In the previous issue the Germans lost their most fit and Aryan battleship to a bunch of black men with super speed and diamond knifes. How will they ever recover
>>

>Maria has made a literal road of diamonds
Sweet Jesus
>>
>>
You see this is why Maria is a waifu, she will throw herself into your arms and will bully your enemies.
>>

>Maria also makes flesh puppets
Ok now it's getting horrifying
>>

So the catalyst also makes you addictive to it

Missions success

That's all for this month, now we wait another month or two.
>>
>>95144615
Well at least we got someone who is actually going to do something about the Eastern Front but I still love Maria.

I love how all these jack-boot authoritarians like Stalin are pissing themselves because they know they cant do anything about her.
>>
>>95144615
Thanks for posting OP. I hope we get some Uber conflict in the next issue but this was a good issue.
>>
>>95144185
OOOOOH YEAH ITS UBER TIME!!!!
>>
>>95144377
what scares me the most is that I don't think she is crazy, much on the other way, I think she is far smarter than anyone take her for.
and she has literally the powers of a god
>>
she's trying to make sure that any other battleship-class activates can think for themselves, and won't just be Stalin's brainwashed lackeys.
>>
>>95144309
Overpowered as fuck.

The world will be a smoking ball of death by the end of this
>>
>>95145512
I hope there is more to it. like, some link to the origins of the catalyst
>>
>>95144273
Based Slavfu
>>
>>95145634
if there is, I doubt she understands it.
>>
>>95145672
maybe she does, because she was different than anyone else.
>>
>>95145634
I never thought about it like that. It'd be interesting if the key to making the catalyst was some kind of disdain for authority combined with the will to live.
>>
well maria meant to be the thematic counterpoint to all the other ubers. who just follow orders, commit atrocities, and get killed. but if she were just amazing free thinking hero katyusha, it would break the setting. instead she's absurdly powerful with a mind of her own, but also totally insane, and unmanageable for the purposes of actually winning the war for anyone
>>
>>95144331
the only thing that infuriates me more than using trucks made from 1958 onward is that one eye is brown in the second panel

Well, well. Vycacheslav Mikhailovich Molotov. One of my favourite historical figures of this time period. Nice to see him showing his stony face in this story at last.

Yeah, they can basically kill whoever they want at this point, but I'll drop this book if they do Maria.
She's the only fun character the entire dire enterprise has.
>>
>>95144185
Imagine my shock
>>
>>95146454
Creator gods tend to get torn apart (and cannibalized) by those that come after them in myths so Maria has really bad chances from a storytelling standpoint.
It's a damn shame that the most sane and entertaining person in the story is the one that is probably going to be messed with.
People just never learn to just not poke the bear.
>>
>>95146328
good, then you will notice that the lend-lease trucks look almost identical. almost as if the post wwii trucks were modelled on the american ones...

So does this mean that all battleships can make the catalyst?

Hope she explodes the little creep.
>>
>>95145512
The fact that her catalyst seems to be addictive while no other Uber has ever had that problem seems to make the opposite point.
>>
>>95146736
Any halo activated Uber should theoretically be able to make catalyst, as the halo is actually reality warping. Surprisingly enough, the Germans haven't tried this despite having the lead in biological and mechanical applications of halo usage. Maria herself might not be able to produce quality catalyst, and presumably can't create the Zephyr catalyst by herself, as it requires external additives during creation.
>>
>>95146995
she probably can manipulate the texture on a molecular level so it is rugged enough to be better than an ordinary road. carbon, man. it is very versatile

>>
>>95147329
Maria CAN'T make zephyr catalist because she doesn't know such a thing exists. Give her a sample and that might change. As for the catalyst she's giving them, it might be slightly different.

Also, I don't believe for an instant that Maria hasn't thought that Stalin wants her dead and that Blondie could very well the cover agent tasked to kill her.

She either doesn't care or has some kind of failsafe.
>>
>>95147136

I like to think if anything, she is less crazy than she was without her power. There is crazy thinking, and thinking crazy, right now she's on the latter.

