Have any ideas for your own cartoons?

A kid gets caught looking at porn by his parents, they think something's wrong with him and send him to an asylum for disturbed kids. He befriends an unpredictable psychotic boy and a moody girl who's done with everyone's shit and they go on surreal misadventures together.
>>
>>95087847
That sort of reminds me of the other asylum-related cartoon idea that gets posted in a lot of these threads
>>
Nah but a couple for comics.

Though I would like an action cartoon based on Cattle Raid of Cooley.

A comic idea that I am kind of sort of working on in a super half assed way.

Because I am terrified of failure if I sincerely give it my all and find out that my best just wasn't good enough

yeah. I almost thought this was that asylum anon

Space Western/Opera/sci-fantasy that starts with two fraternal twins, one is a 'lesser' but infamous galactic outlaw space cowboy. The other is a Galactic Federation Academy flunk out space-Samurai.

After years estranged, they're reunited over their father's disappearance and apparent death, having inherited his strange, blackbox ship, and a request list to fulfill some of his final deliveries.

They're also joined by the ship's AI (projected into a robotic avatar), a space princess with no home to return to (due to revolution), and a nightmare-ridden veteran.

They traverse a galaxy filled with mysteries, wonder, and danger, learning more about themselves, the truth behind their pasts, the meaning in the present, and omens of the future. And they will do this all with sick-ass space ships, giant mecha, and psychic powers as they fly through..

The Wild Aether Yonder
>>
Here's one I thought of pretty recently:

A middle-aged barbarian frost giant is cursed and turned into a dwarf.

He tries to find a spell to reverse this, learning several other spells (particularly ice spells) in the process, and becomes somewhat of a wizard.

Since his home is too big for him to live in now, he stays in an inn in a town for more human-sized people. Some of the inn's other regulars include a zombie peasant girl who's all too willing to help him with anything (he treats her more like a minion than anything, at least at first.) and an ogre/troll (not sure which one yet) who's an aspiring barbarian who was a fan of the wizard's back when he was a giant.

The show would be a comedic fantasy (though preferably without anachronistic jokes because those are in pretty much every comedic fantasy) with fantasy elements loosely based off of Norse Mythology.

Not sure if the episodes should be 11 minute or 22 minutes.

I'll be honest, I don't really know the timeline of American folk legends. Like would Johnny Appleseed be around? Paul Bunyan didn't really become popular until the early 1900s, way after civilization was largely established. A lot of native american mythology stuff like skinwalkers maybe.

All the unwillingly part means is that he just doesn't volunteer to do it. Once he's in it, he tends to be in it whole heartedly.

He just doesn't quite have the choice of when. It's actually supposed to be a running gag that when he tries to call his uncle something like an adventure or an enemy will physically impede him.

The gags going to die off quick to keep it from going stale though but that's the tone.

I'm saying that most likely none of the ideas here will get stolen, and even then it'll probably just eb whichever's the best one

A group of old classic Disney/looney tunes styled cartoon are trying to be relevant again to todays youth so they turn to YouTube for ideas. They see all the artsy animated short films/series (think things like salad fingers or I live in the woods) and decide to try to be like them
Quo them trying to vaguely/subtly write/tell a symbolic story or attempt being gory and disturbing but failing at it in hilarious fashion
In the end they all realise they have to copy what's currently popular and learn that they can just be themselves as the videos they post become really popular not do to being very deep or meaningful but simply from how funny they were in attempting to do so

If you have a good one, share it after October. Some of my colleagues actually browse around 4chan and reddit for pitch ideas to use on the upcoming Mipcom.

I mainly steal from /tv/.
>>
>>95087806
>Idea
Honestly by this point it's a full fledged pitch that needs scripts hammered out instead of the detailed outlines I got.

It's not an adult series but it's not for children either. The first shot of the series is a guy in an unmarked grave waking up covered in his own blood.

Premise is teen is sacrificed to a war demon and due to the cowardly way he was killed he's brought back to life and given the opportunity to live if he is to beat the men who killed him in single combat.

The idea is not as dark as it sounds nor gorey. Which is actually a bit of the trouble because the tone keeps alternating between adrenaline dump fighting and the mc struggling with the influences his powers are having on his personality.

A series about the lives of space pirates in the late 2300s. Earth has colonized most of the solar system and private space travel is available to only the most wealthy. It's a story about the first group of rejects who retrofit hauler ships into makeshift boarding craft and begin robbing freighters. The aesthetic of the world would be grungy, bulky technology designed to be robust enough to go without repairs for years. A mix of Star Wars and Alien if you get what I mean. the short Film Leviathan also captures the look well.

There just isn't enough media about space piracy.

I've had an idea I've been workshopping since middle school.

It's a cartoon about the adventures of two fun animals. One is rocketpig, a normal pig that can propel itself at mach 5 and then some. The other is doggy dick, a dog-shaped phallus that emerges from the unsuspecting pants of anyone in the world.

The episode starts with a person living their life as they see fit. Suddenly doggy dick emerges at the least opportune time for them and rocketpig flies in from out of nowhere to knock the victim out. They then have adventures in the same vein as Snake 'n' Bacon. The B plot would usually be the repercussions of the said victim being totally removed from their life.
>>
>>95090907
>and the mc struggling with the influences his powers are having on his personality.
You're going to have to expand on this bit.

Are we talking "Crawling in My Skin" here?
>>
>>95091308
No.

It's not angst so much as it is an identity crisis. Was my impulse control as bad before the incident, was I as competitive, was I as violent. Am I entirely there and what is planned for me.

It's not what lies inside, it's what was taken out and what placed in it's stead.

He's not going to be struck by bouts of depression or a desire to brood but very active and loud paranoia.
>>
>>95091377
that is a form of crawling, anon. and even if it wasn't the "MC struggling with newfound power and accepting it" has been redone to hell by now.

A caveman-martial artist that fights wild prehistoric monsters and the evil dinosaur empire.
>>
>>95091403
I guess but still I'd like to take a crack at it.

Mostly because I want to tell a version of it with a guy who is genuinely a heroic individual. Instead of the fear being am I a monster the struggle is him very firmly holding on to the core tenets of what he believes and who he is.

This might make it sound like it's going to lead to more angst but he never accepts the powers. I only have four arcs plotted out but from right now I have it very firm in my mind that no matter how long the story goes on he never embraces it as he might.

