I feel like you can always edit out the plot and worldbuilding afterward. It will still show in your world's internal consistency, it just won't bog down the reader.

I suppose it depends on the work being criticized. Generally, it's obnoxious and unhelpful. That being said, sometimes it is the only recourse. It doesn't really happen around here, but sometimes the only thing you can do is say "you suck, start over". The same is true when it's obvious that the author has put in no real effort (numerous grammar and spelling errors, continuity errors, etc.). I've written most of the longer criticisms since our move to /d/ and am willing to help as much as it takes, so long as the author is willing to put in the effort. If they're not, or if they're legitimately beyond saving, "get gud" is perfectly acceptable.

No, but it wouldn't be hard to come up with a justification. Imagine, for example, a Warhost dispatched to protect a Maiden World from an approaching Tyranid Hive Fleet. The Maiden World is on the borders of an area of space that the Eldar don't particularly care about (perhaps it's Ork or Chaos-held), so they only need to blunt the one particular tendril threatening their people. The Warhost's fleet arrives through a large Webway Gate, but during the space battle, the gate itself is destroyed. The Eldar are left with a hazardous journey back through the dangerous sector, still ridden with Tyranids and whoever they were fighting against, to find another Webway Gate they can use to return home.

Funnily enough, the story that I'm working on does involve a Maiden World, although instead of Orks or Chaos holding the world it's Imperials with forces of the Inquisition there in the form of Adepta Sororitas. It's an attempt at >>6606449's request.

The Warhost could have been sent to protect or secure the Maiden World for the Craft World, only to find a world besieged by the Tyranids and defended by the SoB. It wouldn't even need to be the Swarmlord. The Swarmlord is generally a stress-response, spawned when the Tyranids encounter something that they can't sweep away with brute force or have their regular Hive Tyrants think around. Certain Tyrants are familiar enough with particular races to understand how to counteract their tactics, so it would be perfectly viable to just use a Hive Tyrant that's encountered Eldar before.

Remove as many distractions as you can or are comfortable with and just start typing. Don't worry if it doesn't sound good or doesn't look right at first, you can edit and revise it later. Just getting something written down is the first step, and from there it should just flow.

It doesn't need to all be at once, either. You can start, go for a little bit, and then stop before coming back when you've thought of what to do next.

For all three of the story ideas that you mentioned I intended for some form of teasing towards the prey before they get swallowed. Vore stories would be a bit too short without that foreplay to it. The foreplay aspect would be especially present with the Slaanesh story what with the whole excess thing.

I really like the suggestions for the Sslyth story, as that really fits in with what the Dark Eldar would do.

As for digestion, I don't mind it, though normally I like to imply it. When it is detailed, though, I try to keep away from the gurostyle.

I'll probably start working on the Sslyth story sometime soon, though, as that seems like the one with the most potential. Thanks for the suggestions.

I don't think we're really all that much slower. Watching pastebin views, we're about on-par with /wst/ from about a year ago, so we probably have about the same total number of viewers. The number of writers and artists really hasn't dropped all that much either. The rate of production is a bit lower, but that can be for any number of reasons. I, for one, have had enough other things on my plate that I've been struggling to find the time to finish anything to my standards. I remember Mask and DLFG saying the same as well. We have often gone through surges of productivity, this may be no different.

That being said, the post count is way down from what it used to be. To an extent, this is an issue. In particular, we've had a decline in requests and a massive decline in requests being filled. There's a good number of ideas in this thread that were never discussed. At the same time, a lot of our post count drop has been positive. When we were averaging 3-4 threads a weekend, half of them were people complaining about tripfags, other people screaming at ND, and other such pointless drivel. We also always had a decent number of trolls and shitposters, even before it got bad.

ok, so, here's another request.

SoB squad is assigned a psyker to scout out a tyranid infestation. They are suspicious and distrusting of him, but he was assigned by an inquisitor specifically for the mission. Unfortunately, things go south due to unforeseen problems, unpredictable elements/enemies, which results in the SoB squad all getting captured. The pysker manages to elude capture and, by his very wits/powers, rescues the SoB squad, earning their grudging respect.

It sounds like an interesting story idea, but there's absolutely no mention of what you want out of the smut. Are the sisters thanking the psyker with their bodies? Sorry, let me elaborate:

Sisters and psyker are sent to recon a tyranid infestation in a part of a hive. Against the psyker's warnings, the squad attempt to answer a distress call from somewhere deep in the city, which becomes a trap. The psyker manages to avoid detection by some method (hiding in a hole, meditation, messing with a tyranid's mind, etc.). The rest of the squad is ambushed and are brought to a tyranid hive, where various tentacles invade their orifices, hold them in place, and allow for the hive tyrants to take their turns breeding with the human women, potentially breaking some of them despite their attempts to resist and keep each other afloat. The psyker, meanwhile, uses his powers to make himself go unnoticed into the hive, tossing around distractions to lure the beasts away from the sisters, while providing a few with some weapons. They then confront the Hive tyrant, kill it, and cause the hive to crumble in on itself.

Afterwards, the squad takes some time off to recuperate, but out of grudging appreciation for the psyker's efforts, allow him to bed them.

I think that's because several threads there focus on cartoon shows or video game characters and there are very few well written smut fics based on videogames.
