Dude, it's OK if some of y'all are trans, but there's no need to say anyone who doesn't neatly fit into 1950's expectations of male gender roles is "not cis." Isn't that kind of sexist? this is just something i've learned through skin care in general. i've spent at least 3 years reading up on this, so try to trust me

>if you have to go outside, get a mineral sunscreen (min. spf of 30), eye cream (min. spf of 35) and lip balm (min. spf of 15) to apply even through winter and cloudy/rainy days
>if you plan on putting on makeup, do it after sunscreen (it makes for a decent pre-matte if you get a good one)
>always use a special makeup-removing oil or wash EVERY time you put on makeup/sunscreen. use it before a workout or before you wash your face. NEVER go to bed with anything on your face that isn't a part of your night time regiment

Yeah man, it's a fucking killer. But moisturizer helps with that, too--for me at least, it tends to keep the hair smoother to shave/on a less-dry surface, so you get a lot less nicks and burn. I don't use the fancy face moisturizer on my whole body (because it only comes in small bottles) but using a general body moisturizer can help with stuff like legs, chest, arms and whatever you need to erase. It can even be a cheap one, but it keeps body skin much smoother than bar soap and give less potential for razor burn.

BroTip: shave yo shit LAST after a shower, so the hot water can plump up the hair for maximum shaveage. Apply & re-apply moisturizer or shaving cream to your junk if you shave that, while in the shower. (don't let it go creamless.) My junk & ass are sensitive to this heinous shit, so I've found giving it a rinse with cold water for a couple minutes and letting it air out afterwards help keep from getting itchy. I usually do that while browsing /d/, because sharing is caring.

Oh, these are good tips, too. A big help with skincare is to learn what type of skin you have. There's 4 general types, and you can usually find this out just based on how it looks or feels; but you can go to a dermatologist too, if you need: Oily, Sensitive, Dry, and Combination. Different face shit can make one guy with dry skin look great, but breaks sensitive skin out like a MOFO.

I never go outside, so I rarely bother with sunscreen--but unless you're a Hikki, it's pretty important, even though it annoys the shit out of me. Sun ages skin fast.

Like this Anon said, sleeping in makeup is a bad idea. It cakes in bacteria that'll make you ugly and itchy. It'll also come off on your pillows, which makes shit dirty and grimy.

Use moisturizer on your necks, too--people scare me by saying "look at the skin for signs of aging and maleness," so I guess it helps for longterm upkeep.

Your routine sounds complex, but then again, so does mine when I really think about it. It's a lot of work, but it's worth it if it's something you seriously want. Everyone'll do things slightly different just based on their own needs and skin, but newbies should keep a look out for things that sound consistent in 'successful' trap face routines. look for broad spectrum sunscreen (good starting one is kiss my face. great spreading, decent consistency, comes in spf 30 for relatively cheap, but not the best ingredients i've seen. you can probably find them in drug stores/health food stores)

Aw man, that's OK, m8. I had acne all over for about 10 years of my life... face, neck, chest, back, ass, it was heinous and made me miserable. It wasn't until my insurance covered dermatologist stuff that I finally got some help, but even that took about a year to work.

having childhood asthma helps from a trap perspective in more ways than that, I should know because I had it too.

you'll be more likely to grow up a mouth-breather and that can significantly affect your facial features and make you less robust with a smaller jaw, and smaller/less course facial features. though sometimes this can make you look messed up too and have a bad case of overbite and chances are that if you had braces in your late childhood/early adolescence (also as I did) then you'll be affected one way or another. not making this up btw, was surprised to read about it and many dentists regularly tell children not to be mouth-breathers because they actually get crooked teeth and reduced jaw growth which makes oral hygeine more difficult.

okay, so because i'm about to sleep i think i'll just give you guys a quick rundown for body and hair care

>body
use castille soap as a bodywash. oils make skin very supple & smell good.
use a good back scrubber.
once-a-week to once-every-three-days, use a good brush to dry-brush your skin (look it up) and and use a special back-exfoliator.
try to aim for exfoliating on a shower where you won't be washing your hair.
using exfoliating gloves, rub the castille soap (or just body wash if you want) all over your body. start from the feet & go up.
when it comes to your back, I'd recommend either a good back brush, or a good back scrubber.
follow with a body scrub, then rinse off with cool water.
try not to forget the hands when exfoliating (but be warned, it'll hurt like SHIT to do this with eczema. i speak from personal experience).
always pat dry. never rub, that causes breakage and rashes.
if you use a rag, replace it once every 3 days at the most.
make sure to follow the pat-dry with a THOROUGH body lotioning. do this after every shower & do it while your skin is still moist.
after you let the lotion set in, put on deodorant in your pits (and feet if you have bad foot odor) and then put cologne/perfume on key blood-flow areas (part where the arm bends, wrists, neck, temples, etc.)
before bed, always use a hand and foot cream under moisture lock gloves and socks (you can skip a night if you wanna spend it with someone special, but try to get it the next night).
try to use hand-moisturizer every time you wash your hands. try to take some with you.