He uses them. He gets better with them but it's always held at arms length and put down when not needed. Because while he is at his core a competitor and a fighter more deeply than that at his core he has the belief that he lives in a good world full of good people where his heart will never fail to carry him through.

That's where the darker bit of the tone comes in because it's hard. He starts the series run over by a car, has impulse control issues develops a temper. He goes from fighting people whom are greedy and angry to truly malevolent forces that are are still distinctively human but he always overcomes it. Not easily but eventually he always gets back on the good path.

It's sad at times but overall I want it to be hopeful.

>And retired spaceman Major Tom
>With Mrs. Robison as secretary.

Together they go around getting involved with all kinds of crazy episodic schemes while exploring group dynamics. The whole show is basically an excuse to have Easter Egg after Easter Egg. Some idea's I've already though of include.

>A Hannibal Lecter styled Excitable Boy
>Werewolves of London vs. Father McKenzie
>A showdown at the Japanese Gambling den, the House of the Rising Sun.

Lots of comic ideas with pretty detailed outlines, but on a deeper examination they can be reduced to "x meets y" which means they aren't very good.

You can literally reduce any form of media that exists to "x meets y", that doesn't necessarily constitute an argument for dismissal (not that I disagree that a lot of the ideas on this thread are shallow and poor).

>>95093070
Just for fun, how about we take every idea in this thread and see what "x meets y" descriptor fits best for it

I wanna try it on major comics.

Batman:Rich kid meets crime, gets scarred for life.
Superman:Alien child meets Earth, wacky adventures.
The Flash:Man meets speed force, becomes superhero.
The Punisher:Man meets crime, on his own terms.

Can we think of a comic this doesn't fit?

One of those chosen one has to save the world type shows. Episodic format with varying in length story arcs. The focus of the show though is the sidekick. We see all episodes through the perspective of the sidekick. We get to see how they live their lives, interact with people other than the chosen one, and ultimately see their decision in sacrificing themselves.

I'd say that this is in a fantasy setting with the sidekick as a magic user.

The show takes place in a cartoony world dominated by supervillains. The basic gist of it is that some event allowed supervillains to defeat most of the former heroes. Thus, upon victory, they now have turned their sights on trying to destroy each other. Titles in progress are "Henchmen For Hire" or "Criminal Union".

The primary focus is on two villainous partners trying to profit off the war by selling their services to villains in need of henchmen (who they secretly steal from). It''s mostly episodic and comedic, focused primarily on character moments and comedy.

The main cast consists of
>A sleazy lawyer/real state agent type, working his way up in the ranks. Works primarily as a schemer, whether it's cutting deals with other supervillains, working as a lawyer to pull them out of jail, devising heists which will inevitably fail so he can get insurance money, and so on. He's a backstabbing, arrogant cunt who overestimates his intelligence, much to his detriment. Wants to make it big as a supervillain.
>A stocky, greasy mechanic who makes a living of building/repairing machines and selling it to other villains. Can be quite reliable and friendly even if his interests are selfish and greedy. Wants primarily money and comfort
>A witch/magician who frequently tags along with the brothers to steal from them, who also provides help as a distraction/escape route thanks to her skills. Has no grand pretensions of villainy, just wants to pay the bills for her circus and have fun doing it.
>A hobo who crashes by in their dumpster. Used to be a superhero himself, has now become lord of the rats. Powerful, but unstable. Trying his best even if his best involves a lot of destruction. Think of it as Doc Savage meets Cosmo Kramer.

Pic related is a close depiction of how I envisioned the two main characters (albeit they will be human and with designs corresponding to their characters)
>>
>>95087806
The world used to be technologically advanced with robotic servants, androids, flying boards, and more, until a great war set it back. In order to preserve technology and other items, the nations of the world ended up putting technology into deep underground vaults filled with dangerous traps and other goods.

Flash forward 1000 years after the war, new races of beings aside from Humans arise along with new nations. The new governments commission a guild of explorers to raid the vaults and bring out the technology of the world for vast amount of pay. Next to these commissioned explorers are pirates who raid the vaults.

The Main Character is an android who wakes up in the care of a veteran explorer who wants to use them as a pack mule during their exploration of ruins. The MC however was created with the special duty of retrieving the parts to a new type of technology that was hidden in the vaults across the world, if the war was to end in a disaster, but they ended up getting attacked by rogue robots and getting shut down.

Now to complete their task the MC will embark on a quest with their veteran explorer master and other explorers fighting against a genocidal robot army, pirates, and other factions who want the new type of technology the MC is looking to create and use as part of their duty.

Too bad I can't into cartoons.

AI Adventures: Heavily inspired by Megaman Battle Network, as well as my habit of naming smartphones/tablets/the one iPod Touch. Smartech produces phones, tablets, and weird-ass MP3 player/ smartphone hybrids called eMusi Plays. Each one contains an AI, who helps their owner, a sort of digital assistant. AIs can travel from device to device and explore the Interworld, a sort of internet dimension. It follows Pinkaboo, Cookie, Lavli, and Glitter (and more, these guys just the main ones) on their quest to protect the Interworld from viruses, hackers and evil AIs, namely their nemesises, The Glitches, a team of Rogue AIs lead by Burst.

Overall setup is fine, but I think some changes could be made.
A barbarian ice giant, turned dwarf, wizard is too much for me. I'd suggest dropping the wizard aspect. Or at least, maybe have him try to learn magic, but have it blow up in his face.
Why are there zombies and trolls in a person tavern? I think you could do a separate setting thing where the new dwarf can go to this regular adventurer bar but has trouble talking with them because he's an ex-fronst giant, and a monster camp where he has to convince everyone there that he is the giant and not a dwarf fighter looking to kill them, then gets into regular shenanigans with them.

Plenty. But one I though of was a sci-fi series set after humans go to war with a federation of alien species after attempting to colonize them. Humanity lost, but were allowed a place in the federation. However, the war caused a massive amount of destabilization leading to planets fighting internal wars (which had never occurred until humans entered the picture) and rampant space piracy.

The protagonist would be a human who wants to join a sort of police force that traditionally never allowed humans due to her contempt for space pirates and a desire to improve humanities standing in the federation. The series would follow her as she applies, joins and enforces the law under said space force.

I'd like it to be lighthearted despite the themes, and the protagonist wouldn't be some angsty edgelord, but an optimistic go-getter. Comedy elements would be present but action would be center stage. To set ti apart from the billion sci-fi works with similar settings, it would have a retro futuristic aesthetic.

