If you could make a cartoon of your own, what would it be about? In general, that is, without getting into too much detail about the characters and keeping the autism to a minimum?

Guess I'll post this one again:

A middle-aged barbarian frost giant is cursed and turned into a dwarf.

He tries to find a spell to reverse this, learning several other spells (particularly ice spells) in the process, and becomes somewhat of a wizard.

Since his home is too big for him to live in now, he stays in an inn in a town for more human-sized people. Some of the inn's other regulars include a zombie peasant girl who's all too willing to help him with anything (he treats her more like a minion than anything, at least at first.) and an ogre/troll (not sure which one yet) who's an aspiring barbarian who was a fan of the wizard's back when he was a giant.

The show would be a comedic fantasy (though preferably without anachronistic jokes because those are in pretty much every comedic fantasy) with fantasy elements loosely based off of Norse Mythology.

Not sure if the episodes should be 11 minute or 22 minutes.

I dunno, I think comedic fantasy is on the rise now after a few South Park episodes and that one Futurama movie.

Best of luck to you, though, I'd watch it. Sounds kinda webcomic-y to me.
>>
>>95134489
Sorta like this one, I like the idea of playing with the size of the main character vs. his surroundings and the servile zombie girl. Also the curse could give the show direction if you have him researching/journeying/interacting with one-off characters trying to reverse it.
>>
>>95134745
Okay, thanks. Out of curiousity, what sounds webcomicy about it?

On a planet with maze-like caverns leading from surface to core, the outside world is dominated by chaotic, ethereal monsters while the interior is guarded by Forge, god of heat, iron, strength, and order, who makes his home in the molen center of the planet. Between them lies a world of strange creatures and civilizations living among the different levels. When the nightmarish demons of the surface begin to encroach on the MC's village (only a few miles underground), he must venture to the very center to ask Forge for a weopon more powerful than iron to save his home. Along the way, he finds that Forge and increasingly terrifying minions (creatures with mostbflesh replaced by rigid, burning metal, lacking all free will) may be little better than the agents of chaos.

Alright, I'mma post my idea again.

It's a parody of New Gods, with this cosmic superhero whose archnemesis is his dad, but who is abandoned when everyone else prefers an Earth superhero. The artstyle could be something like the superhero episodes of Dexter's Lab.

Pleeeeease. Legends and folklore (besides really obvious and overdone ones like vampires and bigfoot) are my favorite story bait, and I have a soft spot for Canadian and Indian lore (helps that I'm from New Orleans). I'd especially look forward to a Loup Garou episode.

>Isolated cloud city throws girl off the edge towards Earth
>Girl, with little knowledge about regular Earth people, decides it would be a good enough idea to use her misfortune to get to know Earth people and live on her own
The show also has some undertones of 60s pop music like Pet Sounds and SMiLE.

Thoughts?

8/10; would watch. There should be more unreliable narrators in cartoons. What sort of villain does he work for?
>>95134527
Sounds more like a one-off joek than something that could carry a show. I mean, how would have episode ideas past episode 6?
>>95134646
Not quite enough to go off, honestly. Is it actiony, with both sides bringing technology/fighting skills or something? Or more sitcommy with zany schemes? I have trouble guaging the show without some idea of how the episodes play out.
>>95134816
>Master shake in human form and mosters
Okay, I'm intrigued. Assuming you could get the writing down, sounds like a 7/10. What sort of monsters, though?>>95134840
Sounds cute, actually. Would probably watch.
>>95134884
I know that other anon said it's been done, but seems like you have a lot of wiggle room with how you write the monsters, not to mention villainwise. I mean, if you can have 7 different Batman cartoons, why not 2 Universal monster cartoons? I'm a big fan of Unicersal monsters, so I'd definitely watch.
>>95134993
Sounds cute, would probably give it a try. What sort of adventures do they go on? Are the girl and monster friends?>>95135095
Sounds lewd. I'm interested. Reminds me a bit of Ugly Americans, oddly enough, but I can't quite put my finger on why.
>>95135098
Is he enemies with his dad due to serious reasons, or just sitcommy stuff, since it's a parody? I'm always sort of interested by in-universe underrated/disliked superheroes, so this sounds pretty good actually. Feels lien I'm saying this about every cartoon, but would probably watch.
>>95135655
Lovecraft feels like a relatively untapped treasure trove for cartoons, so that alone piqued my interest. I'm also a fan of "the every day life of weirdos most shows keep mysterious", so I'm down to see cultist antics.

