Jon's shown better understanding of composition before, so I don't get why these pages are as bad as they are. This reads terribly.
Erh? The colors are a bit distracting sometimes, but the layout works for me (and it's nice to see somewhat mature topics that wouldn't have been allowed in Sonic).

Really? The panel layout is jarring and often ill suited to the angles he chooses. Like, the very first page right? The first panel is overlaid on top of the second...but the transition is a zoom out and pan down. I feel like he probably dis that to make the clock a more overt presence, but it throws off the page. On top of that a lot of the stylistic choices and techniques being employed seem completely random.
I could harp on about other shit, but the composition is the part that's confusing me. I've seen him do much better, in some cases nearly a decade ago. It reads like an amateur experimenting with techniques they've seen, not a published cartoonist who's worked on comics for years.
