Saudi Arabia partnered with China in order to make a cartoon about cooking. Do you feel cultured yet?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F_oZWo9In9g
>>24059
Why is the chinese girl not being stoned to death for wearing such revealing clothes?
>>24316
Because she's a foreign dignitary.
Saudi Arabia makes cartoons?
>>25529
They're making an effort to try, with the help of the Chinese.
>>24059
english sub when?
also whats with all the dark kids holding hands with white adult males? is this normal?
>>24059
I really, really want to fuck the chinese boy... Guess I'll have to draw lewds of him.
And the chinese girl too because she's cute as fuck.
But nothing for that anime-like Steven Universe.
Here's a playlist with all of the episodes so far. Some had less than two dozen views.
https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLhWube4qWn1y30PfM8FvDxY0GoUf-MT7d
This is from the event where the deal was signed and the show began production.
Eh. Last bump. Genuinely wanted to talk about this show, or at least see what other people thought about it, but the thread last night got cut short because of April Fools and I don't think it has any traction anyway.
>>25529
They discovered the great secret to making cartoons.
Pay an asian nation for slave labour.
>>30229
at least it's appropriate considering what the board is now
It's an interesting concept for a kid's show, I wonder if they'll ever try to subtitle it or bring it over to the West
i bet its going to be the bomb
>>29267
Why do arabs have shit taste in watches?
>>30450
I very much doubt it, if only for the racial depiction of blacks.
>>30474
Oh, go fuck yourself.
>>24059
The girl sounds so old in the arabic dub. The chinese voices fit all the characters better.
>>30229
I wanted to talk about it too but, really, not having translations affects possible discussion a lot. I love the designs tho and, it looks like it's fun but I really don't get anything they say.
>>25496
Why is the Chinese girl 60% off?
>>30474
>Doesn't mix in a China pun
Carlos on his D-game today it seems.
Wheres the fucking porn?
>>24059
I remember seeing this one Chinese cartoon about cooking and a little boy armed with meat cleavers as the protagonist
It's opening theme song had him fight a bull in an arena while smiling which ends with him killing the animal which then releases a glistening plate of cooked beef upon defeat (it's kind of like how heart containers emerge out of bosses in Zelda).
The episode that followed had him rescue his friend by giving poisoned gourmet to guards who were torturing him.
It was a weird cartoon
>>31386
Is this the only clip available in the Chinese dub?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Dv3qqf5SQg
Did Simon or any of the usual degenerates make lewds yet?
>>32009
I don't expect any will.
>>24059
Cheap as fuck, but definitely looks better then your normal Flash cartoon.
>>31535
>>32009
It's way too soon and this show is so obscure, probably not gonna happen.
>>25961
Does Saudi Arabia get a lot of sex tourism like South-East Asia? Probably a not-so-subtle nod from the animators.
>>33714
That is a very unfortunate thing. But, hypothetically, where could such a drawing be found if it were made?
>>24059
She's a cute.
>>34038
If such a drawing ever existed, we could find it here
http://rule34.paheal.net/post/list/Hakim/1
But that's just a wild guess, we can't know for sure
>Hakim is a warm and cheerful teenager who comes from Saudi Arabia. As Abu Hakim Restaurant's heir, he has to learn how to cook Arabia Food, while which is not his ideal.
>Until he meets two teenagers come from China, Kong Xiaodong (the boy) and Kong Xiaoxi (the girl). Both of them were born in the Chinese-Food family, and they are good at cooking delicious Chinese food.
>In order to retain Abu Hakim Restaurant, Hakim competes with Raman Restaurant that's across the street under Kong Xiaodong and Kong Xiaoxi's help.
>A series of interesting stories that happens along with the competition of the two restaurants.
Found that english description in some chinese site:

>>34494
So there are 26 episodes, and 15 of them are up. The last one was uploaded recently, so I think that channel will continue to upload the new ones as they air.
If anyone wants translations for some scenes I can speak arabic, too lazy to translate full episodes though.
>>34619
Where did you pick up that skill? You live in the region, or just do translation work?
>>29267
all the rich arab countries have shit taste in everything. money doesnt change who you are, it just raises the power of who you are. shit taste^2.
>>34643
I'm arabic, my nigger.
>>34536
I think so, that's probably it.
Damn, I hate not understanding the dialogues, this show seems right up my alley.
>>34671
Well, I'll have to get back to you on your offer. I don't know of very many scenes offhand. I'm just glad to see more animated stuff getting made by more nations.
>>34714
One would think the Saudis would view it as condescending, since the plot implies that a Saudi restaurant will fail without the help of two Chinese chefs.
