It's rare to see Ricks that are legitimately good people (in fact the only three I can think of are him, Doofus Rick and Simple Rick, who loved his family but was a vegetable for the entire episode until he died).
I really like his character, it's a nice look into what kind of person Rick could be if he was a little less jaded and still had a moral compass. I genuinely hope that when the finale comes around and Evil Morty comes after C137 using the Citadel's resources we get to see him again (it would also really tie his arc within this episode into the plot two as his story was the only one with absolutely no real connection to the overarching plot of the episode).