Anyways, Gillen is a sjw commie sympathizing shit writer, and so on and whatever more.
>>
>>95150236
no the heavies are only flawed because they had no time to perfect the design, like the germans had with the standard panzermench. Jew hulk was just overstacked on flawed model of how the heavy should work, so her legs were fucked and her knees buckled. presumably the germans just got lucky with the blitzmensch or else those helmets are really there to make sure their halo doesn't backfire and explode their heads,
>>
>>95150088
We don't know that she's pure halo. In fact, considering she survived an explosion that chunked about seven other people and has grown a few feet, she almost certainly isn't pure halo.

Pure stacks fuck you up, it's all about getting the right balance.
>>
>>95152208
not this nazi fanwank garbage
>>
>>95152120
A few feet? More like inches.

But yes, and considering the force of that explosion it's likely that she has even more than 24 activations there have to be at least one or two physical in her build.
>>
>>95149741
>Basically diamonds are a horrible building material for a road, even worse than gold.
oh well, maybe in the future they adress it, like having to change tires too often or asking her to change the road to something more normal

>>
>>95152987
>>95152120
She's probably either a 36 or 48 or massively stacked Halo over Physical. The rewards for uneven stacking aren't linear.
>>
>>95152448
this is wanking off Soviets, though
>>
>>95154320
uhh... potentials are measured in terms of units. standard potentials have 2 , destroyer classes have 6, cruisers 12 and battleships 24 or more (possibly) . most of the itme they're working with strength and halo effects alone and you can use the unit you have just about any way. standard tank men are usually 1/1 strength and halo, heavies double up on strength, blitzes double up on halo. but once you're beyond standard potentials it opens right up, though we haven't seen every combo possible. the battleships are usually 12/12 strength/halo but Churchill was 23+ all strength. and there have been cruisers that are 4/8, or destroyers that were 5/1 strength/halo. in story the allies don't know how to specialise towards halo, only strength, and the axis have both, the Japanese apparently neither. then there's the disguise enhancements and the super speed of the zephyrs, but you can assume it works along similar lines.
>>
>>95154523
Glorious soviet atheist gods.

They do not exist.
>>
>>95152448
oh, more shitposting on 4chan. imagine that.
>>
>>95154718
I'm still wondering about Dunkirk's ONE halo activation and why we never see him using it.

My personal theory as stated in the tank throwing test. Is that the more lopsided a stack is, the greater the effect of that enhancement, in detriment of the other.
>>
>>95154878
That's not even a theory. Dunkirk had physical attributes as a 5:1 better than a 6:6. It's just a shame they didn't balance out Leah.
>>
Have battleships ever fucked each other?
>>
>>95154997
Sieglinde and Siegfried did
>>
>>95154919

Yes but he still had one halo activation.

Did the other 5 negate it completely or was it so weak that it was useless? Does that mean that every 5 units of one enhancement negate one unit of the other?

If we assume Maria to be a 24 activation uber, she'd probably have to be 19:5
>>
>>95147185
It's probably adictive while you're transitioning to full activation.
>>
>>95154878
>My personal theory as stated in the tank throwing test. Is that the more lopsided a stack is, the greater the effect of that enhancement, in detriment of the other.

Way back, there was speculation that the stacks worked best on prime numbers.

So, Dunkirk with 5 physical was a beast.

A 7/5 Cruiser would be as strong or stronger than a conventional 12/12 battleship.

And a 5/19 battleship would be Maria.

>>95155046
>If we assume Maria to be a 24 activation uber
Going by test done by soviets on how her blood pretty much wrecked an entire apartment building I would say she is an battleship++ , but yeah she isn't pure hale build since she is a head or two taller than before activation.
I hope they will do some more halo/physical/speed mix builds in the future, imagine someone with one hale, one speed and rest physical stats, the entire battlefield would be pretty much one by that person.
>>
>>95147329
And yet she somehow managed to double-stack Halo activations by herself.
>>
zephyr were such a dumb concept
>>
>>95154878
actually we do. right before he dies, at the hands of the german cruisers his eye patch comes off and we see him try to use it, b/c his arm had been taken off. it was obviously ludicrously weak, though.
>>
>>95147329
The Germans very well might not be aware of how the Halo Effect can shape reality at the molecular level with fine detail. There's the sculptor uber who made Not!Hitlers, but nothing else for the Krauts. They probably haven't considered Ubers for such fine applications on a large scale because they need every single uber they have more than anyone else. One tankman for Germany is more precious than one tankman for the Soviets for a few reasons
>Germany has a much smaller population than its foes, meaning a lower total number of uber candidates
>The Germans have been examining Uber tech for a while, and are much closer to maxed out uber population than the Allies
>Defending Germany requires immense aggression at this point, so most Ubers need to be deployed offensively.
Between all that and Sankt being executed by Hitler there's very little incentive for the Germans to ever look at having Ubers make Catalyst. If they did, they would also be in danger of their Uber's going rogue since they would literally require nothing anymore from the Nazi regime.

