All villains are pathetic compared to Mr. Mind. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GFezJv1tQlc
Name 5 top tier supervillains that aren't Mr. Mind. I'll wait.
>>95264241
he's just a lamer, dumber, unsexier Shuma, nerd
>>95264264
The other members of the Monster Society of Evil, which is incidentally the greatest supervillain group name in existence
>>95265547
who's a member of the society besides Sivanna and Mind
>>95266170
>>95266475
Only one's I recognise are Adam, Kull, Nazi, Ibac, Atom, Sivana and Mind. I reckon that's doing pretty well for that many to stick in my mind but I still think more of his villains need promotion.
Give us the Black Marvel Family as well whie they're at it and keep the extended Marvel family form Curse of Shazam
>>95266475
>>95266630
I wouldn't mind Ibac being blacked so Mr. T plays him.
>>95264383
Uhh! Uhhh!
Bizzaro!
Lex Luthor!
Joker!
JACKIE CHAN!
What went wrong?
>>95267370
Nothing, it was a pretty great story.
>>95267370
I feel like he would look better as a gigantic psychedelic butterfly of dread.
Come get some, bitch
So would tyou have all these guys just be flying bricks with occasional lightning stuff or should their powers be more individualised. I feel like having a Marvel who's faster, one who's stronger, one who's more magical and such like feels a bit off to me
>>95266475
I remember Mr. Banjo from the Robot Chicken sketch.
>>95266281
>of all villains, the cartoon caterpillar got sentenced to the electric chair for mass murder
>they even built a miniature version to fry him in
Why can't comics have this kind of balance between cartoon-y nonsense and dark humor anymore? Fawcett played this shit surprisingly well, even if a lot of stuff did end up getting hand-waved to keep the plot rolling.
>>95269638
I feel that flying brick with a bit of other magical ability thrown in across the board with the more active members at one time dividing the power more works better than individualized powers.
>>95273292
So basically all flying bricks except Billy who gets to play Thor and decide who gets to have power. The others can use lightning but more like lightning charged physical attacks than throwing actual bolts like Billy

Are there any good collections out there of Captain Marvel? Specifically Monster Society stories?
>>95266475
Captain marvel has an awesome rogues gallery
When can he get a solo self contained book
>>95272128
People have this kind of extreme view of how a comic (or other things for that matter) should be. If Monster Society was done today they'd over emphasize how horrifyingly terrible the things Mr. Mind did by showing people getting killed on screen and all that, all just to show how mature they are or whatever. Fawcett's approach worked because they knew you didn't need to focus on that. "Show don't tell" usually works, but then there's time when telling is more effective because it means the audience has to imagine it themselves and moves the story along.

>Specifically Monster Society stories?
Hope you've won the lottery recently, because as far as I know the only collection of the original Monster Society arc is pic related, and it's expensive as fuck.
On the bright side though, I'm pretty sure most of that arc is public domain anyways, except the last few issues unfortunately. I don't think anyone's even bothered making a compilation of any of their later appearances, the Big Red Cheese has a long standing history of getting fucked over a lot, including where decent reprints are concerned.
>>95272128
>of all villains, the cartoon caterpillar got sentenced to the electric chair
What, are you saying Mr. Mind should be allowed to go on commiting unspeakable atrocities and slaughtering innocents because he's just so cute and fuzzy?
>>95273466
No, that's not what I said at all. Same powers, weaker the more members of the Shazamily are active at one time.
>>95264412
Whoa he's a communist too! He really is the most evil villain around!
>>95274506
I grok it now. Never was a fan of power sharing because the ideal situation in an emergency would always be depower and let Billy handle it
>>95275423
That is only an effective solution if you're dealing with a singular villain who can be easily contained by a single hero. Powersharing, while netting you a weaker hero on an individual level, gets you a more flexible and spread out ability to respond.
>>95264241
>His debut and first story is causing Captain Marvel on a wild goose chase for over a year before finally being caught... only to not have been caught at all
Fuckers better realize
Reminder that "Adventures of Captain Marvel" (1941) is releasing on blu-ray later this month with a good restoration.
>>95264264
I'll raise you one better: name 5 supervillains that are as cute or cuter than Mr. Mind. I'll wait.
>>95267370
nothing, he even makes a traditional appearance during Lex Luthor's bllack ring issues
>>95269472
>gigantic psychedelic butterfly of dread.
That seems more like a more Morrison thing, too. Just keep Mr. Mind small and make his effect on reality huge.