>>34769
I'll stay in this thread cause I never knew this show existed.
And Saudi restaurants rarely have Saudi chefs in them so it doesn't really matter.
Fuck it. Another bump. It's not as if /cock/ needs the thread space.
Chinese boy looks like Rossiu from Gurren Lagann.
>>34769
>Saudis would view it as condescending
I hope not... anyway, I always feel awkward when I see arabic, muslim, etc. content because it paints such a happy world (also chinese content, especially when they show little girls like they were so frequent there) but then you remember their reality is so different and it's like "who are they trying to fool?"
It's like what happens with anime but worse.
>a cartoon that involves no Americans whatsoever yet is not anime
I have seen the beautiful future.
>>38265
There are a number of Chinese animated programs that qualify, but they tend to borrow more from Japan than you would probably like. It's unfortunate that they aren't allowed on /co/. When we discovered Rainbow Cat & Blue Rabbit, with its cute cartoon characters getting tortured and killed, a lot of people fell in love with it. Those early threads had 100+ posters and a ton of interest. Then they decided that they weren't /co. and started deleting the threads and issuing warnings.
Chinese cartoons aren't /co/. They aren't /a/. Hakim might be allowed, and if I make future threads, I'm going to emphasize its Saudi origins.
>>27274
Gainax is also getting on the SA bandwagon. These boys make me feel very haram.
>>37680
>"who are they trying to fool?"
If anyone on this planet needs escapism, it's muslims.
>>38655
Wow, you aren't kidding.
For "some reason" I keep seeing indian and muslim characters in new cartoons these days (SU, WBB, PPG, Clarence, etc.), I didn't imagine Japan wanted to follow that trend too.
>>38325
>Chinese cartoons aren't /co/. They aren't /a/
what? that's preposterous, frankly.
Gay lewds with chinese boy and arab boy when?
>>24059
It doesn't really look BAD art style wise but unno, something feels off about the way it looks .
>>24059
Why the fuck would Saudis attempt to get into a kitchen as reliant on pork as the Chinese?
Most Chinese dishes would likely be ten kinds of haram.
Not to mention they are atheists and otherwise heathens who violently suppress their Muslim minorities.
>>38959
I was literally given a warning by an actual moderator saying that stuff posted in /co/ needed to be western in origin.
whenever I feel like western nations are alone in the world, I am always glad to be reminded that china is in the process of sticking their fingers into underdeveloped nations too.
>>24059
>Be the richest Arab country in the entire middle east
>Can't produce a cartoon of their own so they hire a bunch of chinese people to do instead
They must've lost the funding because of them making a shit-load of propaganda cartoons.
>>34384
I guess this thread is over. But thanks.
>>39125
>violently suppress their Muslim minorities.
Not exactly. The Han Chinese violently suppress the Uighyr, who are an ethnically Turkish people with separatist views who happen to be Muslim. It's more about their politics than their religion.
Not all Muslims in China are Uighyr. For instance, there are the Hui, mixed descendants of Han and Arab and Persian traders from the silk road days, who have always been buddy-buddy with the Han. The Hui have alot of halal variants of traditional Chinese dishes that are prepared with beef or mutton instead of pork.
>>31479
Loli is a poor mans dish. Only the upper class go for Shota.
>>38984
>Gay lewds with chinese boy
Stopped reading there, I desperately need this. Still gonna draw something.
>>39254
I guess the show is still allowed because, despite not being western, it's still /ck/-related, since we're in /cock/ right now. I'm more than fine with that.
Why does one of the Chinese boys have a Manchu pigtail. Would the Chinese working on this cartoon really let it happen?
damn didn't expect the thread to be up
>>49377
I gave it a couple of pointless page 10 bumps that saved it, but there are more people here than I would have expected. Technically, the /co/ thread from last night is still alive as well, but all of the /co/ threads were paused when /cock/ got made.
>>34494
Demi-Arab here (gramma's Lebanese).
It's fucking weird in Arab culture. Once someone has kids, they basically lose their name and just become 'kid's parent.'
Say a guy is named Adel. Once he and his wife have a kid (let's say his name isTamir), everyone will call him Abu Tamir (Tamir's dad). His wife will become Umma Tamir (Tamir's mom). The priests, the other parishoners and everyone who speaks Arabic and knows them will refer to them by their kid's name rather than their given names. It's a super bizarre honorific system.
Seeing 'Abu Hakim' just reminded me of this cultural quirk.
>>34643
I know mostly food words and church words because the only time I was ever around people speaking Arabic was at my gramma's church or at lunch after church.
>>31386
This can't be real. The girl's not wearing a hijab.
>>50656
Shit, now that's really weird... some cultures, eh?
