She's fine as an actress and has a lot of charisma. The cast they put around her, with some exceptions, is wasted and poorly used. Martian Manhunter is both a good actor and generally a good portrayal except his power level varies. The episode where Alex was kidnapped, some rando high school jerk, who understandably could know about Kara, would know about Jonn and, MOST SIGNIFICANTLY, would be able to prevent the psychic intrusion is pure BS.

THAT's the main problem with the show, the stupidity of the writers. Otherwise, it has the same problems all the DCW shows have (as others have stated, the romance BS - Winn, Jimmy and Kara, then Kara, Jimmy and Lucy Lane, etc. etc. Mon-El is particularly a bad choice and dragged down last season, irrespective of the fact that the actual actors are fucking each other, it just makes little sense plot-wise/direction wise for the show.

Mon-El, Jimmy AND, in particular, Mxy, are example of really wasted characters. Too many of the villains are Clark's villains, which isn't a problem except for the fact that some of them are treated as first time and/or only that time hers.

The good parts are better using the DEO, the entire aliens in the DC Universe aspect, tone, 90% of how they handled Clark/Superman, Alex and Maggie as characters and as a couple, Luthor mom (except for how easily she gets out of jail, etc., which again is just standard show writer stupidity for ALL the DCW shows - the plot contrivances and plot devices show that they just don't have the talent to do this week in and week out - for example, for all that Lois and Clark or Smallville had some stupid ass or laughable villains, the contrivances weren't so deep, didn't require contradictions of previous seasons (well not too badly on Smallville - Supergirl has no excuse since it's barely S2), and didn't require base stupidity on the part of most everyone.

Still streaming S2/Netflix but don't watch show live any longer; no plans to do so for S3.

I obviously don't watch the show, but is there some reason as to why her heat vision is not red? Does she even have heat vision, or are they just generic lasers?

Aside, I always think shows like these are a mistake. They don't have enough budget to do good CGI, and those parts are supposed to be the most exciting parts of the show, but they aren't.
They should have done 'Batgirl' instead of Supergirl, then they can save on budget not having to CGI them flying around and save it for occasional big monster baddies like Clayface etc.
