It speaks volumes of both Zim competence and incompetence that he managed to turn his idiotic SIR unit into a highly functional one, which actually had a personality and drive of its own unlike its less "advanced" counterparts, and the first thing it tried to do was kill him so he wouldn't interfere with the mission anymore.

Headcanon: Gir, or at least his core hardware, was part of a discontinued group of prototypes that attempted to incorporate new features in the standard SIR design. Decision making, emotional programming, the ability to eat and sustain itself with actual real food. The Tallest weren't wrong when they called Gir "advanced" - they just didn't think it would function.

i haven't watched this show since a decade and a half ago when it originally aired on nick. what's it like? is it good?