I'm assuming comedy, since shipbuilding and especially ship trade wouldn't be developed for a few centuries? Either way, sounds like a neat idea, though I'm interested to see how you would keep comedy (assuming it's a comedy) fresh past the first 10 episodes or so.
>>95135857
Don't know why, but this gives me an anime vibe. I'm a sucker for fish out of water stories, so this would probably be up my alley to an extent. The 60's pop undertones is interesting to me. No other cartoon has that sort of feel at the moment, you know?
>>95134489
I really like this idea. Fantasy races that aren't humans, elves, and orcs can always use more representation in my opinion. The zombie character sounds interesting, and a nice way to explore the whole "monster races" thing in fantasy without going too over the top like that Goblin webcomic does.
>>95134894
Did you in another comment.
>>
>>95136346
>What sort of monsters, though?
i would say a mix between crazy looking monsters that act all goofy and crude badass monsters who act serious.
I would also say the structure of the show is kind of like cowboy bebop, where every episode they meet a new antagonist in a new location. But unlike cowboy bebop, where the villains have tragic backstories, in this one most of the backstories are funny or ridicolous, with a couple of them being sympathetic
>>
>>95136579

>>
>>95136622
The paladin dudes quite clearly just kill goblins for fun, to the point of dismembering the children. It just doesn't feel like a deconstruction, when most fantasy settings at leas pay lip service to the fact that evil races are usually, you know, evil. That, and the writer draws goblins crying so often, people legitimately theorize he has a tear fetish. The point is, as long as you don't go with a blatantly, ludicrously 2 dimensional "oppression" angle (where the people who apparently consider themselves good guys just sorta slaughter children for fun and the goblins littally dindu nuffin ever) and have even a little bit of nuance, you'll be fine.
>>95136594
Despite what I said above, I can get behind some just crazy monsters like you said, desu. Especially if each one is visually unique and fun to look at. Monsters of all forms are great and please my autism.

Reposting from last thread.
On Halloween 1997, a lakeside Ohio town is plunged into terror and potential eternal darkness when a horror movie being made by a group of kids somehow becomes frighteningly real.
Together a scaredy-cat who hates Halloween, a teen film geek/aspiring director, and roving gang of troublemaking kids have to take back the night and save the day.
It's an all-ages thing.

Henchguy here. The general idea is that our henchman, Sanson, is a veteran of 'the bad days,' a time when villainy and heroism was significantly more costly in terms of lives and livelihood. Due to his experiences, he takes on contracts as the practical left hand man for villains who engage in crimes that are more dependent on showmanship and sleight of hand than violence.

There's ELO. Chess jock and prick extraordinaire. Fiending for a chance to prove his superiority to a society that has largely moved on from his beloved sport.

Glass. The governor's wife. A bored, talented dancer and instructor that thinks she should have a better taste for high stakes and fine art.

Ribald. A down-on-his-luck corsair. Times are hard and it feels like his character has been played out. Maybe its time to lower that black flag?

Dot. A bloody, lonesome reminder of a past that everyone had honestly tried their best to move on from.

Errol. The dashing right hand ginger fuck of our left hand man. More ambitious than is healthy.

Those are the ones I have so far while I've been fiddling with heroes.
>>
>>95136940
I know. I didn't mean to imply you were. All I originally meant by the monster race thing was "showing a character of a species usually portrayed as mindless and monsteousl as something else. I don't really know why I brough up Goblins, but when you followed up on it, I though you *might* be concerned about falling into the same thing, but I figured your original post would have mentioned if you intended a whole Xman thing.

Probably already been done, but cartoon about kids in high school.
These 3 friends (two guys and a girl) are the main characters. Some episodes focus on them but others focus on other characters at the school. One episode could be the main characters getting into wacky hijinks and another episode could be about another kid at the school who deals with the struggles of his daily life.

It's a story that takes place in 80's California about three highschool kids forming a garage band together and the band becoming too big for their own good.

In the end they break up and go off with their own lives.

A young journalist major is whisked away to an alien planet modeled after the wild west. Her only hope to to survive the ordeal is to tag along with a gun totting, one tentacled, alien cowboy on a quest to vanquish the "Psychopathic Psix", a gang that that's taken over every settlement on the planet. Think typical western tropes with a dash of HR Giger.

A Girl in her early 20s is sent by her family to take care of an aunt with failing physical and mental health who lives alone in an isolated old mansion. Once there she finds out the walls of the ancient house are home to two apparently omnipotent deities that are at constant odd with each other. They are however unable to directly interact with each other, so they decide to use her as a new pawn in their game. She must learn quickly the rules of this game if she hopes to escape the house alive.

It starts on a Scotland-esque island, loosely governed by a massive overseas empire and follows a rambunctious and tomboyish farmgirl and the illegitimate haughty crown prince. Across the land its said that snakes are the trickiest of creatures, that the smartest of them could speak human tongues and even shapeshift. Many took it as a legend, but one night the emperor was murdered, and it was discovered he was really a snake in disguise. As the palace was in chaos, the prince was forced to flee, eventually stranding himself on a distant island. After meeting a worldly, plucky farmgirl, he hires her to escort him out of the empire, to safety.
It would be a bit Avatar-esque, with semi-episodic stories building on top of each other as they travel through strange lands.

tl;dr: its discovered that snake people control the government, so a prince and farmgirl go on adventure to flee the country