only shampoo once every other day. try to aim for your first shower of the day, unless you think you'll sweat a lot during the day, in which case try to last until your last shower or the shower before whatever you need to impress someone with your appearance/scent (i'm guestimating 2-3 showers per day).
if you aren't going to shampoo your hair, put it in a shower cap before your shower. no use in getting it wet if you won't be washing it.
if it's hard to get it into the cap because of length, try putting it into a ponytail first.
if you do shampoo, try to avoid touching your hair with body wash/exfoliating whatever.
on days you shampoo, after brushing make sure to give yourself a bit of a scalp massage to loosen up any dirt that's trapped up there. only use your fingertips, NO NAILS!!
only lather-rinse-repeat if you feel your hair wasn't cleaned with the first shampooing. otherwise, just move on to conditioner.
you can use just one shampoo twice, or two shampoos. if using two, the second one will have the greater effect, so know what effect you want to be amplified in your hair (mine's de-greasing because my hair's a grease ball).
always do the shampooing part in warm to luke-warm water, never hot nor cold. this will ensure the pores of your hair get cleaned out.
once-per-week you should use a clarifying shampoo. always make sure you try to only use shampoos without parabens, sulfates, and alcohol because that will ruin your hair.
leave the shampoo in for 2 minutes, unless stated otherwise

after the shampoo's rinsed from your hair, go to the conditioner.
with shampoo, apply from roots-to-tips. with conditioner, it's tips-to-roots.
make sure to read the directions if you need to rinse out the conditioner after a certain amount of time, otherwise just leave it in for the rest of the shower.
when rinsing out the conditioner, use the shower detangler brush while rinsing your hair with cool-to-cold water. warning, this will sting, so try to make it happen during the first shower.
before sleeping, make like an arab and wrap your hair up. try using either a pure silk (what I'd recommend if you got the dough) or a satin head scarf. try brushing it all back before bed and tying it towards the front of your head.
try not to run your fingers through your hair. it only makes it greasier (my guilty pleasure).
when drying, try to ONLY pat and air dry. if you have to hurry, you can use a hair dryer, but it MUST be in cool-mode the entire time.
make sure to not leave tied up for too long. you can do a couple of hours, but it needs room to breathe.
try to find the pure-elastic ponytail holders or whatever works for you.
make sure to clean the bbb at least once every 1-2 weeks with a good shampoo, warm water, and a tooth brush. also make sure to clean the hair out with a rat-tail comb (or whatever you can get your hands on) at least once every 2 days of use.
make sure to ask dermatoligist about hair (especially if hairloss runs in your mom's side of the family (my biological grandad died at like 30, so i no meet him ;-; )).
if you're trying to grow your hair out long, follow all of these steps & once every 3 months, get it cut 1/2 an inch short & a trip (and get it styled whatever way you want). after you reach your comfort area, make sure to get 1/2 an inch off for each month you spent growing it.

I do this based on my facial hair growth. i lucked out by being blonde, so it only grows to the point where i can shave it once every 3 days. I base this around that, so it might not apply to you. at the very least, try this once per week. I also recommend doing this at night because it can take a LONG ass time.

after washing your face, use an exfoliator specifically made for both your face and face-skin-type.
get some pre-shave oil and rub it all over the entire area you want to shave (neck and lower-face).
put a warm-to-hot rag or hot towel (if you have the appliances available for it) on your face for 3-to-5 minutes. in the mean time, if you're like me and lather your own cream from shave soap, this is the perfect time to do that.
take off the rag/towel and apply whatever lather you're going to use for shaving.
shave on the cheeks, then the neck, then the upper lip. save the sideburns and beard area for last. make sure to rinse the razor in cold water before each shave.
before getting to the beard and sideburns, turn the razor upside down and shave against the grain for the smoothest fucking thing imagineable.
do the shave-routine on the rest of your face, the rinse with warm water again. follow this by rubbing a bar of alum on the areas you just shaved (it helps with microcuts and regular shaving nicks).
wrap a tower around like you're going to whip someone with it, then swing it in front of your face to breeze off your freshly drying skin. then, while it's still moist, apply your aftershave (try to find a 100% alcohol free one).
before putting your razor away, fill a disposable cup with rubbing alcohol and put it in there for like 5 minutes (it'll help to disinfect the blade and help it last longer).
after shaving, move on to a facial mask for your skin-type. follow the directions to the letter, then wash it off & follow with the toner.

I tend to wear clip-in hair extensions instead of growing out my hair, but it can grow past my shoulders as long as I don't cut it for a year. People can see my natural hair under the detatchable ponytail clips, so I still try to keep it decent.

Having a serious lack of a physical job for the past... forever keeps my hands and feet from looking too gnarly, even if they're pretty long compared to a girl's proportions.