>>95154919
Going by how immensely effective Dunkirk was, a 20:4 Churchill would've destroyed the entire German army in France overnight.
>>
>>95155186
I think Maria is more than battleship as >>95155213 says just due to how volatile her reaction was. It was way more than the other battlefield potentials we saw, albeit she was already activated. There's nothing that says 24 has to be the cap.
>>
>>95154718
Zephyr activation takes up both of a standard potential's 2 stacks. It's not known currently if Zephyr activation is a "flat" 2 stack activation cost for all potential classes, or it automatically consumes all of an Uber potentials stacks.
>>
>>95147185

It's because the blonde girl here wasn't fully-activated yet. Razor and all other Battleships we've seen aren't addicted to the catalyst, because they've been constantly fed it. (Since they want to get them working as soon as possible.)

>>95146736

After a psychotic break, maybe.
>>
still not using the swastika ?
>>
>>95155140
If that were the case, Hideki/Yamato would have killed himself long before he left Okinawa.
>>
>>95155213
>>95155349
Could we put Maria in a new class?

Aircraft Carrier perhaps? It'd fit in thematically since the carriers ended up replacing battleships.
>>
>>95155345
>Going by how immensely effective Dunkirk was, a 20:4 Churchill would've destroyed the entire German army in France overnight.
Physical stacking seems like the more useful anti-Uber tech, but Halo stacking has way more general power and utility.
>>
>>95144185
Where do i start with uber? with the #1 of the Uber comic or the #0?
>>
>>95156458
def the 0. no question. things make a lot more sense.
>>
>>95155551
Not really, it's basically bringing a knife to a gun fight, except that the guy holding the knife is basically is basically an Andre the giant sized Ussain Bolt wearing plate armour.

You need more dakka against such a guy or sufficient distance.

>>95155502
We chalk that one up to the many, many plotholes.

>>95155313
I remembered that scene differently so I went back and checked again.

I think that was the halo effect is from the Klaudia impersonator trying to fry his face, however, since at that point his hand is choking her throat, she might be unable to concentrate and bring the full power of her 8 unit halo on his face.

Then the other bastard came up from behind and blew up his arm. That was about to bash her face in.

I thought it was retarded of him to let go of the woman and charge at the guy who had just blown up his arm. he should have concentrated on beating the crap of the female cruiser into a vicious melee, making it harder for him to take a shot. Hell if he'd just kept his hand on the woman's neck and squeezed, he'd probably have been able to pop her head off.

But he didn't know that at the time. It's true.
>>
>>95157097
>it's basically bringing a knife to a gun fight
Nope. It took hours to wear Leah down with Halo and she was physically impervious. A properly stacked physical Uber would have defenses to trump the comparative Halo Uber, and would be so much faster that honestly their reaction wouldn't even come into it. High Phys is what you use to make Ubers that kill Ubers.
>>
>>95149809

>last issue was the Allies making their first clean kill against the most powerful Nazi battleship on the field, cutting their overall offensive power in half

The Allies will win, they're just taking a harder ass kicking than they did in real life, which wasn't even close to what the Axis received, objectively speaking. If Yamato wasn't stomping around the West Coast, the Nazi offensive would be ground down to a nub by this point, even with the rampant stupidity infecting the Allies.
>>
>>95159638
>clean kill
didn't they lose all their Zephyrs in the process
>>
>>95144185
>How will they ever recover

They'll probably use one of their 700 other battleships. Can you believe it? Only 700! Those crazy Germans are really in for it now.
>>
>>95144546
>>95144564
So whats the deal with guy 2 and 3, I guess 2 have starved so long that he committed seppuu with his own hand but what about 3 did Maria got to im or he fucked up with body morping?
>>
>>95159659

Compared to what's invested into a battleship, a handful of American Zephyrs is practically nothing in terms of what the Nazis lost when Siegfried was bled to death like a pig. The Nazi offensive is practically ground to a halt, they're receiving no further reinforcements worth a shit, and they've encountered a new type of enhanced human that they can't develop a definitive counter for, aside from just spamming halos all over the place.

