The thing is, Miraculous's enemy of the day is always just an ordinary citizen/classmate with an anger/sadness/depression issue that gets exploited by the villain, Hawkmoth, who turns them into superpowered Akuma. I can only really see a possibility of returning in a climactic one-time event (series/season finale?) where Hawkmoth is able to re-evilize everyone without having to exploit their current emotional state.

Alright I'm going to be the contrarian now and state that I hate this already.
It was really kinky and had potential when it first airred but people didn't take any time at all to milk the udders sore and run this into the ground. It hardly even taps into the potential at all because it's just vapid commissions of the commissioners pet fetishes and projections which doesn't even enhance the whole Reflekta concept a whole lot. And forcing this whole thing without any tact is already butchering her into something tacky. I really liked Reflekta but the lack of anyone handling her well yet still forcing it is killing it fast and I'm annoyed that we could ruin great fetish material quickly.

I guess I'll state as an afterthought, the concept and usage in the show was so kinky and brilliant to begin with.

That's why I feel like mining this for all it's worth leads to degradation.

It's one of the weird circumstances where the source material is so pure that you cannot really refine that shit with crazy $$$ skills or fetish art, unless it's well thought and really high quality. It's not impossible but it takes more careful handling.

You're trying to mine for platinum but throwing in iron and rust and the result is inevitably going to degrade and feel less than stellar.

there are some gems among his shorter stories. A couple that come to mind:
-Guys hiking through forest find an abandoned village full of mirrors
-Woman visits her grandma - she says the corpses of dead villagers are waiting for her on the bridge into town
-Some fucking ambien nightmare of a story where a women stumbles across a town in which buildings are so closely spaced that you have to walk through houses to get where you're going so everyone wears masks for privacy. I wish I could remember the name - it's so fucking unsettling.

I mean, they still mostly all end in:

But in those cases the endings fit the atmosphere of the story.