It sound like you're trying too hard to be edgy in a space that doesn't need it.
You could simply have the guy come back to life, there's no need to elaborate and explain it or the nature of his powers. Be subtle about it. Don't explain what they are, what the limitations are, what the possible repercussions might be.
Just show the guy not want to use them because he knows that they aren't right, and they aren't him.
>>
>>95095641
Well yeah.

It's an evil thing done by two selfish idiots to an innocent person they didn't know. It was a fucked up horrible thing and the kid they did it to moved on and was a better person despite it and despite the weight he carried with him due to it.

It's what defines his character in the early goings. There's the anger, a hint of how his personality is changing but he doesn't go after them to tear them apart or get vengeance. He goes after them because they're psychopaths and he can stop them.

So you have this guy with this origin and the man he is despite it is one who struggles with his demons and sometimes fails but always steps up when he needs to step up and always believes that one day there will be a better world.

An action cartoon that feels like a saturday morning cartoon, but with minor adult themes. As a prewarning, I read too much Shounen.
>superhero teen series, small town hero school, in this series powers are like muscles and must be trained, MC with minor strength enhancement and energy projection
>secret supernatural world kind of shit, underground thaumaturgists because human's iron blood prevents them from using magic
>aliens send mech suits down to earth, send about 1000 down as a grand tournament, turns out the winner of that tournament is supposed to protect the earth from whatever destroyed all these other civilizations
>monster hunter esque magitech civilization, everyone has a monster as a life partner, traveling across strange lands and fighting other dudes with their partners
>mc with shitty ESP must protect his small town from ghosts and other supernatural beings, uses a baseball bat more than his powers
I need to figure out which one of these is yhe most interesting so I can start writing and storyboarding.

Well the issue with that idea is that the origin he has plays into the story deeply.

He starts off fighting people who are just kind of malevolent, but as the story progresses he starts to come up against the things he could have been. Not only others who had come into similar deals and lacked his moral fiber but also other individuals who could be seen as the victims of circumstance like he bad been and had taken a different darker turn.

This was in the other post but that origin it never really defines him. Others see it as such in universe and he struggles with the issues it causes but in time it just becomes another occasion where he got back up again.

An ancient magical queen with the assistance of ancient spirits seals away an ancient evil that wanted to make all life part of it. The peasant MC who has always dreamed of becoming more than a farmer boy, accidentally discovers and destroys 1 of 5 pillars which keeps the ancient evil sealed away.

The ancient evil then appears before the MC and gives them a portion of its power and sends them on a grand quest to destroy all the pillars. While this is going on, a continental war begins to form with 1890s technology between the various kingdoms and them using the power of the ancient evil which they thought was the sealed power of the queen/ancient spirits.

This creates an even bigger clusterfuck as the more power of the ancient evil is being used, the more the ancient evil's minions begin to spawn in the world to cause chaos and the MC is drawn into the middle of it all.

Before the formation of the universe, Eternity and Entropy were engaged in an ages-long struggle against one another. In the climax of their battle, they destroyed one another and the resulting explosion was what we call "The Big Bang."
After billions of years, entropy is spreading across all universes steadily, all of creation still pushed forward and fueled by the only remaining remnant of Eternity, which traversed across space and time to bind itself to a living vessel for reasons yet unknown. Now the spattering of Entropy steadily spreads throughout an omniverse that is ever-expanding so long as the Last Piece of Eternity remains untainted.

I had an idea for a buddy show that was based on this. The hook was that in the future, galaxy travel has become decentralized so the hauling and deliverance of goods falls into the jurisdiction of whatever place in space you deliver to.Things that are legal on Earth might be shady to full on jail time in the Andromeda galaxy etc. However as long as you don't get caught and can keep on trucking then most Galactic Police officers have a hard time throwing the book at you. The story would open up with two desk office bros, one being a delivery guy and the other being an IT helpdesk who just got laid off because their parent company went industrial and replaced everyone with cheap robots. Cut to them trying to get new jobs to no avail until they help an old man who was being mugged by some cyberpunks.

The old man takes them to his home which is right next to a junkyard he owns and they find the truck/car. Delivery bro knows how the hardware while IT guy does the software. Old man helps them because he wants to see the clunkers in action and he has nothing better to do.

They pretty much become Smokey and the Bandit hauling various goods around the galaxy. Sometimes they haul boring stuff, other times they're hauling a mysterious space crystal that could decimate a planet. Either way hi-jinks arise and they somehow meet the deadline for their delivery.

Extra notes was that it was going to be parody level shenanigans with the truck and car combining into a mech like Megas XLR occasionally and various other homages to old tv shows like a rival bootlegging trio that's 50%dukes of hazard and 50% Three Stooges, several cops that range from Axel Foley, Riggs&Murtaugh, and a female Judge Dredd that comes in later as a serious threat.

The show was going to be called Cosmo Cargo and starts off with "random" hauls coming in but actually has it's own continuity/world building.

Opening episode was going to be that they were driving their new rigs back to their old office to pick up their stuff. After that they get a case of mistaken identity when they pull over at a nearby truck stop for some snacks. A slick guy in a suit (think a Mr. Johnson from Shadowrun) has some mooks loads something on their truck as they left it open because Delivery Bro's laundry stank to high heaven. They get back to their cars and he approaches them thinking they're the guys for the job. He hands them a Credbit (small square chips that act like untraceable cash cards) with 50,000 Credit (what both of them make in a year combined) and tells them to get the package to this specific location. IT guy wants to correct him but delivery bro realizes that if they do they could be killed and it's good cred and says just go with it. They do the delivery but several police people start chasing and shooting them after they get past the first checkpoint. They freak out almost pull over to give up until they get a com-link from Mr. Suit. Since they took the money they better deliver because if the cops don't kill them then he will. They double down and haul ass as IT guy navigates for the truck in his car and delivery guy uses his wide load techniques to force the cops into tricky situations that causes them to burn out or crash. They manage to evade pursuit and deliver on time. Afterwards they pull off to another truck stop hoping to ditch the vehicles and cut their losses. However as they go into the convenience store they notice that the TV is tuned into a pirate radio station that has footage of their escapades on the Star hauler scene. Supposedly several other groups are trying to get in contact with the mysterious duo and IT guy gets a call from Suit guy. He lets them off the hook since they delivered and hangs up. They go back to their cars and notice other haulers tip their hats to them as another job comes in on their screen.

