Then why is Bobby so goddamn bland? Why does it read like they're talking about generalized opinions on homosexuality instead of Bobby? Why the fuck is Bobby making the common "flip the switch" analogy when this is a domino effect from his younger self getting mindhacc'd by young Jean (even if Marvel doesn't outright encourage that interpretation)?

If the comic wants to have scenes like this, or like when he had dinner with his family in...shit was it 2 or 3? 4? These issues are bleeding together on me. My point is that the writer could easily TELL an interesting story with a good setup, but instead the book is dragging its ass and both the earlier confrontations about his mutanthood and this one about straight up being gay just feel completely without character, like talking points instead of conflict.

X-Men arent particularly bad at that for Marvel standards. In fact most of their stories are very self contained and mutant vs mutant. And if there is widespread destruction, it is most often to kill mutants, think of Sentinels.

Avengers Civil War was pretty much about registering heroes because of collateral victims from hero activity, and non possessed non brainwashed Thor helped Hydra Cap who killed half a million people in Las Vegas only a few weeks ago.

I am gay and I like this comic.
I think it does the old Simpsons meme very well, a realistic grounded story with people with superpowers.
It is hard to explain, because it is about feelings, but I only like gayness in comics when it is full of suffering and tragedy and drama and anguish. I dont believe in gay parades, I dont think it is something to be celebrated. It is a curse, it is being very unlucky.
