Tell me about Bone
Is it worth the read?
>>95219303
Yes.
>>95219303
It's a god-tier comic, colored version more so.
>>95219303
reread it last month for the first time in years
still held up as one of the best graphic novels I've ever read. god-tier no doubt
>>95219303
Yes.
Yep.
It's a bit of a slow burn but it's good

>liking color over patrician black and white
Plebs leave
Oh yes, very much
>>95219303
For the first half yeah, for the second half turns out as a mediocre fantasy story.
So why did they leave at the end? What was wrong with living there?
>>95219303
Yes, it's great.
>>95219303
I only read the first like 20 issues, but it was great.
It's fucking incredible
one of the things that made me want to draw comics when i was younger.
Not just nostalgia talking.
I still have a bunch of the trading cards somewhere

They stayed anon. They all married and had toon/medieval fantasy hybrid children.

>Tell me about Bone
>>95219303
It's basically The Hobbit. Fantasy adventure with innocent simpletons finding the horrors of the world outside of their own little village.
It's funny, it's cute, it's exciting.
Well worth the read.
Thorn taking a bath was LEWD.

>Why doesn't he wear the mask?
>>95223362
This always bothered me. From what I saw by the end the valley had become their home way more than Boneville. I think the issue is I remember Jeff Smith said in an interview that he wrote the ending really early on and just kept it in a drawer.
Personally I think phoney and Smiley returning and Fone Bone staying in the valley would've been a better ending.
This is making me regret throwing away that compendium my ex bought me.

An interesting mix of realistic and cartoony characters. Somehow they manage to make it work.
this is a very wholesome and comfy circlejerk, you anons are cool.

This guy gets it. Ah, childhood boners
>>95219456
I read the entire thing back in middle school in color and seeing it in black and white is just so weird for me.
Odd enough, my memories of it actual get lumped with cartoons for some reason.
did you also challenge your fellow classmates for the few copies of scary stories to tell in the dark?
this and bone were highly sought after in my middle school

shit, forgot reply
>>95220308
This is kinda what pissed me off.
It's a slow burn up until the ending, which I found pretty shitty.
Worth a read though.
>>95223333
this
what a fucking waste of potential too, all of the revelations of the stuff set up in the earlier parts are such disappointments
>>95219303
It is a good read OP.
If you're lucky... some day Anon will post the whole dang storytime again like they did a few years ago. It was epic.
>>95219303
it's one of those things you read because it's part of being /co/. it's just something you do.
>>95219303
I read it as a kid and didn't think it was that special tbqh. But the main characters are basically Ed Edd and Eddy.
It starts MAGNIFICENT.
Around the time Ghost Circles enter the picture, it weakens a bit. It stays good, but it's just not what it was before then. By the end it starts to feel like it's just laboring through wrapping everything up, but it's still solid.
Everyone should read it.
>>95219303
actually just finished rereading it
great time
still holds up
I think I spent about forty bucks of my hard saved kid money to buy the entire series from a Scholastic magazine when I was in school.
One of the best stories I've read.