Loka also has a lackey named Monroe, who's body consists of half a skull, brain, stomach and lungs stored inside a mechanical suit
Loka saved his life during a botched heist and he owes her his life

Monty is a bit chubby despite all the karate, but is a genuinely nice dude who has an easy time making friends. Rina is a more quiet and reserved girl who is very subtle when showing emotion, but will also tell someone very bluntly if they're pissing her off. While karate is the main focus of the story there is also underlying romantic tension between Monty and Rina that would occasionally play a role in the plot of an episode. The concept is simple

The world is ravaged by monsters and there are a few camps of survivors around the world.

All in all, there's less than 400 people left in the world

Now here's the kicker, the survivors are robots and the monsters are transformed humans that attack anything that isn't a monster. The robots used to be humanity's last ditch effort to fighting the monsters to prevent themselves from transforming. They failed and all of humanity are now monsters. The robots that are still around are not builders or thinkers by design and because of that their numbers are slowly dwindling due to lack of maintenance and supplies to keep themselves going.

The story take place around a small group of robots that raid monster infested cities and factories in search for spare parts for their camp. They use melee weapons more often than ranged ones due to lack of resources. They know the are bleeding to death in this world and are desperate for survival. After finding a mangled robot holding a data stick that contains the location of something called "ARC". They are confused as to what the ARC is and what it does. Since they have nothing to lose, the camp's leader sends the team to search for the ARC.

Their adventure takes them around the world introducing other robots that have survived, either by scavenging for supplies or by attacking other settlements. Fighting to survive every other day against monsters and robots, searching for the ARC.

I pitched this idea to a fellow /co/mmrade that animates on YouTube. Never got a response back on it, so I figured it wasn't very creative to go anywhere with.

>"Witchway's Witch" is an adventure / slice of life that follows the story of Marie and her two best friends, Morgan and Milly, as they investigate the disappearance of Marie's parents, caused by the world's most powerful Witch when she went insane and placed a curse on the town of Witchway.
>Each "episode" or short just features a new mythological creature or situation that leads Marie and friends closer to what they're looking for.

Character descriptions:
>Marie (the one on the roght in the top panel of pic related) is a 13 year-old orphan determined to discover the truth of what happened to her parents. Optimistic and adventurous, seemingly nothing can stop this ordinary girl once she sets her mind on something.
>Morgan (Middle in the top panel) is Marie's best friend and a Witch-in-training who wants to atone for what her grandmother did by helping Marie fight off the many dangers around Witchway and wherever magic is needed. Usually a very calm and collected person, she loses her temper over others that abuse their magic and anything involving her older sister Milly.
>Milly (left, top panel) is the last living town Witch, and often uses her powers to play harmless tricks on people and make her life much more comfortable. She sees Marie as "the sister she wished she had instead" and always takes care of her in times of need. A very lazy but reliable person.

>Athena is a Monk who wants to live peacefully in the woods. Despite this, Marie constantly drags her into dangerous situations that call for her talents. Very friendly despite her stoic appearance.
>Chupacabro is Marie's pet and one of the many monsters they encounter in Witchway. He usually wanders off to suck the blood of any mammals nearby, but especially likes chewing on Morgan's hair.
>Tracy is an 11 year-old Sorceress-in-training and thinks of herself as Marie and Morgan's greatest threat. Despite all the mischief she usually causes, she really just wants to be friends with them. Brash and cocky, she thinks highly of herself.
>Dexter Bower IV is the town's local Alchemist and blacksmith. After discovering a strange kind of magic killed his father, he replaces his right arm with an artifact that can transmute anything toa desired element and goes on a Witch hunt for Milly and Morgan. Usually cheerful and outgoing.
The rest of the cast are minor and or just "creatures of the week", with the main focus being Marie, Morgan, and Milly.

I really feel like I could go somewhere with this idea, but I just don't have the time or the resources to write AND draw with a full time job.

Hell, I even considered commissioning to get pages done, but I don't have that much cash to keep something like that going for long.

>Lives in a world where Pro Wrestlers actually wrestle and chi is a thing.
>First season would consist of adventure of the week with various factions being established and subsequent seasons would follow the MC in his adventures.
It would be incredibly martial arts heavy with the main character being a kickboxer.

I'm going to admit right now that this is not the most plot driven thing in the world. The lore is lacking since it's development started when I day dreamed about a shouting match between a Tiger mask wearing wrestler and a cocky ass kid.

Now that I'm designing the characters, outlining storylines, trying to make a coherent but bizarre enough world to accommodate the frequent genre changes it's far more solid and planned but there will never be anything more serious than maybe a tourney.

A dark fantasy cartoon in the lines of Warhammer and Elric. Except it just follows a pack of peasants. Mummers plays, trying to woo the little baker girl at a ball, gossiping over whether or not the local lord is getting cuckolded by the black slave... Yeah, it'd be a blast. Main characters would be a Burghur boy and his two sisters as they live their lives in a fairly generic medieval city.

One of their tutors is Dave.

Had this idea running around my head for a while.

Basically a semi-futuristic (5-10 years ahead) adventure with a gentle/comfy aesthetic, centred around simulation theory. Essentially this relatively small group of friends stumble apon a glitch in the simulation and start to question a lot of stuff, some of them post about it online and attract attention to themselves and get into a right mess. Obviously haven't delved deep into the idea but a lot of the story is character driven and looks into how different people deal with existentialism. Also has underlying ideas about mental illness and cynicism, as well as everyday life struggles of each of the kids. I think the idea has potential but I've gotta flesh it out way more and build a real world. I also kinda thought about making a game out of it but I'd have to change the format around.

Simultaneously a love letter to and a roast of superhero stories and the subdivision of geek culture that worships them, e.g. crafting similar characters and themes based of the stuff that works while making fun of the stuff that doesn't.
>Adorable inhuman freak MC was created in tube by closeted mad genius, who is also an only child with a single dad.
>Strikes a deal with Men-in-Black-style organization; she becomes a superhero (despite having insignificant powers compared to other superheroes) so they won't dissect her.
>Tries to fit in to everyday life, complicated by being a faceless genderless weirdo.
>Hence, MC's life becomes an uphill climb, trying to be a good enough at heroics to avoid being cut open while pretending to be normal in her off time.
MC's weird nature would also serve as an examination of fitting in to society, how it's really important to feel like you belong somewhere or like you're "normal." Maybe she fits in fine with superheroes or her family, but her brother's high school friend group is another story. Whether she ends up favoring heroism or normality is something I haven't decided.

