I had this commissioned for an OC of mine, and I'm not going to lie, I can't quite say that I'm totally in love with it. It always just strikes me as off from what I had imagined in my head. Maybe that comes with developing an OC and never really being perfectly happy.

It's because she's very oddly proportioned in numerous places. The position and size of her head, her hands, shape of her hips and uneven breasts. It's by no means bad, but errors like that persisting in a finished and rendered style rather than something sketchier kind of emphasises the parts that aren't quite right.

At the beginning he was happy for me to make a few changes so that the situation looked like it could be enjoyable for the girl, but over time the commissions got more intense until I just felt upset by drawing them. He was commissioning full colour works frequently and I really needed the money but I was working so slow because of how much I hated drawing those pieces.
I felt so much happier once I put my foot down about my rules, even though he stopped contacting me.

I'm currently commissioning someone for a very highly detailed commission involving slow, deliberate growth, two girls (non-OC, from a real franchise) getting a little lewd (not too lewd though) with each other, ripping clothes, and some breast/ass/mild hourglass expansion.

However, they seem like they want to drop it maybe, and I still want to have it done somehow.

Does anyone here feel good with those subjects and have a really good anime artstyle? The previously-discussed price was slightly north of $260, if that entices you. We're talking a good 13 or so pages, minimal background, no contextual set-up, just pure fetish and some speech bubbles here and there, with a few manga-style onomatopoeia words here and there, so you've definitely got to have a grasp of what goes into that kind of production.

This is just doing some preliminary searching, so tell me if you're possibly interested, please. Willing to negotiate most things except the actual content.

I'm am artist burried in shadows and that only draws for himself since I think I still don't have enough skill to sell hentai.

It all depends on how skilled you are and how well known you are.

Prices can range from one thing to another. Look at other artists and compare. What levels are you able to do? Lines, flat color, rendered, extra characters, etc. Probably just go with slightly under what you think you are worth and scale from there depending on the first few round of commissions. If you are good and cheap, people will flock to you for their snowflake OC fucking some Overwatch/LoL character, to which you can raise rates and rake in the money. the problem most have is just being too expensive for what they can give. Also, it can be very lucrative since sex sells, at least compared to non lewd commissions.

You can start by either word of mouth or, as I've come to see, RolePlayers with Original Characters. Fuck if they don't try and shove their pictures in people's faces as much as they can, to others that are interested in having their own art no less. Circulating on places like F-List and similar lewd RP sites, it really gets an artist's name out there surprisingly.

Pic related is one of my own commissions of a special snowflake donutsteel OC of mine. Was like $70 or something, which was a steal for the quality. I think the artist actually hangs about /ic/. Also, go there since you will get much much more than my uninformed and anecdotal say on all of this.

I would like to post some commissions i got in the past, but sometimes I feel wierd when I probably shouldn't. I had some characters commissioned with extra features, like animal parts, multiple breasts and dicks. And I'm working on some comic ideas I want to feature them in. But then when I think about posting them, i start to feel awkward and embarresed. Some artists I follow on streaming sites draw that stuff as well, like multi breasted cowgirls, or herm characters. If you're a well-known artist, it'll be really hard to stay anon. People put two and two together. You can always change certain things about your art but your style may still show through.

If you're only just starting out or haven't made a name for yourself, then it's totally fine. People won't knack on you for drawing weird things if it's something you've always been doing. You'll grow that niche audience whom already accepts you.

A *SUPER HELPFUL* tool for any artist is Design Doll (freeware). I always had a lot of trouble trying to describe to an artist what sort of image I had in mind, but now i can pose the figure myself, take a screenshot (the free version doesn't allow any loads or saves), and then show it to the artist and say "this was the pose & angle I was thinking of".

I'm very interested in trying to break into drawfag scene. I really like tf/tg (particularly mind change/identity loss stuff), and would like creating that sort of work for people. I love the fetish but feel like there's not nearly as much quality work as i'd hope, and would like to contribute some.

I'm not so interested in immediately trying to sell commissions right now. I'm just curious if anyone has any advice for starting? Does anyone know of any /d/ friendly artsts who might be able to pull off some sprites and those sorts of simple animations? I ask for game dev purposes.