Once the Nazis lose Siegmund and the rest of their enhanced human forces in the US, there's not much left for them unless they completely asspull another battleship or two to compliment Sieglinde, who is basically a halo turret slaved to a wheelchair and vulnerable to a stronger physically-inclined Uber, Leah could simply Hulk Hop onto her at this point.

It's not going to be easy for the Allies, they still actually have to try, but they're still in a better position than the Axis.
>>
>>95160063

>>95156458
None, don't start so you don't get stuck bitching about this mediocre and stretched out series
>>
>>95160063
Well again, remember that the Nazis have never had any illusions about actually winning the war. All they've ever set out to do since the Ubers gave them their second wind is destroy enough of the world that "losing" the war essentially becomes irrelevant if everyone's fucked.

I mean the reason that America became a superpower is because it was largely untouched by the war. Meanwhile Russia is pumping out insane god queens who shit catalyst and form diamond from dirt.

>>

>>
>>95162196
Not entirely, Goebbels seems pretty sure that they can win. Evin with Guderian thinking they were fucked early on he went right along with planning the great burn and the invasion, both to put them in a position to win.
>>
>>95160063
Except that in terms of military capacity the Zephyrs would have been far more useful by not targeting the battleships and killing the Nazi support units and blitzmen instead. The blitzmen are what are doing the heavy lifting for the Nazi forces, Siegmund and Siegfried risk halo overexertion if they're active for more than six hours. Hell, using the figures given for the Zephyrs, they could travel from the USA to the Eastern front through Siberia in less than a week. As long as they can figure out and avoid where Sieglind is located they could probably collapse the whole German front with Soviet backing.

The problem with your assertion is that a.) the Germans have the most advanced knowledge of halo medical usage, b.) have more or less cut off Europe from American shipping, and c.) Russia doesn't have the manpower or resources to move the front.
>>
>>95162782

>They never really sold more then 2k a month if I recall.

And the shame is, the core of this story could have been awesome. Supers in WW2? Aliens as the source? Nazi Germany getting a new lease on life?

This could have been super awesome, crazy Nazi superweapons, racing stacks, the evil Nazi ubers being bad, the heroic American ubers being heroic, the Stalinist Ubers being slightly worse than the Nazi's but fighting the good fight....

That touch of the American Ubers wearing bomber jackets? That's a nice touch.

Hell, the SJW faggot writing this could have even got his feminist jollies by making Rosie the Riveter or Betty Page one of the American Ubers, concocting some BS that a USO squad got activated by accident or something.

Give us heroes to root for, expand that cool powers system, give us a good STORY.

Instead we got...this Nazi/Commie-loving, hate-America, recidivist-history, SJW-Mary-Sue shit-fest. Gillen believed the propaganda a little too much, and s he set out to write a WW2 which punished America it's "fair share".

>>
>>95155544
One of the theories on this general is that Maria is actually not a battleship but a Carrier.
Not a new class, but a typification just for her for her ability to be a producer of catalyst
>>
>>95157097
>>95155502
we can't call it a plothole until we are sure that her catalyst isnt addictive.
though it does make a good case of being a plothole because of how the US was desperate to stop Colossus II development as a heavy cruiser and said that in the future it would be hard to re-start the process until full maturity, unlike Hideki who just brushed it off after months of not being developed.

I remember reading in an interview, Gillen said that this series is about what if the Nazi's got the bomb first, which leads me to ask- how close were the Nazi's to getting the A Bomb?
>>
>>95161723
Did they ever mention that he was scottish?