Pic is doodle of MC, she is blue.

Why do so many people over-explain things? This is a great idea, but is made pretty stupid by the addition of crashed asteroid goo animating a scarecrow. I'm not the original author of the idea, but I think the goo is a good thing. It doesn't specifically have to be goo, but something should bring her to life. I know it's fiction, but it'd be silly to have this one scarecrow just so happen to move, while everything else remains the same. Silly isn't essentially bad, but perhaps it depends on the tone of the show?

As to how it'd work, think a Courage type scenario?

A camp maybe. but an asylum idea is retarded
>>
>>95103829
Why's that?
>>
>>95087912
Might as well post my idea here, if everybody else is doing it. I've added some stuff to it.

A macabre yet light-hearted animated comedy series set in a rather gloomy and old-fashioned mental asylum in the middle of the woods, where nights seem to last far longer than days. The asylum is quite large and sprawling, and the architecture is downright bizarre in some places. The characters would be the various patients and staff members, with roughly equal levels of sanity between them. For example, the head (and only) nurse is an 11 year old girl, and the only orderly is a hulking brute with a spiked ball replacing his right hand. Tonally, the show's inspired by stuff like Ruby Gloom and Courage the Cowardly Dog

The main character is a wide-eyed and spacey little girl. She has long, slightly unkempt red hair that reaches to her knees. She’s rather loopy, eccentric, abundantly creative, and unusual. She also scares easily, and has trouble making new friends due to her personality. Unfortunately, having these traits caused her to be diagnosed as certifiably insane and sent to the asylum. She wears a hospital gown, a makeshift ribbon made out of a scrap of cloth, and a pair of soft white slippers. She adjusts rather easily to the asylum, but she adamantly insists that she’s perfectly sane, though she does sometimes doubt her own sanity.

>>
>>95104672
But that's why I found the drunken boxing thing weird.

That's a very Kung Fu cliche and one that specifically comes with various tropes and archetypes most importantly that of the incompetent drunkard.

This character isn't a drunkard because he's a kickboxer and he needs his lover as healthy as possible. He very firmly belongs to a school whose students he treats like his own children despite being one of the younger members. At the same time he's prone to bouts of childlike pettiness and can be goaded into doing almost anything along with a slightly unhinged hunting obsession.

A proud but loyal kickboxer.

The archetypes that can be derived from martial arts styles are very varied.

Not really. He loves his gym mates and sees it as his job to take care and mentor them into the future especially the children of the gym. But likewise he's not even twenty years old when the story starts and has grown up in a gym environment where to improve to a professional level or in fictional tales case a world level you have to be a level of competitive that is beyond the norm of a hobbyist.

This leads to him checking peoples wraps and cooking healthy food just as much as it does him refusing to return a title belt because he took it off a particularly rude holder.

Here's the one that I'm actively working on to turn into scripts. This is a weird variation of one I've posted in pitch threads before.

In a small New England town going through an economic upturn, a quiet, introverted so-so girl slits her wrists and dies. However, she discovers that due to her ancestral heritage of witches her soul becomes trapped in the "dreamworld", a world between our own and the afterlife where thought, memory, emotion, and mind merge as one.

She manages to get in touch by smartphone with her closest and only friend, a bubbly popular extrovert with serious self image issues who becomes her main and only connection to the land of the living. Traveling through the dreams of her peers, teacher, and the wider community our protag discovers that there is a world of oddities and weirdness beneath our own, one that may provide the key to her ressurection. The two friends try to work together to confront the fears, flaws, and sins of a community trying to bury its past, while searching for a way to bring our heroine back to life. Unfortunately, they soon discover that the price of a single human life may be far steeper than either are ready to pay.

Along the way they meet an array of strange and interesting characters, like a depressed genius slacker who can see the future through adderal induced trances and a bitchy theatre drama queen with the ability to manipulate memories.

Hyperarousal or survival instinct as ghost that possesses people in danger. Short episodes that start with ordinary and less ordinary people kicking into fight-or-flight mode to hero or escape impossible odds by doing impossible feats. Every episode drops the viewer just as shit hits the fan, and from there its action after action. Once the scene is over, the viewer gets to piece together what the episode was about and gets to see the possessed character unpossessed. That way you have both the viewer and the episode's character figuring what just took place.

It takes place in a train station in space, like a literal space train (with tracks and all) station just situated in outer space, maybe orbiting a planet. Aliens and all come and go frequently, but the focus is on someone stuck stranded in the station. A human who was abducted by an alien but then accidentally left behind in this particular station as lost luggage basically.

So the person has to basically live in the train station since they can't afford a train ticket without space money, and they get to know both the station and other folks there, both employees and another one or two stranded there for their own reasons. As for the station itself, it would be relatively small and in a quaint and suspiciously Earth-like style, just happening to be in space. The over plot is the main character trying to get/steal/scrape money together for a ticket, but the episode-to-epsiode basis is the typical goings on of the station and trains/passengers that come and go.

A man finds himself in the body of his alternate universe self - a female superhuman celebrity/government agent.

It's a world where the development of mutations has stunted technological and social progress. The atom was never split, it took until the 90's for a man to reach the moon, the Cold War's still in full swing, and people still buy VHS tapes.

The main character's situation is a secret only known to few - his commander and the villain who get him there. He tries to keep the truth hidden while searching for a way out.

You have superhero action, body/gender switching comedy, and psychological horror as the MC realizes his personality is being overwritten by his new body.

Think, superheroes meet Neon Genesis Evangelion!

To expand, mutations here usually range from useless to debilitating, and the rare powerful/beneficial of mutations come with serious drawbacks (overheating, disfigurement, etc.). Mutants (derogatorily called "degenerates" and other slurs) are, while not out and out persecuted, not exactly popular.

The U.S. government, in trying to regulate a world of metahumans and superpowers, has taken on a more militaristic bent. It recruits and molds powerful (and photogenic) mutants into "celebrity soldiers", agents of propaganda that fill the media airwaves in advertisements, magazines, tv shows, etc.

Naturally, there is resentment towards this within the metahuman community - those blessed enough with good powers and good looks get promoted to royalty, while the rest are left to languish.

