With your single bag in tow, you step into the spaceport and stop, taking a moment to look around. Species from all over the universe are here, chatting and shouting and squawking and making other strange noises you aren't entirely familiar with. Wings flap, mandibles click, and incantations are muttered everywhere; the sound is constant and almost deafens you to your own thoughts. It takes a shake of your head to stop from inspecting every direction at once and trying to take it all in.

Soon, you’re at the Customer Service Desk. There are several lines, and the one you pick seems to move fairly quickly. The line dwindles, and eventually a Gyrian of indeterminate interest-level stares at you blankly from behind the desk. You can never quite tell what a Gyrian is thinking. Their species communicates mainly through waving their tentacles in complex and detailed patterns in the air - a language called Weaving by most of the universe - which is also how they express themselves.

However, most Gyrians are implanted with carefully calibrated Telepathy Orbs, just strong enough to facilitate communication. This particular one introduces itself as Mallor, and asks how it can help you. At least, that’s the gist of it. There aren't any actual words, just shared concepts and images.

You urge a memory to the surface of your mind, and a series of them follow - joining a team of xeno-planetary researchers; applying the divinations of Oracles to their telescopes as the resident Enchanter; finally discovering a planet that no one else had before; making arrangements to visit and study it in person. The Gyrian, always professional, doesn't react to the unrefined flood of thoughts and sensations that branch and trickle off of your shoddy telepathy. Your interests never really aligned with the Psychic Arts, instead preferring to study Enchantment, the imbuement of magical energies and properties into otherwise mundane objects.

The desk clerk spends a minute manipulating a holo-display with its tentacles, and eventually informs you where you can find your group. Apparently, they've already all arrived at the ship and are unpacking. You thank the Gyrian and hurry away cursing. All the good rooms will have already been picked out, and considering the team's budget, there probably weren't many to begin with.

The team... It seems so far in the past that you were the new girl stepping into their lab, though it was only less than a standard year ago. It's a small team, and only a small part of you are traveling to the planet. Funds are tight, and exploring new sectors of space is expensive. After bartering for room and board on the journey there, as well as securing enough supplies for a meaningful stay, only 3 of you could be afforded to go. It was an honor to be selected by Velo.

Velo is the team leader. He's a Hullen, giant bipedal lizards with hard, segmented carapaces. He has no magical talents and isn't the best at scientific pursuits, but he drives the team with the efficiency and tenacity that all Hullen are known for. As far as you can tell, no one on the team is very close to him, but that hasn't stopped him from being an excellent, if harsh, leader.

There's also Driya, the Alaxian Empath. Alaxians are a blue-skinned and naturally selfless species, with an unusually high occurrence of Empaths among them. They are also, as you discovered by accident when entering an unlocked bathroom in the lab one day, hermaphrodites. Things were awkward between you and Driya for a while after, but you're now good friends.

You know a guard was also hired to protect the team on this unknown planet, but you don't know anything about the guard.

Finally, you've arrived at the ship while contemplating your teammates, and now have to choose a room. The human captain of your rented ship tells you there aren't enough rooms for everyone to get their own on account of an unexpected guest, so you'll have to share with someone. Driya would be the obvious choice, but maybe now would be a good chance to get to know Velo. And just who is this guest?

The captain clears his throat as you think. He says he's on a tight schedule and needs your answers now so he can mark it down in his records.

Your curiosity wins out, and you tell the captain you'll bunk with whoever this mystery guest is. His eyes widen in surprise.

"You sure?" he asks, one eyebrow raised. "She's not... used to roommates."

Sure you're sure. You have to be ready for anything when you arrive at the planet, and it won't do to be wary of new things now. You tell the captain as much.

[Inquisitive status achieved! A good trait for a scientist, but you know what they say about curiosity and cats...]

He shrugs, then points you down the hall towards the bunks. You're in room D, closest to the engines and storage at the rear of the ship. The captain quickly rattles off a verbal tour of the ship - mess (breakfast at 8 AM Standard, dinner at 6 PM Standard), bathrooms (2 of them), captain's quarters (stay out if not an emergency), all the important bits. You thank him and head down the hall.

On the way, you stop at the restroom. Most bathrooms nowadays make no distinctions between gender, species, or otherwise anomalous traits. Fancier ones have scanners that determine the user's body type and bathroom needs, then magically morph into whatever is necessary. This one is slightly less user-friendly - it's just one of those old plastic seats with a bowl attached for waste, the kind you only find in sleazy clubs and old ships.

