I never even realized Daimon was Japanese. In retrospect its really obvious cause his name, but its not a 'thing' ever in the book as far as I can remember.

Well they are. Blacks all have black hair and almost all have dark eyes. Asians almost always have black hair and dark eyes, same with Hispanics. Any exceptions are generally due to bleaching or contacts.

With westerners, you can have blonde, brown, red, black hair and shades in between. Eyes can be brown, blue, green, etc. You get the idea.

It's not that hard, typically, but not always there are a lot of simple features but only for the "extremes" of East Asia. South East Asians are typically the easiest, darker skin, wider eyes, less facial hair, rounder features, wider nose while Koreans, more facial hair, Northern Chinese have very square jawlines, with paler skin and narrower eyes. Japanese and Chinese differences are much more subtle ad basically not even worth differentiating. Japan has its own north/south split going from sub-arctic to tropical and China is so fuckin huge.