The villain is a technopath who was held prisoner in a secret government program throughout childhood. He is an anarchist/terrorist turned bitter and radical; while he initially wanted to bring change, he's come to see the situation as unfixable, and believes the entire system has to be destroyed - no matter who dies in the process. The villain and the MC start hating each other, but slowly warm up, coming to understand and respect each other, with the villain regretting bringing an innocent outsider into this mess.

As part of th ending, the villain promises to send the MC back - and he has to choose between going home and letting the villain carry out an attack on NYC, or stopping him and dooming himself to die.
>>
A person or persons are stuck swapping through universes but in a really subtle way a la Mandela effect. They're aware of the process but not the actual transition since it's unnoticeable, and the plot revolves around them trying to recognize what's different and adjust. Sometimes the new universe is very different, sometimes it's barely different. A fresh mix between some wacky or disturbing changes like things straight out of Twilight Zone, others more muted and the character(s) having to do some snooping and detective work to figure out what's gone different. The character(s) can gain and lose people to common causes like death or more personal causes like finding a universe they prefer compared to the ones before, the implication that if you actually try to fit in or "belong" to a universe then the swapping process will end for you. Otherwise, if you're a misfit or outcast you keep getting swapped till the multiverse eventually sorts you to where you belong.

Something like Arcanum, following the adventures of a miner-turned-boxer (think Rocky) who managed to finally get out of his rundown coal town. However unlike Arcanum; the great powers of his world are teetering on the brink of war, similar to the political quagmire that developed during the turn of the century. But there's also a lot of quiet introspection, classism, optimism about the future (making the Great War all the more tragic), and the ideals of dominion and empire defining society. While the Boxer is out beating people up, he befriends a kid from the middle class who comes to see him as a protective figure.

The main villain would be one of the robber baron 'Steam Lords' ruling over nightmarish mills, factories, and brothels. He only appears much later on as the Boxer starts attaining fame and glory in the city. Other characters include:
>Jack: Spring Heeled Jack in all his glory.
>A old coot who serves as the Boxer's cranky roommate, and friend. Think Roth from Soylent Green.
>Some witch who serves as the love interest.

I would just make it a period piece but due to people getting assblasted about anything vaguely historical these days ('WE WUZ KANGZ',), I'll stick with Arcanum's 'LOTR gone Victorian' concept. I always liked the general idea behind it. And no, this isn't steampyxie shit. I'd go out of my way to tear apart that awful genre as much as I could... Aeronaut's Windlass was too terrible a book.

A show about a shitty redneck family. The kicker: the kids go to a fairly 'normal' Middle School where they stand off with the five main villain factions:
>The Bullies led by a huge, beady eyed, sadist planer than a rock. Cause trouble at school.
>The Skaters. Mean nasty kids arguably worse than the bullies, led by a psycho with dead pale eyes. Cause trouble after school.
>The Nerds... Comic relief. They're led by some egotistical four eyes named Scooter who always wears a God's be damned Burger King crown. Thinks they're awesome, but in reality they're utter shit.
>Freakshow: a bunch of deformed, outcasted, or otherwise mistreated, students who have banded together and adopted a Circus theme. Their most repulsive member, who made a girl scream, is... Ambidextrous. The horror!
>Scammers: these guys.... While the nerds are shit, at least they get good grades. There's five members: the leader, his tall mopey second in command, and his three minions. They're always dragging the kids into scams, dangerous business propositions, but they somehow always make even.

>Instead, God wants his creations, humans, to stop Satan instead.
>God sends small pieces of his powers to only a very selected few candidates.
>They are young teenagers that must struggle, and make a long gruesome travel through Hell to defeat Satan, ruler of Hell.

On Halloween 1997, a lakeside Ohio town is plunged into terror and potential eternal darkness when a horror movie being made by a group of kids somehow becomes frighteningly real.
Together a scaredy-cat who hates Halloween, a teen film geek/aspiring director, and roving gang of troublemaking kids have to take back the night and save the day.
It's an all-ages thing.

Last time I was on a thread like this I posted an Idea about a burglar getting stuck in a monster mash mansion, trying to escape while occasionally getting caught up in the resident's Hijinks. Some guy told me to pitch it to CN immediately. On the off chance that that guy is still here i'd just like to say that I have not done that, but I am working on it and plan to pitch it at some point. Thing is I have no credentials or reputation, so no telling how long it will take for it to become something official.

Sci-fi work comedy with a somewhat absurdist bent feels very Futurama. Hell the original pitch was titled "Aloha Mars!"
>>
>>95109708
I read this pitch before, but I'm still curious: How exactly does it take inspiration from 60's rock? Hell, WHICH 60's rock? Pet Sounds? Revolver? Velvet Underground? SMiLE?
>>
>>95113061
It sounds cheesy and dumb yet awesome in all the right ways. It also isn't set in the 80's, which is nice. Out of curiosity, how do the vharacters try and fix the issue?
>>
>>95114319
The troublemakers want to smash the crap out of anything that looks at them funny. The scaredy-cat is certain he can think of a solution or at least find something that can solve everything without things getting overly violent. The film geek is sorta stuck between the two options. Wants to beat the hell out of stuff but worried the scaredy-cat kid will freak out. So she spends a lot of time trying to convince him that everything will work out and his plan is viable.

By the way that is genuine concept art above.

kind of adult-oriented. i hve two ideas here:
set in near future, kid buys this cursed board game from ebay and makes her friends play engaging them in a years long game where they "fight" each other through challenges the game proposes, depending on if the kid in question passes the challenge or not they get closer to winning the game. winning would mean to either be the only one that gets out alive or getting whatever wish you have. seems a bit too bad to me tbhfam
other story i thought of with the same characters is for them to be dead and in a limbo where they have to find their way out or die for real, following all the misadventures they could have in such a place that would have a mix of all kinds of elements in a fantastical way.
its meant to be comedy. like the problems theyre put through are funny or something. but i feel like its way too "elaborate" (as in it should come from a simpler more effective idea) to work well

Avatar/Chosen One has managed to fight her way to an evil cults final stronghold. She defeats the cultists buts finds the cult's antichrist. After deliberating on what to do with the child she decided to adopt him and tries to provide him with a love and care. Every episode is about the power of love and forgiveness and the child learns to be a better person. In the meantime the avatar/chose ones former allies are pissed that she didn't complete her mission and proceed to hunt her and the child down. Final Episode her old colleagues corners them both and after a heated discussion on the nature of evil proceed to kill her in front of the child and severely wound him they leave thinking they've accomplished their goal. Unfortunately he's not dead he wakes up and thanks the chosen one for trying to be a good mother and teaching him right from wrong but ultimately tells hers she's wrong. 20 years later he returns with an army to get revenge.

