Nope. We didn't really see her last season, except in flashbacks. This is his mother in the present.

She contracted severe dementia some time after that 'you were born broken' speech, by the time we see her again she can't even recognize Bojack.

It's seems incredibly depressing to watch. Why do you watch shows like this?

The depression is largely a meme. There are some heavy moments, but nothing really that severe. It's pretty normal, like real life. There are good times, bad times, and heavy times.

I think the important thing is that it isn't a hopeless series.
