Funny you ask. I had a friend of mine who was trans, and she managed to induce lactation for her and her husband's adopted baby. I asked how she did it, and she told me that you can manage with a breast pump being used at regular intervals. It took her about half an hour, every three or so hours, for several months, before she got a good flow going. She explained that herbal supplements wound up helping a lot, but that those came later.

I've been looking through the archives and doing some searches. I've made of list of herbs that help with lactation and/or breast growth. I'll write up something and post it shortly.

Breast growth:
Pueraria Mirifica - Doses depend on which form you get it in. A couple of places you can get it from are:

http://www.ainterol.us/ - This is where BSB says she gets hers from. She recommends the powdered form.

Goat's Rue - I've seen this claimed to help with breast growth. This is also a Galactagogue (Such a silly word) and will help with inducing lactation.

Galactagogues:
Fenugreek - Seen recommended doses around 1200mg 2-3 times per day.
Fennel or Fennel Seed - Supposed to help increase supply of breast milk.
Torbangun (Coleus amboinicus, Plectranthus amboinicus, among others) - Supposed to be better than Funegreek. Only was able to find it combined with Fenugreek from http://www.elkhavenherbals.com/ in their boob food supplement.
Shatavari - Increasing supply.
Milk thistle and Chasteberry have been mentioned as galactagogues, but as far as I can tell it seems like they might do nothing.

Other herbs I've seen in herbal mixtures or occasionally sited as galactagogues:
Anise
Oatmeal - There is quite a bit of anecdotal evidence from nursing mothers that eating oatmeal has given them a boost in supply. Eating oatmeal for breakfast wouldn't be a bad idea.
Blessed thistle - Saw this in a number of supplements aimed at increasing milk supply.
Nettle - Same as above.
Alfalfa - Same as above.
Vervain
Marshmallow root
Red raspberry leaf

Then of course there is Domperidone, which works very well.

As far as buying the herbs go, I have found two places where you should be able to buy everything except Pueraria Mirifica and Torbangun. Although one might have something that the other doesn't.
https://www.mountainroseherbs.com/ - I've seen a lot of mixed reviews on this place, so I'm not sure about using them. They do have good prices though.
http://www.starwest-botanicals.com - A little more expensive than MRH, but I've seen less bad reviews. I think they might not have had one more of the herbs in the list.

If anyone has any experience dealing with either of these places, I would very much like to know.

As for my plans, I was thinking about possibly using the Pueraria Mirifica powder, and maybe some of the cream that they sell, for about 3 - 4 months. Possibly adding some goat's rue in as well. May or may not begin pumping at the 2 month mark, I do have one so I could even start from day one if I wanted. When I do begin pumping I was planning on adding a tincture of Fenugreek, Fennel, Goat's Rue, Shatavari, and maybe some blessed thistle, to the daily routine of pumping.

I will try to keep a journal and take pictures of my progress for others.

Should just need to add a decent schedule of pumping and/or nursing. Think you could get away with about 5 or 6 times a day for at least 20 min for pumping. If you add to those, you suckling on her for 5 to 10 min each breast (not exactly sure on that) daily, should be no problem. It can take a while, but should be more than worth it.

Since there's structurally no difference between a trans and a cis woman's breasts, so there's a good chance that you could make her lactate the same as you can make any woman lactate. So, she couldn't use a vaginal gel if she actually had SRS, since her vagina has normal skin in it, that's why she has to dilate.) However she did not actually explore this possibility, nor did she report anything more than a few drops. However, with pumping/suckling, this can be promising.

wow.. i'm actually really shocked you remember me.. i havn't been on here in ages.. i wish there was something i could help with but pretty much every question asked was already answered before i got here. but yes.. for size PM is the way to go.. also lactation.. i tried to start out slow and just do the domperidone melt tablet things.. i was lactating just after a week. so i can totally vouch for that working very well. i kept at it for a month before i ran out and had a pretty good flow going and i don't even own a pump or anything.... so if you're able to get your hands on some i totally recommend it!

Does Fenugreek affect the taste of your milk any? What have you noticed changes your taste and how so?

lol thank you sooooo much <3 uhh... i originally started at recommended dosage for the first 4 months or so then worked my way up to 3000 a day and that's pretty much where i am whenever i have money to restock.. i did buy a capsul machine (not much of a machine at all cuz everything was manual) and baught bulk powder which was sooo much cheaper but it became a pain in the ass to keep making my own capsules so i went back to paying out the ass for premade PM.
as for fenugreek.. i did that when i was first starting out and it made my whole body smell like waffles.. which was pretty awesome but i havn't tried it after i ACTUALLY started lactating with dom.. so idk if it would affect the taste.. but i imagine it would.. also before i was just working on size so i wasn't too worried about the lactation aspect. then i finally decided to do it.. achieved it in far less time than i thought... but didn't realy keep up.. so i don't really flow anymoar.. just kinda drip here or there if i'm playing with my breasts and squeezing them.

Most prescriptions come with a fine print booklet with tons of warnings...some say not to take if you are lactating. So read all of your info carefully but other than that I have no idea but wish you luck!

Just had a bit of a scare with inhousepharmacy, they started retiring prescriptions. Fortunately, if you have a history with them, you can just say "I'll email you my prescription" and they'll clear it. Just a heads up for fellow milkfriends.
