Jesus how low did SE go?
>>
That top 10 is disgusting all around.

the more things change, the more things stay the same

And it turns out that the problem with my internet is that undersea cables were hit by recent typhoons.
>>
>>95189170
And people wonder why Comics are dying.
>>
We've still got several stacks of SE sitting on the shelves. People still come in and buy Batman or Metal.

Fucking Marvel is single handedly ruining comic books and don't get me started on Legacy.
>>
>>95189226
WOW .. Marvel really need help
>>
How will Marvel break top 10 now when they're going back to original numbering ( no #1 money) and no events?
>>
>>95189500
The same why DC is incapable of reaching top 10 without Batman or event that has Batman.

They both equally pathetic.

Star Wars and Milestone issues. #700 is the new #1.

Too many Marvel #1s and events taking up space?
>>

I know right, why are people eating this garbage?
>>
>>95189654
No, because don't care about anything that isn't Batman, event, SW or #1. Both Marvel and DC failed to get them interested.

What's wrong with Batman comics?

>RETAIL MARKET SHARE
> 1. MARVEL COMICS - 35.01%
>UNIT MARKET SHARE
> 1. MARVEL COMICS - 39.52%
Holy crap. That's like a 5% disparity from retail and unit. In July it was 36.89%/39.53%. How many free issues are Marvel shipping out to save face?
>>
>>95189750
Enough to cause an almost 5% disparity.
>>
>>95189744
It's not that there's a problem with his comics, it's just can't get their audience interested in anything that isn't Batman. That's isn't different with Marvel who only got events and SW.
>>
>>95190051
Did new52 Batman sell high anyway?
>>
>>95190107
....did you even read anything I said?
>>
>>95190107
Yes. New 52 Batman sold high and consistently. Rebirth Batman started with way higher sales than New 52 Batman, but its sales have been dropping way faster.
>>
>>95189090
Wasn't there a thread about manga selling better?
>>
>>95190138
Those were BookScan numbers. These are Diamond.
>>
>>95189750
So, how many months you are going to keep blaming Marvel doing well on "free shipping"? Let's be honest here, even with Marvel screwing up big time, DC and the rest still can't do better. This how pathetic the industry is.
>>
>>95190128
I did but I'm asking if New52 Batman also sold high.
>>
>>95190191
It better than rebirth, but it mostly because n52 was more involved in events than rebirth so far.
>>
>>95190188
He's not wrong, anon. Retail Share is how much money they made. Unit Share is how many issues got shipped. If you go back a couple years, the retail share for Marvel was higher than the unit share. The only reason for the opposite being the case now (despite the fact that they charge more than DC) is that they overship free issues.

It doesn't change the fact that even with the overshipping, they still have a higher retail share, but the reason there's a 5% difference between unit and retail is the overshipping.
>>
>>95190262
Thanks for explaining the unit/retail share part.
I never quiet understood that.
>>
DC Metal is a Batman comic?
I was going to start getting DC Metal but I'm tired of all the Batwank
>>
>>95190389
>I was going to start getting DC Metal but I'm tired of all the Batwank
Then yeah, stay away from DC Metal. It's Batwank: The Event. The whole premise is that the heroes of Earth-0 have to fight people from "The Dark Multiverse" and as it turns out, everyone from the Dark Multiverse is an Evil Batman version of someone else. Evil Batman/Flash. Evil Batman/Aquaman. Evil Batman/Cyborg. etc.
>>
>>95190188
>So, how many months you are going to keep blaming Marvel doing well on "free shipping"?
Marvel sells their comics at a considerably higher price than DC, on average between 20% to 33% higher. There is NO reason for them to have that large of a disparity between the amount of comics that they sell and the amount of cash they bring in. Especially in a summer event period as well as a mini-event relaunch in Generations which they're giving NO price breaks to anyone unlike what DC did with Rebirth.

What did it look like before Secret Empire poisoned the well? March had Marvel's Dollar at 35.41% and Unit at 34.34%. February had Marvel's Dollar at 37.46% and Unit at 33.64%.

After Secret Empire fucked things over and Marvel had to rely on over shipping to save face? May had Marvel's Dollar at 38.05% and Unit at 39.91%. April had Marvel's Dollar at 34.95% and Unit at 38.23%.

The fact that the numbers are looking like this when they're releasing three event comics at $4.99 and Generations at $4.99 as well is fucking hilarious.

>What did it look like before Secret Empire poisoned the well? March had Marvel's Dollar at 35.41% and Unit at 34.34%.

Wait, what the fuck? Marvel's Dollar in August is 35.01%, Unit is 39.52% AND they had the final three issues of Secret Empire along with two Generations one-shots crammed in one month. Let's see what was going on in March...

>1. AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #25

Which had a $9.99 cover price and the only title they had doing 100,000+.

Are you fucking telling me that Marvel pumping out a lot of books during an event--with SEVEN books in the top 10--is somehow doing even worse than the month they only had an overpriced issue of ASM breaking 100000+ and only had Iron Fist #1, X-Men Prime #1, and Star Wars #29 in the top 10?

Seriously wat do. I want to ask Lieber if I can just buy copies off of him directly.

Just buy from your LCS, if I get how shit works they don't get a dime from what a shop makes since the shop already bought the issues.

LMAOing @ your life nigga.
>>
>>95192544
It's also not just a big disparity, is a big disparity because Marvel usually has a lot of high cover prices so you'd think their dollar amount would be higher.
>>
>>95190051
DC has a serious problem of not being able to build interest in non-Bat franchises. They were onto something with Green Lantern, which became a top seller but all that fell down when Johns left the title.
>>
>>95194935
Maybe with WW movie giant sucess and dc super girls cartoons she can return to make money like in golden age.