>Setting takes place near the shore, which Pet Sounds also takes influence from
>Has common themes of frustration and loneliness while otherwise feeling happy (like on Pet Sounds)
>Part of SMiLE is devoted towards the coming of age (Child is the Father of Man, Wonderful, Surf's Up)
>The font I use for the logo is based on the stylized version of SMiLE
I don't take much inspiration from The Beatles besides maybe Strawberry Fields Forever and A day in the Life, and I can't see VU fitting anywhere, though. I've written myself ,like, two lists of songs I could use to help me get an idea of what I want the show to be like

Basically I want to make a Gundam meets Space Dandy type show, like the main character is basically like if Amuro grew up tried to hard becoming a Char Clone (think Quattro Bajeena) became a man child like Dandy, being thrusted back into a war training the next generations if soldiers a trio with one being a brooding emo type, (Heero Yuy or Setsuna F. Seiei) who is clinically insane, a Effiminate Kamille Busan/Shinji Ikari type basically a trap, and basically a female version of Judah Ashta type, the rash reckless type. Also he's paired up with the Bright Noa like commander who is now a miserable father dealing with his awful kids and is getting cucked without realizing it. Oh yeah and the MC former love interest/gf is now a hardened mercenary fighting for the enemy team but could he be able to win her back once more,.....oh yeah and survive and win this upcoming war?

Basically half slice of life, half War drama. Most episodes would be experimental like Space Dandy trying to do something new each episode. I want it to be cynical yet sweet if that makes sense, showing what great es and shit our race can create.

Heres my idea
>The story of a man who is immortal and one of histories first real Humans
>Follows him traveling the world and having adventures though out thousands of years of history
>eventually gets depressed and sick of being alive so long
>each episode happens in a different era and usually has him cause some sort of famous historical event, often unintentional or trying something to help him pass the time (Become king of some place, go looking for some treasure, try out different religions ect.
>for example, having him say an off handed insult towards Jewish people in front of a war veteran causes a butterfly effect or him tossing a apple behind him and hitting an renowned American helps humans discover gravity
>as he gets closer to the modern era and the future he grew increasingly bitter, bored and desperate
>narrated by Zach Hadel
>>
Story basically encompasses a guy who has to do Good and Evil things to balance a worlds karma otherwise it explodes.

Has to travel from world to world via space travel, builds up a bit of a space gang to help him.

Wasn't always like this, but has to get revenge and sort of seek some sort of redemption, even though he knows it may be a terrible thing to do. Is the last of his kind in the universe. Home world gone.

Has the ability to manipulate light, can create hard light and pull off fantastic illusions and trickery. given to him by Gods, but doesn't like using it unless necessary to not get dead. Ability causes him to get real hot, like a lightbulb. Uses a sword and shield mainly.

Chapters consists of him fixing worlds, either by causing great goods or horrible evils. Has an understanding that Evil and Good are hard to discern, but knows whats bullshit and whats not.

When not being a warrior of gods, seeks to practice medicine and biological research.
>>
>>95115472
He starts off in his youth like Amuro, the whiny yet headstrong kid with something to prove, idealistic and then eventually he grows up,looses his gf (who turned out to not be dead) and idealism and basically crafts a Char clone type persona, he's suppose to be a disillusioned man child.

And this concept....it can work either as a cartoon or anime, it's probably work best as an adult Netflix cartoon, but it'd have to have a budget like Voltron Legendary Defender.
>>
>>95115632
ok now that sound so alot better.

Other characters I got is the main villains are basically an evil Kira Yamato and Lachs Clyne duo. I also would have a rival for the MC basically a Mu La Flags ace type that's a nice guy but the MCthinks is a dick.

Also the VAs I kinda have in mind would be very reference heavy like in the Japanese dub I'd cast Toru Furuya for my MC and other mecha series regulars.

I had an idea that came to me in a dream:

It's about this rageaholic cosmic superhero whose archnemesis dad "dumps" him for a more popular Earth-based hero. So he just travels around the galaxy and sometimes visits Earth, getting into misadventures.

As it might be fairly obvious, I'm a bit butthurt about some stuff.
>>
Well here goes. My story is basically heavily inspired by the game Absolver. Basically every one hundred years, 100 worthy students are sent outside of the 10 temples to fight each other, and the various creatures around them. However each fighter has a unique ability, in which they combine to their fighting styles. They have to keep defeating each other until only 1 remain, and become the sole ruler of the entire land. The main character will be a guy who wants to bring back of the clan he came from, since he's part of the people to considered(sub-human) by everyone else. He'll be naive, prideful, determined, and ill mannered. There's another main character, who will be the main villain of the story as well. He's only there to fulfill his tribe duty of always reigning king. He befriends our main character for being the first person to beat him. They quickly grow up together honing their skills. However the villain finds out soon their he's not eligible to go out of their temple since he didn't activate his unique ability. Felt betrayed by his master telling him this, he request duel and killed him, along finally getting his ability. The students hold him till his final breath, with it being that the villain is now eligible. Hearing his master allowing him to do his duty gives him a smile his friend never saw before. Our villain is quiet, calculating, and well mannered. Our story will follow them individually, along with others to be the new ruler. It's mostly focusing on the changes all these fights have on these characters.

Prior to the start of the story, the main empire known as the Star Empire which learned how to compress powerful magic spells into the form of cards. They then used this power to invade neighboring kingdoms and annex them into the empire. The MC served as an officer/proud soldier of the empire during the invasions and made a name for them self in several of the wars great battle, but had to resign early in their military career in order to take care of their sick mother and younger brother at their farm. (The mother eventually died)

Skip a decade and some years later. The ability to compress magic into cards, is no longer at the advantage of the empire and they are dealing with rebellions from some of the annexed kingdoms in the form of a rebellion known as the Rose. MC one day sends his younger naive brother off to the market to buy new farming equipment, but the market is attacked by imperial force hunting the rebels and the MCs young brother is dragged into the rebellion after saving a former princess to an annexed kingdom who is part of the Roses and is marked as a terrorist.