>>95162196
Many people have already said this already but a story about post war society and the consequences of Uber development, could also be interesting as fuck. We know from the narrations, that Germany lost, that the allies were victorious despite the inmense cost, and that Uber technology is widespread and well known. There is also a hint, from one particular narration panel during the siege of Antwerp, that suggests that maybe enhanced humans can be countered by conventional means in the future.

They were actually closer before the war than by the end of it. While they kept a lead in rocketry, they had no actual atomic research worth mentioning.

The atom bomb was actually very criticized even inside the US Army, very few people really thought it'd work. Mostly due to misunderstanding of nuclear physics. but because it was something that defied imagination at the time.

Doubling down on Jew Hulk was such a bad idea, you'd think that one of the spies was running the program.

Why did the Brits prioritize strength over halo when its clear that the halo effect is where its at?
>>
>>95167542
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/German_nuclear_weapon_project
>>
>>95167646
because they didnt have the information needed to unlock more of the halo effect than they already did, they did reasearch and found more on how to unlock the physical stacks, since time is pressing they decided to focus efforts on what they knew.
>>
>>95167646
They only managed to figure out the physical boost. The Germans had an Uber spy with a largely unexplored mental stack (there's a line about how compatibility for that enhancement is rarer than Battleships), that was stealing information. So the Germans took what the Brits learned about "double stacking" or "loaded stacking" or whatever and applied it in another direction while benefiting from the work on physical stacks already completed.
>>
>>95167585
Yes, but provided you have both surprise and score a direct hit. Remember how a tank blew the motorbike a panzermensch was riding on, and all it did was piss him off. Even a regular V2 is fast enough to dodge or can detonate the thing before it hits him with his halo.

>>95167615
Issue 16 page 22. "As with much else in this period, the only solution was an enhanced human one". After describing how conventional weaponry had failed to break the siege of the blitzmensch.

But this being Gillen, it could very well be a throwaway line with no actual relevance to the plot rather than foreshadowing of any kind.
>>
>>95167646

Some people in this thread, claim the opposite.
>>
>>95167542
Hitler immediately scrapped it when he heard the possibility that detonating a nuke might take out the Earth with it. It's that old myth that a nuke can ignite the oxygen in the atmosphere to set the entire thing on fire which came up in planet of the apes. The US kept on researching since they didn't know Germany wasn't working on it.
>>
>>95167626
I believe the reasoning was like this. If a heavy tankman can murderize a regular one. A heavy Battleship should be able to do the same to a regular one.
>>
>>95167894
Oh yeah, I remember that was a legitimate concern.

It was also a legitimate belief that ducking and cover would shield you from a nuclear blast.
>>
>>95167959
The idea itself is actually ridiculous once you do the math on it but I kind of doubt that many people were so well versed in the actual science needed to know how stupid an idea that would be considered today.
Duck and cover is actually a surprisingly good idea or at least the basis for one.
If you had on one layer of clothing at hiroshima your clothes would get melted into your skin and or it would just fall off. If you had two layers on at the time you wouldn't have the skin fall off of the clothed areas.
I wouldn't go so far as to say that it will stop the nuclear blast from harming you but I'd vastly prefer keeping my skin from melting off or into anything..
>>
>>95167542
The Nazi nuclear program was a dead end and the Nazis lacked any sort of effective method of delivering a nuclear warhead. The V-weapons couldn't carry the bombs - Little Boy and Fat Man weighed four times more than the V-2's warhead - and the He 177, Germany's only strategic bomber, had a rather poor service record.

>>95167692
The telepathic spies are functionally nothing more than a plot device and are something of a gaping plot hole. Why do they work different from other activations, how did they manage to discover you need a specific compatibility and how did they test to find it, how come the British spy chick has so little actual knowledge of the Nazi Uber program despite having a high position within it and nigh unfettered access to its operations?

The fact that the Allied Uber program is incredibly centralized, can't seem to crack parts of the codex that the Germans already cracked, and largely seem to be taking things one at a time while being ineffective outside of Turing leads me to believe that Gillen is basically winging the story as he goes along.
>>
why no Gillen update in this issue?
>>
>>95167959
Duck and cover is for the edges of the blast zone. If you see a nuclear explosion and are not immediately boiled alive, then you duck and cover, because that helps against the blastwave.

