KO and the others look over the various quirky weapons; watering cans that shoot fire, banana boomerangs, etc.. before deciding they need something CUSTOM and theme-appropriate (maybe it's even better if a new character is the focus of this one, going first to the bodega for some powerups and THEN to this store, with new friends in tow), and asking the proprietor of the weapon store where the goods come from.. then seeking out this blacksmith who can make any crazy theme-ass thing you want. it'd be fun. like maybe it's some snake guy they meet and he's all "i've gotta have one of those swords that turns into a whip made of smaller pieces of sword, yknow? i'm a snake guy." and then at the store they have 'em but they're all like eel or dachshund themed with little carved faces on the hilts and he insists he needs a snake version
and then in the end a custom one costs too much anyway so KO just takes his favorite toy snake and glues its head onto the hilt of one of the eel whipswords. because that's the kind of guy he is. and we learn a lesson about just making do with what you have until you can afford what you really want