Thinking it as an accident that his brother is marked as a rebel The MC re-enlists into the empire's military part of a special army meant to deal with the rebels in order to save his brother (Thinking he was impressed into their army) and for his Emperor defeat the rebels.

While the MC's younger brother begins to fight for the rebellion and the princess he rescued thinking the worse of the Empire for invading them and that the Empire forced his brother into service again and that he can save him from them.

The story switches between the brothers perspectives as they make allies and enemies on both sides of the conflict, fight for their ideals of right and duty, and try to save the other from harm. Also there is world building in it and both the empire/rebels are painted in a positive/bad light.

I totally aimed to be cliched as balls without taking it to parodic extremes, I didn't want to make fun or deconstruct them, I wanted to use the tropes in new and different ways. I spoke with a couple people about it and they said more or less the same, I feel like changing the pilot to be more of a "straight man" in these cliche situations might make it work better.
>>
>>95087806
A fantasy cartoon. At first it appears generic with a farm boy main character, indicators he'll get orphaned at some point (rather sarcastic indicators), a bitchy 'oh so spunky' princess who we're supposed to love but hate, a black best friend, the jerk king who won't let his daughter prance about in the slums, the princess's ever suffering lady in waiting, and a myriad of jackass knights. They all live on a nice tropical island far removed from the continent.

First few episodes show us a little bit about the Island Kingdom, the huge (by medieval standards) capital city, where the black best friend falls in with a Dock Gang. We're also introduced to the monotheistic religion man has adopted (not the God Emperor); with zealous warrior monks, firebrand priests, and even flagellants. After a fairly action oriented first arc where MC saves his stupid sidekick from getting impaled on a harpoon, the island is attacked.

By who? Elves. It turns out Humanity has been pushed back to this island. The continent is now ruled by the Knife-Ears who have just entered the height of their civilization. A bloody war with the Dwarves has just entered it's first year (War of the Beard), Neanderthals and Denisovans have been domesticated by the Elves and serve as Slave Soldiers, and the continent has everything from Great Eagles to Ogres prowling the fringe of Elven civilization.

More comics than cartoon but pretty much yes, and I noticed a fair amount of them just involve a boy and girl being friends going on adventures. No romance, except for one where they both die at the end

I also have one involving magic I wanna say it'd be like Jojo or Pokemon Adventures in the fact that each saga/series/part or whatever would have new characters with new ones showing up sometimes.
I've got some long term character I wanna hint through the series and have be the final boss when I wanna end it all.

Jack the Giant Slayer: The Animated Series.

I guess I'll post some ideas.

It's a story that takes place in 80's California about three highschool kids forming a garage band together and the band becoming too big for their own good.

The bassist/vocal is your typical football chad minus the douchebag part. When he was a lil wee lad, his misfit cousin was babysitting him and took him to a local punk rock venue and he absolutely fell in love with it. Now he gotta make a choice of whether living a stable life or pursuing rock and roll dream. The twist is that his father and grandfather also had the same dilemmas, replace the punk rock with classic rock and rhythm and blues. He fits the Operation Ivy/Stiff Little Fingers punk rock archetype

The guitarist is a crazy talented violinist who grew tired of the classical trainings and wants to rebel against her parents. She must make a choice between living up to her parents' expectations or doing what she wants. She fits the Van Halen/Motley Crue hair metal archetype.

The drummer is an orphan who got adopted by a bartender who doubles as a saxophonist. She learned how to play instruments from her stepfather's colleagues. While she gets picked on and gets into fight a lot, she has a rather delicate taste in music. Things get rougher for her when local Mexican gangs start meddling with her father's bar. She fits the John Bonham/Buddy Rich archetype.

In the end, combined with record labels drama, the strains of touring and playing gigs, and personal issues, the band dispatches and is left as a local legend among youths.

The bassist gets picked up by a bigger but less brilliant band, only to get bored of it and drops out. After then he joins the navy like his father just for the fuck off it. When he even gets bored of that, he settles with becoming a producer.

The guitarist realizes that her true talent was in her violin after all, and goes out to be a renowned and respected classical violinist at a young age. It turns out that her parents were right all along.

It's translate better as a comic but I guess it could work as a cartoon.

Basically it's the adventures of a traveling warrior priest in a post apocalyptic setting.
>>
>>95119696
Any more details?
>>
>>95120234
Tons, most of it lore and world building though, hence it being better suited to a comic.

Basically, a young priest has leave the monastery (or is it a cloister?) And travel the waste land helping the surviving communities and spreading the gospel as part of his imitation into the order. Basically it's a chemical of his adventures and the people's he meets and trials as he comes of age. Also borrows a bit of the lore from Fallout (mostly Ghouls and some of the super computer stuff).

A large but quarrelsome family gathers to a grand but spooky old estate after a funeral to figure out the inheritance. While the adults argue for days over the will and who gets what, the kids spend the time playing and exploring the estate grounds. None of the adults seem to notice though that the surviving spouse of the deceased and most likely to get the house if not much of the inheritance, is a grotesque rat monster. The children do notice though and naturally afraid try to avoid the creature, however the main character and the youngest of the children seeks to find out what is going on with the monster and her deceased relative, why the estate is becoming more twisted and sinister, and what is happening to her family because of it.

I've had two ideas for a while
>Mayor Destruction
A supervillain runs for mayor of her town for a joke and due to a massive scandal for the incumbent, ends up winning by accident. She now has to navigate the perils of public office as well as the suspicious local superhero team and her fellow villains who see her city as easy pickings. The whole thing takes place in a lighthearted superhero universe which we gradually explore.
Main characters
Dr Catherine Destruction
A super-scientist who became a villain out of disdain for super-academia and to make money. Uses her gadgets and incredible scientific knowledge to sometimes solve problems, but more often avoid them. most common gadgets are her paralysis ray and her x-ray goggles

The Centipede
Dr Destruction's henchman now secretary. He turned to super villainy to give his family the affluent lifestyle he always wanted as a kid. Wears a suit of mechanical arms.

>[title to be determined]
At the beginning of human civilization, a group of beings took form, representing different philosophies (totalitarianism, capitalism, anarchy, monarchy ect). While once they ruled from atop palaces, after one of their own was killed by a human, they went into hiding, each attempting to subtly influence mankind in their own direction. The series would take place over thousands of years and focus on the power struggles between the beings and the people trying to free humanity from their unseen masters.