Not quite ready to commission right away since I'm currently working on a solo project for my first 'adult' game. Mainly to prove I can actually make shit and not to just be an "idea" guy. I'm hoping I'll at least have a solid demo or short game before summer. But in the meantime I'm checking out artists and I'd like to find some I might be able to work with later on and work out what sort of budget I'll need for some of these projects.

Not trying to make something too ambitious, right now the two main things I'm going for are 2d platformers (In unity) and a BF RPG along the lines of Succubus Quest and Monster Girl Quest using RPG Maker MV.

Pretty sure there are a lot of Pixelartists out there you could contact and comission to do art, and Animators are also not too rare to find, especially since a good animation program just came out which was used by the highest of the high profile animators (Studio Ghibli for example).

I think you could commission saltyicecream, they made extremely well made lewd animations, though I have a feeling that might not be what you're looking for exactly. Maybe if you give a bit more input I could help ya out better (artist myself, so there's that for what it's worth)

Women tend towards rounder, softer shapes. Facial features are often rounded whenever fitting, and smaller (as opposed to angles for males). This is especially notable upon the nose, raising the tip and giving the underside of the nose a slight angle will help give her a younger, youthful appearance desirable in females (but only if that's what you want). Too much and you go towards childish. Also in the contours of the face there are sharper angles; tip of the nose, lips notably.

A big problem with the body shape is the lack of fat deposits that woman possess, and men do not. That's why she ends up looking masculine, those of us attracted to woman have this innate sense, but that's easily remedied with the right resource. So I yanked out a few pages from anatomy for sculptors that I believe will help. The yellow are the fat deposits and all the areas you're going to want to make rounder, and softer to create a shape befitting a female form. Just keep this ref on hand (or get a hold of the book), and simply be aware of the possibilities in your next attempt and I'm sure you'll do better.

I'd normally sell a sketch for $15-$25 dollars depending on complexity, but a lot of that is my own perfectionism at play.

Do you guys feel like there might be interest in shorter sketches for a lower price, drawn in a stream or on flockmod or something where I can feel the pressure to actually draw quick?

The way I was going to charge was "Hourly". If only based on my current level of skill. I guess I'd do sketches for $18-24, about an hour and a half's worth of work depending on the pic. Anything beyond that and it goes up.

I can't draw originally at all, but from seeing people on picarto and what others have said, I think a very good way to start out is to simply draw as much as you can. Like, one of my favourite /d/ artists Tamara (posting one of their pictures <3) often made drawthreads on here and would take requests on how the images went. By drawing quickly and very often you could see all the passion and energy in the drawings while the skills to draw quickly improved with it.

Like how to put it... I think the biggest problem when people drawing hentai/porn is that there's passion/feel vs getting it right. Lots of people focus on the getting it right bit, and they lose too much passion in the process. If you're just starting I think you should focus on doing on speed and feeling, since no matter what, after you do a lot of drawings when you revisit the earlier ones you did you'll either spot soooo many errors, or be able to redo them -much- much better.

Oh oh, and the other reason to focus on getting the basic aim 'feel' of the image right is because what you want most is to arouse the viewer and get them to uncontrollably masturbate. Very simply drawn pictures are capable of doing this as much as highly detailed ones, and it really only takes a few lines to do that.

Every artist I commissioned seemed to be fine with doing a set of 2-3 images.
But I would imagine doing a set of +5 would be taxing on the artist doing it since they might be doing your project for the month.
If I were to go back to them again I would have a new character to do just so I can give the artist more variety.

I think this is as many other things an highly subjective one. I personally dislike doing the same character multiple times since I tend to compare them to the previous picture I did all the time and frustrating myself when it doesn't look exactly the same, but hey, that's just my two cents about it. I think just asking if doing so is okay for the artist in question seems to do the job and I would be suprised if anybody would start a fuss about askin'.

I tried to switch to digital but I loose my mojo when I'm not working the actual paper. I don't know how sending the actual art to a buyer would go though (laws, vans etc).

The first time I got a commission fulfilled, I didn't respond for a while because I wasn't sure what to say.

The artist seemed a little bit panicky and asked if they went too dark with it.

I try to sound appreciative whenever I get the piece.
