To be fair, hardly anyone besides tyler the creator fans saw the original version of this show, so I doubt the general audience will be confused

when it was a webseries it had a different style and idea, I think once it was a TV show Tyler wanted to make a proper well-developed positive black cartoon character. Also this new version seems way more political. (that subtle 'all lives matter' killed me)
