Seasons 1 through 3 were actually good.
prove me wrong
pro tip :you can't
If it was never cancelled, we might have had a couple more good ones

FG makes me laugh, which makes it good. I don't need the masses of /co/ to find an objective reason for me to subjectively like a piece of entertainment. It's liberating.
You cucks should try it sometime.
It was ok, a little awkward and predictable but watchable background noise
>>95122602
>tfw you rewatched the first 3 seasons so many times as a kid that they just become white noise if you try to watch them now.
they were perfectly fine but they had a lot of weak points that became more and more apparent as the series went on.
I feel like Seth McFarlane probably didn't get as much control during the start of Family Guy but after it became successful he George Lucas'd it, I could be completely wrong on that though.

other way around, he had a lot of control. look at his college work, it's practically the same as early family guy, after it got revived though they also had American Dad which took a large amount of original FG writers away
Seth MacFarlane also has been stretched thin and openly over FG while still being the head writer, there's a theory that he was actively trying to kill the show by making it worse but it didn't work.
The drop in quality by the way is extremly noticeable side by side, it's worse than what's happened to the simpsons over the years

>If it was never cancelled, we might have had a couple more good ones
That kind of mentality is EXACTLY what led to more being made in the first place. And look what happened.

FG Seasons 1-3 was actually kind of fresh and out there for a time(a middle ground between the Simpsons and South Park.).
I like that for the most part, they've never gotten as stupidly sentimental as Simpsons and generally don't have pointless celebrity cameo's.
>>95123216
No, because American Dad split the writing staff very early on in the revival and it's noticeable. If Family Guy continued it would have gone to shit the same way but the few years it was off would have seen a couple of good seasons
>>95122679
I'm actually past that point (I haven't watched it in about 8 years) and now I can enjoy them for what they are.
Same thing with the original pre-cencellation Spongebob.
>>95122602
The way I see it-
Classic: Seasons 1-3
Post-Cancellation: Seasons 4-5
Transitional: Seasons 6-8
Zombie: Seasons 9-present
>>95123292
I think you're about right
Seth wanted the show to end around season 6 or 7 and that's when quality starts dropping
>>95123089
Jesus the writing is night and day
It's amazing how many of these gags still work.

>liking modern family guy
Hanging yourself would be a mercy.

The Mercy Seat
>>95122602
Fun Fact: Seth wanted this show to end on it's 7th season... Fox refused.
>>95122679
God that happened to me with pretty many much all the shows I'd watch as a kid

He must be under contract considering he does a lot of the voices. If he really wanted to quit he would be able to otherwise.
