I think there are multiple niches in the MC game genre.
The most obvious division is, of course, "dom or sub?", but there are others.
If we took the four frames of this picture, for example, we have:
1: Time Limit: You gradually succumb to the mind control over time. "Victory" is achieved by stopping the person hypnotizing you before you become unable to do anything against them.
2: Mystery: When your character is hypnotized, the game timeskips to afterwards, and you are left wondering "what happened?"
3: Railroading: After being hypnotized, your character becomes subject to secret "rules", and the game will continue as though it's simply natural to do those things, gradually becoming more railroady. e.g.: NPC: "give me your clothes"; PC: *hands over clothes*
4: Sandbox: the game is designed on the assumption that you-the-player want your character to act like a slut. Thus, the game simply presents slutty options, and you do it (and then everyone else is like, "WTF, why did you do that?"). It's a bit like #3 except the game makes you more aware of it.

I think it's not a huge secret that this is one of my fetishes and I was toying with a new quest that's primarily focused around it.
The thing you realize very quickly is that people HATE playing a mind controlled character, even if it's their fetish. It's boring and frustrating. Probably the best way to go about it is to make mind control take the form of contested dice rolls, but even that is finicky and hard to pull off.

Last night I had a really intense experience. I decided to listen to Isabella Valentine's "Hypnotic Surrender" file (one of the first files I ever discovered years ago) on loop, and listened to it for like ten repeats for more than an hour. I decided I wanted to stop, and pushed past what I'd call the "normal" barrier of me not wanting to move and found that I still couldn't move my arms, it was really weird, and SUPER hot. More than just feeling encouraged not to move, I actually felt like I was UNABLE to move and it took me a couple minutes of effort to lift my arm.
I've listened to files on repeat before but never had an experience like that where I really felt a true loss of control. It was one of the most arousing things that's ever happened to me and I hope I can re-create it.

I had some fun playing as a full Illusion mage in Skyrim (modded as much as I could, of course). You use Fury to make enemies fight each other, and when there's just one left you cast Calm to make them stand there with a smile on their face while your followers beat them to death. And whenever I found a cutie bandit or whatever, I'd calm them and force them to put on a mind control circlet, adding them to my harem permanently.
It was pretty barebones, but the concept could probably be expanded. Like, you're a psychic (maybe a vampire?) who uses his thralls to fight through dungeons. And if it's an actual h-game, then there'd be plenty of opportunities to use your mind powers for lewd things during adventures.

Skip to about 1:45 if you don;t care about rambley intro and just want to know what I'm talking about.
You;d need to manage the tone pretty carefully, perhaps, but it's a direction one could take.
Obviously this would require a setup where you are more or less hypnotized depending on choices you make- I think what I would do is set up some ground rules in advance, such that the more you unwittingly comply with pre-set commands, the less agency you have to resist commands later. Obviously, this should be offset with some actual tangible benefit to following the commands, giving it a risk/reward factor.

I like playing a mind-controlled character too. I think the biggest, hugest issue with playing a hypnotized MC is that the reading/playing audience has to be aware. If they aren't aware, then they can't work around the new boundaries or fight against them.
Basically, #4 in the Marisa image doesn't work well for players unless they're made aware via a 3rd person reveal that they now have new rules to work within.
I can't speak for everyone, but I personally love trying to push against such limits while staying in-character with the MC.
For some, working within the limits can be frustrating, but I don't find it boring.

Twine or Renpy might be up your alley.
Renpy is a visual novel engine, so your story would be just as "choose-your-own-adventure" type story.
Twine has a few more tricks up its sleeve but you can also use it in that fashion or you can go into detail and have it keep track of decisions/variables/etc if you want to actually program something

The hook is that you have to balance obedience and defiance. Sycophancy breaks you down faster in the long run and ultimately get less respect, total resistance invites harsh punishments (and large penalties to match) that might endanger your ability to resist at a critical juncture. I just don't seem to get any deep trance with hypnofiles. Which really sucks, because a lot of this stuff is hella my fetish. I've never, ever reached the level where I start feeling commanded sensations or start really getting immersed in a visualization - when the hypnotist starts telling me that I am taking an action, I move my physical body instead of the visualization, which immediately breaks trance and takes me right to full wakefulness.
(I assume it's supposed to work like a lucid dream - when you're still and relaxed for long enough, the body shuts down your ability to actually move and you slide into the dream-state. Trance seems like it would be ideal for triggering that same lucid-dream environment- you're staying completely still and relaxed for long periods, but you're still focused on something.)
The only successes I've ever had at all were when it's super late at night, but that's risky because there's a decent chance that I might just fall asleep instead of falling into trance.
I think it might be because I have ADHD (not self-diagnosed), which rather seems like it'd inhibit focus! I've considered taking more-than-advised of my medication (25 or 30 milligrams has, in the past, put me into states of absolute hyperfocus, which is why I've since dialed down the dose), but that strikes me as a bad idea and I've never really felt SO interested in an ill-advised experiment that I'd sacrifice a night's sleep by taking a high dose of stimulants before bedtime. Plus, it would probably inhibit relaxation.
And there's some studies showing that some drugs can increase hypnotic susceptibility, but I'm too scared and law-abiding to try them.