After relieving yourself, you take a moment to look in the mirror.

You've never been one for keeping up your appearances, instead preferring a studious lifestyle. The one exception was that night at the Academy. You've never been able to hold your alcohol very well, and as you turn slightly and lift the back of your shirt, the tribal tramp stamp visible there proves it. Your lips tighten reflexively at the memory. It was not a fun morning after. In the end, you decided to keep it, though you still aren't 100% sure why.

Otherwise, you're a fairly average human - long, brown hair; blue eyes; large, but not too large, breasts; pale and freckly; slightly short, but in good physical condition - with little modification like so many others have chosen to acquire. Your only real "enhancement" isn't even part of your body; your glasses provide a heads up display that you can manipulate by speaking, able to show information about various magical energies. Currently they aren't set to show anything.

You exit the bathroom after tucking your shirt back into your belt. Only Driya knows of your tattoo, and you'd like to keep it that way. Your room is down the hall, past the others. Closest to the bathroom is room A, which is closed. Room B is next to that, with an open door. Velo is seated inside at his desk. He glances at you and nods, then resumes his work. Room C, next to B, also has an open door, but is empty. You assume that this is Driya's room, though you aren't sure where she is at the moment.

The door to room D, your room, is closed. Suddenly, you're nervous. It's been a while since you've had to be particularly social with someone other than your teammates - even the shuttle from your lab to this spaceport was public transportation and relatively quick. This will be a fairly long voyage, an estimated 3 months, and you have no idea who your roommate will be. You take a breath, then open the door.

The last thing you notice before losing consciousness is a cloud of pink particles bursting into the hallway.

At the point, you've entirely stopped caring what she has to say. Instead, you're shaking back and forth violently on the chair you're tied to. You're so fucking horny! Through gritted teeth, you sputter and grunt, and the tendons in your neck stretch as you struggle against your bindings futilely. Then a wave of lust and light-headedness overtakes you, and you pass out again. Your dreams are hazy and full of sensation, but you can't pinpoint any details.

"Oh, are you feeling better?" the woman says when you finally wake up who-knows-how-much later. You're laying in her bed now, wrists still tied, though feeling much less aroused. You get a decent look at her. She's a... Well, you aren't sure what she is. Her skin is mottled green, like light through the leaves of a tree. She's mostly humanoid, except her lower half is a mass of tentacles instead of feet. Unlike the random, ugly, slimy tentacles of a Gyrian, hers are all neatly facing down and are the same pleasant shades of green as the rest of her skin. They seem to bristle and shift subtly, as if inspecting her immediate surroundings.

"I'm really sorry," she says again. "I should have just released somewhere else. But it was giving me really bad cramps, and I already put it off so long, and, just, sorry." Her cheeks turn dark green and she averts her gaze to the floor.

You feel like a mess, and despite just waking up, you're exhausted. But the scientist inside you is brimming. What should you do?

This is too good an opportunity to pass up. Lisandra is an excellent lover, but she's also such an interesting specimen in a scientific sense that you can't resist running a few tests on her residual tentacle slime. And so you hobble across the room to your suitcase, rummage in it for a few seconds, then pull out some complicated and banged up equipment. The apparatuses are spread out on the floor, and you get to work.

You approach a particularly viable puddle - large and mostly untainted - with glassware in hand and carefully scoop a glob into it. The stuff is thin, but with a lot of surface tension. You swirl the beaker and note its viscosity as slightly higher than water, but far more liable to clump and string together. Another sample is obtained, this time from a slightly more congealed bit that had partially dried on the wall. It plops into the tube and slowly deforms from its ball shape to lay flat on the bottom. Maybe you should get Lisandra’s permission first, you idly wonder, before deciding to just get the samples and then ask her.

You continue in this manner for a little while longer, choosing markedly different samples or simply finding more of the same to study. While doing so, the door to your room whooshes open, but you don't notice until someone curses and stumbles over your items.

"Oh, hey! Careful with my equipment!" you cry, rushing across the room to pull them to safety. You crouch low on your knees in front of them, pulling each one closer to you and inspecting them for damage. It's only then that you realize it's Velo rubbing his foot and glaring at you, with Lisandra right behind him in the hallway. She refuses to meet your eyes.

