That breathing quickened when she saw you sitting on the bed further in the apartment. You rose quickly as she shoved past Mamiya and lumbered over to you. Even if you miss her sweets, you haven't quite forgiven her for drugging you and tying you down to that chair.

You watch, rubbing your sore hand, as Aya-chan pitches forward in a stark and loud series of sobs before struggling back to her feet and huffily bolting out the door.

“Mamiya-chan,” you say in a scolding tone, “What was that you were saying earlier about the kind of smothering you like?”

You did not wind up chasing after Aya-chan that night. After all, she was a big girl.

Over the next few days at school, word spread quickly about the drastic change in the once popular underclassman’s appearance. No one could figure out why, but agreed she appeared incredibly sullen and ate like nothing could satisfy her.

It slowed her down for sure, but she had enough of a lead on distance that the stairs proved an equalizer when you took to them. They didn’t slow you down as much as they slowed her down, but the lingering effects of her own efforts on your frame and body afforded her the chance to escape.

Escape what you weren’t sure you were going to say…

It took three weeks, and to your surprised chagrin a loss of six pounds, before you finally cornered your rival on the school roof during lunch time. She sat on a bench, facing the extending building tops and distant suburbia beyond this corner of the city, polished bamboo slats struggling with slow warping sounds to keep her up.

She was right, she had turned habit into effort. There were a score of empty pastry boxes to her side along with an impeccably clean lunch box of surprising size. It was time to take a risk.

Well, two risks.

The first was Aya-chan. The second would be the bench.

“Oh, sorry Aya-chan,” you blush and apologize.

This prompts her to turn to face you. Sudden fury taking her soft features and dimpling cheeks.

“Sorry?! SORRY! He chose you,” she roars rudely through a mouth of moist pastry and cream, flecks falling onto your blouse which you quickly brush away as she regains herself and shoves another cremepuff into her puffy and now tear stained cheeks, “So, just get out of her. Leave me alone and go be happy and fat with Mamiya-senpai,”

She’s angry. That much is certain. Is that fueling her new efforts, the flow of softness that has exploded from inside her heart to encase her like armor?

She stops her furious and tear fueled cramming of pastries and sweets into her maw. Honestly the way she bakes some of them you imagine she’d barely need to chew to safely swallow their most masses down, just the thought of her sweets actually has you salivating a bit. And besides...Mamiya-chan likes it after all.

Pressure takes your wrists as your eyes snap open. Aya-chan holds them together in one pudgy hand clenched in rage as she hauls them up over your head. Gasping in shock, your mouth is wide open as her free hand darts a handful of those decadent cream puffs into your mouth. Too many, as the outliers squash against your lips and leave the now messy hand holds your mouth shut.

“C-chew,” Aya-chan commands in a blushing haze, “Chew and swallow, Katakura-senpai,”

You barely need to as the pressure works its way down your throat and your open your mouth in a wide smile.

“Thank you for the meal, Aya-chan, but please wait,” you manage, throatily sounding, “After you left us like that in the culinary room, Mamiya-chan had me...and every time since hasn’t been nearly as good,”

You offer your case to the now larger and shaking girl. She shudders and breaks as she drops her wrists and with difficulty crosses her hands across her own expansive middle.

After all, you miss Aya-chan’s sweets.

She stares at you confused as you release her and stand from the bench, in front of her you tug at the slack in your still zipped skirt. Her eyes become daggers, offended by the loose waist of your skirt. In a spark you watch her face contort from rage to understanding.

“Why would I want to help you...help you keep Mamiya-senpai all for yourself?” she composes herself and clears her throat with a cough before looking away and trying to look disinterested.

Disinterested and playing with her pony tail, like none of this matter, despite stealing glances at the space you pull along the top of your skirt. You annoy her a touch more and secure her attentions and enjoy her visibly bristle by undoing your skirt’s side zipper a touch to create the illusion of more empty space.

She sits there quietly a moment, before picking up the box of cream puffs and sampling just one for herself.

“Sit down,” she says quietly and selects three cream puffs, you comply readily.
