I find it weird that in a post patreon world, webcomics are still so fucking fickle and uncertain.
I mean if you're dobson and aren't making 40 bucks a month, okay.
But I don't know why the kind of guy that's getting thousands of bux in patreon dollaridoos doesn't just go the garfield route and pay a guy or two to punch out pages every day, instead of letting it die a slow hiatused death.
I mean it's not like webcomics are known for being the pinnacle of good art or writing, you could let someone else do it with some minimal supervision.

Thank god.
All those years of homestuck generals constantly on the front page all day every day, you don't even know.

There was one webcomic I followed for awhile that eventually tried this, and oh boy were there some issues. (admittedly this was before patreon was a thing, but still)
The original artist apparently had a very specific vision for his comic, and would frequently need the new artist to completely redo pages because of minor things (for example, a page would often be taken down after posting and come back the next day, but with so-and-so's eyes less visible through their mask). This meant paying the new artist again, which meant taking a week off to sort of even things out
Another problem was the art style. I know ghost-artists are a thing, but in this case the original artist and the new artist had really different styles, which lead to things like a buff solider-girl being depicted as a sparkly-anime princess, or the scrawny rookie suddenly having insane muscles

Oh please, hsg was nothing compared to korra or mlp threads

One thousand comics in, it was a good run.
Massive, massive spoilers for Scrub Diving, so beware if you haven't read.
Hark a Vagrant hasn't updated the site all year. Has it ended?
