred thousand dollars for your mother's surgery. The mafia got its hooks in your spouse. Barbarians pillaged your kingdom and now you live in the streets as a beggar. Give the character a motivation that pushes them into the sub role, and it gives you the foundation for a more interesting story.

Now that you mention those I notice a lot of those have been explored in anime, manga and videogames involving traps.

Probably because, as you mention, they make for great settings to explore a lot of those concepts.

An experienced (male) crossdressing spy might be able to get to places he couldn't as a guy. Pic related (and the Gundam franchise as a whole) being an example of a different approach to hide the character's real identity.

Has been similarly explored Ryo Akizuki in the Idolm@ster games where he has to deal with those very factors of fame, artistic skils, etc
He got hired first for those skills + his girly looks (before the company knew he was a guy and not a tomboy) and once railroaded in as a "girl idol" finds it hard to find a way out to switch over to a "male career"


Seeing that and your very well explained ways one can design a game from a "sub" perspective I always find it weird when people say they are unable to do so, given there have been already professionally made games and media involving the subject so worst case you could just copy them if you feel particularly uninspired.

Well, the one problem with everything I mentioned above is that it requires a lot of the author's time spent on things that aren't sex.

When people make sex games, they tend to focus on what's going to get the audience off, and that's certainly not a bad thing. Unfortunately for games that want to let the player get off on being dominated, they usually just give the player three choices (get banged, get banged but try not to enjoy it, refuse/run away) and cut straight to the shagging. The author assumes that it's what the audience wants, and designs the game around a linear series of submission situations.

Problem is, player agency as a sub depends on what happens outside the bedroom, the motivations going and the results coming out. When the author just concentrates on the fetish, they tend to ignore those aspects. The result is basically pornographic popcorn, simple, easy, but ultimately unfulfilling.

Different anon here, another angle I haven't seen often is the "proactive sub":
By giving a large range of choices to a sub similar to a dom game, but linking each choice with a corresponding reward/punishment from your dom depending their goals, after you're done.

It can totally reach management game complexity level, especially if several critical stats have to be balanced to keep playing.
