Honestly from what I've read that's kinda dumb. There's so much emphasis on them being different people and opposing forces/origins that it really kills any form of a true 'this is me and my brain' dynamic. It's not conveyed well enough for them to be the same person. And it's always seemed like they were two entities.

I've always had this problem with writers who do this sorta thing with consciousness/but they're really the same person because in the end they end up creating two different people or 'beings' rather than properly melding the two. It's more like two personalities rather than two sides of a psyche. To be fair very few stories do it well.

I came up with an alignment system for this just in case there's enough worldbuilding in the AD universe to warrant making a tabletop RPG. Since there's nothing but grey morality in the comic, good and evil don't really apply here. Shin Megami Tensei's Law vs Chaos dynamic fits here like a glove, however, this is a bit limiting. I've added Bright and Dark in addition to Law and Chaos. There is a neutral line between Law and Chaos, but not between Bright and Dark.

For clarity, Bright essentially means that the person wants to accomplish things as peacefully as possible in order to achieve their goals. Dark on the other hand wishes to fuck shit up and put their ideals in place of what remains.

There are seven alignments:

Pre-Criminal Gil would go here, as would most people who follow some sort of deity.

Most TITANfags fall under here.

Odin. He just wants to accomplish his own goals and do his own thing
