No, absolutely not. The only good thing that ever came out of Legend of Korra is the porn and you don't have to suffer through the show to enjoy that.

ATLA has excellent storytelling and likeable characters. However the animation is honestly shit in the first season, and only improves marginally until the last season, which improves significantly.

LoK on the other hand has an oversized, forgettable cast and awful pacing. It's conceptually strong for the most part but everything plays out in the most boring, predictable way possible. The only thing it has going for it is consistently good animation.

The first season of LoK makes the first season of ATLA look like some low-budget shit from the 80s. I stress "looks like", it's really just the animation and nothing else that's better than average.

Yes. It is arguably the greatest cartoon Nick has ever had a hand in creating.

>Should you watch Korra?
The quality of Korra's season vary from season to season. Season 1 probably has some of the prettiest background art and animation I've ever seen in a cartoon but its plot just falls flat on it face towards the end coupled with a forced romance plot. Season 3 is probably the best of Korra thanks to it's villains. Season 2 and 4 are worst with 2 just pulling ahead. If you must watch them i suggest looking for an episode guide but fortunately you can watch The Last Airbender, never watch Korra and still have a satisfying conclusion.

There are also comics out there that also help tie up some loose ends if you're curious about them.

No, I'm not. I watched both shows during their original airings on television. I've never watched the DVDs. Unless I'm misunderstanding what you mean by DVD compression artifacts?