"Alianne. I didn't know you had a tattoo," he says, lips clicking like always. You look up slowly, your eyes following the bulky, armored body of your team leader. He stares down at you with beady yellow eyes, inscrutable. If Hullen had facial expressions, you'd guess his right now would be one of anger, disappointment, or frustration.

Wait. Oh no. A blush creeps up your neck and across your face. You're kneeling in front of Velo. Naked. Covered in slime. And he saw your lower back tattoo. You're stunned as you remain kneeling, eyes wide and jaw slack.

You stay on your knees, staring at the wall. Lisandra slowly shuffles halfway into the room. "Um, A-Alianne is a pretty name..." she mutters.

That's when you slump over fully. Oh god. You let an alien girl you just met fuck you harder than you've ever been fucked before, and she didn't even know your name. You groan and put your face in your hands.

"Right... Um, I-I'll leave you alone." she says, her voice tinier than usual. Before you can lift your head, she's in the hall and the door is shutting.

Great. You upset her. Could this day get worse?

“Wait, Lisandra, come back!” you shout, trying to keep the waver from your voice. You stare at the door, sure that she’s going to keep going, but a moment later, it whooshes open and reveals her standing there.

“Oh, hello Alianne…” she says sullenly, still not meeting your eye. She has one arm across her stomach, holding the elbow of her other arm. “Did you need something?”

“Lisandra, I… I’m sorry.” Without moving her head, her eyes dart to yours and then back at the floor. “Really, I am! And, I just… Look, I’m kind of, um, dirty right now. And it was super fun getting to that point. But do you mind if I shower? I have to say some things, but Velo needs to talk to me soon.”

Lisandra nods.

“Great, thank you. Meet me in the shower, then.” You’re almost surprised at how comfortable you feel letting her see you naked and showering, but then you realize that the two of you are far too intimately acquainted for that to be an issue. You follow Lisandra into the hall and to the bathroom near the front of the ship.

The captain's private bathroom surely has a better shower than this, but the public one, in the bathroom you used earlier, is not great. It looks like it still uses a recycled water system, and when you turn a knob and water spills out of the head, your fears are confirmed. It’s incredibly unsanitary compared to hygiene facilities in most modern crafts, but for the money your team is paying for it, you guess you should be grateful to have a shower at all. Besides, you know a few enchantments that could help.

The door whooshes shut behind you. You remove your filthy clothes quickly, or as quickly as you can with the pain still in your gut, and carefully stow your glasses in a nearby cabinet. Lisandra watches with some interest, and you wonder if she’s seen a naked human before, since your earlier activities had you still (mostly) fully clothed. She doesn’t wear any clothes herself, which isn’t particularly unusual for a lot of species, but her hair tentacles seem to fill the same role as a shirt or bra. As for pants, you’re not even sure there’s much to cover below her waist, considering it’s just a mass of tentacles.

Maybe there are legs or sex organs behind them, you wonder, before shaking that thought from your head. There will be time enough for analysis later, after you sort out this emotional problem. And get her permission, of course. Oh, and you have that slime you collected too! At least this won’t be a wasted three months, scientifically speaking.

No, don’t think about that right now. Right now is emotions time. You’ve never been very good at that aspect of relationships, and though it’s odd to think of yourself as in a relationship with this exotic plant alien girl, you aren’t sure what else you would call it. It’s a sexual relationship at the very least, and the thought thrills and titillates you not just erotically, but academically as well.

Before you turn yourself on again with memories, you turn on the water and grab a rag and towel from the closet. The rag doesn’t look of the best quality - it’s frayed in spots, and there’s a large dark stain in one corner.

Luckily, you carry a pouch with you everywhere full of Dust, the slang name for magic particles that, when spoken over and sprinkled on an object, imbue that object with various magical properties. You reach into the back pocket of your discarded pants and pull out the bag. It stayed shut through your fucking, which is to be expected since you had previously enchanted it with Self Unlocking, a spell that locks some door or container for all but the caster.

Now you pull out a pinch of Dust, tell it to imbue Cleansing Power, and then drop it on the cloth. The Dust fizzles and disappears, but you know its properties have passed into the rag. The stain slowly fades away, proving it. Then, just for good measure, you take another bit of Dust and use it to repair the holes and worn away threading. The cloth regrows itself neatly.

When you look up, Lisandra’s eyes are wide. “Wh-what was that?” she asks.
