I think most peoples problems is that a Vague Price for magic, which is a fantasy staple, doesn't hold much meaning in comic books were the price will at best be an annoyance. And that people use magic all the time for everything with no consequence.

Ms. Marvel has glaring problems. Her superhero identity is tied too closely to her actual ethnicity. Someone did the math at one time and determined that 60% of her story hooks start because she's "lol muslim" and someone evil hates her for it.