Germans have been trying to crack it for multiple years, Allies are at it since half a year at most.

The fact they managed to come up with more uber types is a testament to their success.

>>
>>95168436
The Nazi program was working in secret, the Allied program has the full backing of Allied intelligence and codebreaking, and access to the already cracked portions of the Codex. At this point all they've managed to figure out are destroyer/cruisers, double stacking, and Zephyrs. The total Allied knowledge at this point is tankmen, heavy tankmen, zephyrs, unequal physical stacking, destroyers, cruisers, and battleships. The total Axis knowledge is tankmen, heavy tankmen (both of which, IIRC, are better than Allied versions), blitzmen, glittermen, unequal stacking in all activations, destroyers, cruisers, and battleships.

Its not. Oxygen and atmosphere composition is such a large system, that you have no idea if its like that or not.
Its something so large, you need a supercomputer to reasonable crunch the numbers.
But there is a few warning signs:
1. Lighters are unable to ignite the atmosphere, and so is other high heat devices. I.E massive hydrogen explosions
2. So if you can't ignite a chunch of air reliably, what happens if a big bomb try to? Will you create spheres of fire? Nobody knew, so its not "ignite the atmosphere" but "how much of the air around the bomb will ignite for second?"

>>95167959
Duck and cover is pretty good.
If you are too close, you are dead
Unless you are not, then your issues in order are:
1. Radiation(light)
2. Heat
3. Sonic boom & shockwave
4. The building's objectes flying around from shockwave, and glass
5. Eventual short term fallout
So basically, if you duck and cover, you secure yourself against everything but the last one, assuming somebody followed the building codes.
So once the shockwave has passed, you can start the evacuation, and since Fallout is planned for, all you need to do is to leave the blast zone or cycle its dirt in a few months.
Then again, in most cases, Population centers is not worth targeting, because you don't have enough nukes to target all enemies production/storage/army capabilities
>>
>>95168766
Also something that people don't realize is that concrete structures are pretty great at protecting things behind them from blastwaves, even if they're destroyed in the process. It's why you maximize the effect of the bomb by airbursting.
>>
>>95168766
HOW DO i SURVIVE SHORT TERM FALLOUT?
>>
>>95168903
By:
1. Moving away from the blast zone
2. Hiroshima and Nagasaki nukes are basically dirty due low yields per KG of radioactive matter.
3. Be willing to have a storage of bottled water. Like 2-3 liters per day, per person, fallout doesn't circulate that long
4. Something something wet rags and breathing masks
5. Don't drink the first or second set of rainwater after surviving

>>
>>95170769
We know that the halo effect can hit the zephyr since they just aren't fast enough to dodge most of the expansion area.
My problem is that apparently the other battleship was able to determine what exactly was happening, figure out how that they are moving insanely fast, know they are still vulnerable to halo attacks, and then walks off all in the span of a a minute.

i'm pretty sure the comic mentioned that dunkirk's one halo somehow had a stabilizing effect on his physical enhancements rather than giving him super vision.

his eyes turned blue when he ran also, so i suspect the reality warping effect was more a subconscious thing for him to allow him to move at such superhuman speeds.

likewise, leah's last activation was halo, and she barely improved, likely because a single halo wasn't enough to offset her insane properties.

That are unknown by that point in time when the Zephyrs killed Siegfried. They were simply unlucky enough to get caught in his head explosion and his subsequent wild firing of halos, and the last guy died burning himself out.

Whatever countermeasures the Nazis deploy will have to be on a level even more horseshit powerful than Zephyrs.

wtf I love Maria now
>>
>>95171592
She improved quite a lot actually. At 20:0 she couldn't even move without tremendous pain, and was constantly exhausted because, without any halo-effect to help, her body was maintaining itself with only mundane biological processes.

After her activations were finished she was a lot closer to fine. Would have been much better off with 2 or 4 halo though.

Is this series still about the Allies getting gangraped until they finally scrape a win, only for the next panel to reveal a never before seen Diablous Ex Machina that gets them horribly butchered?

It's still implied that the Axis lose regardless, they're just getting in their spite licks before they're ground into powder.