That said, truly obeying without realizing it or truly seeing the fantasies the hypnotist is describing seems to be something of a myth. Hypnosis is very real and can make very real changes to your perception and affect your will, but it's not quite like lucid dreaming. I have experienced certain things through hypnosis that would probably otherwise be impossible, such as hands-free ejaculation, a genuine inability to keep my eyes open or move my arms no matter how much I tried, etc.
Everything else is the same about me, by the way, non-self diagnosed ADHD, too straight-laced to try drugs etc. I've been experimenting with hypnosis files for something like nine years now though.
Basically the point of my rambling is that great, exceptional experiences are quite possible for you, but you may have to work for it and get good at being a hypnotic subject before you do. Even then, it won't come on command.
I expect it'd be a bit different with a real hypnotist who could monitor your response and such... does anyone know if there are erotoc hypnotists you can visit in person for money, or have any reccomendations on that front? I don't expect them to fuck me, of course, but I wouldn't mind experiencing this in perspn at least once. I'd probably travel for it and spend a fair bit of cash.

That's hard to type out an answer to, Since I've been doing it for almost a decade. The other thing is that--while some files are better than others, obviously--a lot of it seems dependent on my mental state/mood. I'll go completely under for a file once and then never again no matter how many times I try.
For me, Isabella Valentine's good files work really well. The first two Jackpot's are very effective for me, and even if I don't feel like I'm totally under I'll always get a hands-free which seems impossible for me to achieve on my own. This didn't halpen the first time I listened though, it took some practice. IV has a lot of really terrible files as well... I'm not sure why, since she clearly has some idea what she's doing in others, but if you're going the legal route, know what you're buying.
I've had a LOT of success with Nikki from hypnofantasy on a number of files, twenty questions is a great one. My first teal post-hypnotic amnesia experience was a Princess Katana file, but I've never been able to re-create the experience with any of her files.
For videos, I've had great experiences with Goddess Zenova, but other times felt absolutely nothing, and while people will saythat Trance Providers isn't real hypnosis, some of those files have been quite effective for me at times as well, particularly the ones starring Diana Knight.

This is mostly the equipment handling functions, but to a lesser extent the functions for handling "orders"
Both do need some cleaning up, and probably want more functionality
Equipment handling should do the following:
* Not allow the player to wear two items that occupy the same slot (e.g., can't wear shoes and sandals at the same time)
* Handle items that take up multiple slots (e.g., thigh-high boots take up both the foot slot and the leg slot)
* Handle items that are "cursed" (e.g.: a locked collar)
* Handle orders regarding what clothing can be worn and what tools can be used (e.g.: "don't remove this vibrator")
* Have a simple "re-dress" function that puts the player back in what they were wearing before after stripping
* Be usable in one step per player action. (e.g., player.wear("collar"), or player.doff("underwear"))
How would you do it?
Likewise, orders should handle:
* Orders with different priorities ("nice" values)
* "active" vs "passive" orders (e.g.: "suck my cock" vs "don't leave the house")
* Ongoing vs contingent orders (e.g.: "suck my cock" vs "suck my cock tomorrow")
* The player potentially resisting orders
* Recurring vs non-recurring orders (e.g.: suck my cock vs suck my cock every morning)

I'd probably use a dict if I redid it:

(note that small numbers are good because the game uses a reverse-dicepool system. This character is knowledgeable, but not very sneaky)

If you have bits of code that are used multiple times, it's generally a good idea to pull it out into a separate function. It means you only have to change one place if you decide to change how it works.

Have an equipment base class that all your types of equipment inherit from, generate the item with a factory and then use a strategy pattern for their unique behaviour. That way rather than having
if item1
do this
and this
else if item2
do this other thing
and this other thing
else if item3
do another thing
and another thing
you can just do
item.doThing()
and keep your player class clear.

Then it should be in an equipment class and an order class. The player object should know as little as possible about how everything works. It makes it a pain in the arse to expand later on.
