I used to get these every month, religously. I remember stopping around the time Sonic got back from being lost in space. Sally was suddenly a huge hysterical bitch who would start bawling over nothing and Antoine was replaced by an edgy scarfaced doppelganger.


The art seemed to get worse and worse as well.

Actually he stopped being a robot several issues before this, that in that picture is just a bunch of random mechanical things strapped to his arm to simulate the OG Comic Robotnik look in which he had one robotic arm.

Oh he doesn't do the locking henchmen away thing until after the reboot. from that point until the reboot he's mostly setting up shit to power the Death Egg's return and acknowledging that all of his grandmasters are gunning for his spot at the top, so he has them all outfitted with bombs and lets them improve the Legion so that when they try to take over and Eggman stops them, his troops will be stronger than ever to serve under him.

I'm really impressed with what Flynn was able to do with the mess that Penders left behind. It's a shame he was forced to reboot it all in the end, though, not that post-reboot was bad,

Remember when Eggman beat the shit out of Snively, replaced him with a robot to spy on Regina, and locked him away in the bowels of the Death Egg where no one would find him?

Reminder that Ian admitted the Iron Dominion was suppose to be a dumb pitch he threw alongside two others to make the other two look better, but Archie ended up picking that so he had to salvage it.

The whole plan was "this is so dumb there's no way they are picking this one" and it backfired on him.
