I'd personally put direct tracing as a higher sin, especially for someone who is already reasonably established as a for-profit artist within the community. Copying by-eye is a long established //training// exercise in the art world (I guess you could argue that tracing is too, but it's much more of a stretch), so I wouldn't have any huge interest in throwing her under the bus if it //were// just a sillly little personal doddle in which she gave appropriate credit.
