One more: the girl's weight has nothing to do with it; even pudgy girls in eastern styles are drawn with smooth curves and minimalist lines and shading. Case in point: hebikana, or even that guy who draws the super wide giant girls. They're rounded and smooth, not lumpy and wrinkled.

In the second two, the face is almost entirely unshaded and low detail, and probably passable as eastern - but totally incongruous with the rest of the body.

If Pogojo can do all of that and still be considered eastern, how can Alloy be considered western by comparison? He doesn't do any of the things you listed (possibly barring some fringe case or ancient picture, anyway) whereas they're integral to Pogojo's style. His faces, samey or not, are no less eastern than Pogojo's.

Don't get me wrong, I like Pogojo's stuff, and pic related is an example of something from him that is both good looking and eastern styled. But for every image like this, there's another one full of lumps and wrinkles. And he doesn't really draw like this anymore. He seems much more interested nowadays in sticking kawaii uguu faces onto fatty, overdrawn, western-looking bodies.

This conversation isn't really going anywhere. I don't think Pogojo is western styled, and you do. After skimming through the size thread on /aco/, they are just as flummoxed about who's art goes where.

While it's extremely easy to tell if a face is western or not, what makes a body western, is apparently nebulous and hard to define. Most of Pogojo's details are in his shading and coloring, which seems Eastern, whereas most westerners would represent these things with solid lines. His women have an Eastern anatomy; larger heads compared to their bodies. They almost always have Eastern styled faces and hair, as you've agreed. Having visible toenails or details such as fingerprints should be a given when the feet are in the foreground. Any artist that pays such heavy attention to detail would include such things. These things seem Western when they are included for no good reason, or at all times.

Also, I've never had a problem with Alloy. Sure, he does ponyshit and he used to be terrible, but he produces some actual gems once in a while and I can appreciate his willingness to experiment with extreme angles.

tl;dr: We're both faggots and there will never be an outcome to where this shit should be posted, so I'm going to say that it's fine on both boards.

Western artists try to imitate Japanese art in a very specific way, forcing themselves to try to match certain elements whilst still keeping a lot of their habits from dsrawing their natural (Western) style.

Japanese artists are drawing their own natural style or if they are trying to force a particular style, when their own style creeps in to it, it's already a lot closer and gels pretty well.

Uru does speak remarkably good English, and is a pretty nice guy.
